Stampin’ Up! Friends Are Like Seashells Sneak Peek for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Celebrate!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

I decided to…make a birthday card!  And I decided to use a brand new stamp bundle – so new, in fact, that…unless you’re a SU Demonstrator…you’re going to have to wait to get it until the Jan – Jun 2021 Mini Catalog goes live on 5 Jan 21!  I picked the gorgeous – stupendous! – Sand & Sea Suite.  The anchor is the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle and the Sand & Sea DSP.  There’s also gorgeous Pearlescent Specialty Paper and Opal Rounds embellishments and….the amazeballs Seashells 3D Embossing Folder!  Take a look-see:

The layout is from this week’s Fab Friday sketch challenge.

I started with a gorgeous piece of Sand & Sea DSP that I matted on Blushing Bride cardstock for the card front.

Next – I took a piece of new Pearlescent Specialty Paper and the big, wait-until-you-see-what-this-can-do die from the Seaside Seashells Dies set and cut out the wunnermus seashells “scene”.

Using the stamps in the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set, I stamped the die cut to add the images.  I used Sahara Sand for the large and small cone shells, Seaside Spray for the two clam shells and Blushing Bride for the largest shell-whose-name-I-don’t-know! 😉  I used my Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends Combo to color all the grasses.

And then…the magic happened! 😉

I placed the colored die cut inside the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder – it fits PERFECTLY into the image in the folder…

…and ran it thru my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.  It.  Works.  Like.  A.  Charm!! 🙂

Can you see all that beautiful embossed detail?  If not – you’ll have to take my word for it for now! 😉

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I popped the die cut onto my card front.

I used a Stitched Shapes square die to cut a piece of Vellum cardstock and one of the circle Stitched Shapes dies to cut the center out.  Then I used some Glue Dots – at the bottom of the square – to adhere the square to the card front.

I cut two lengths of new Blushing Bride 3/8″ Metallic Ribbon and adhered them in a bit of an “x” with more Glue Dots.

On a strip of the Pearlescent Specialty Paper, I stamped the Friends Are Like Seashells sentiment in Blushing Bride.  Tip: ink stays wet longer on this Pearlescent paper – so….use your Heat Tool or go get a snack while it gets good and dry!  When it was dry, I snipped some banner ends and then popped it on with Dimensionals.

I popped some of those pretty new Opal Rounds onto the card front and the Vellum (cleverly hiding a few extra Glue Dots!!) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Friends Are Like Seashells in Blushing Bride on a Very Vanilla panel.  Over it, in stamped-off-once Sahara Sand, I added a sand dollar from the set.  Around that, I added “bubbles” in stamped-off-once Seaside Spray.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Blushing Bride mat and into my Sahara Sand card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a full-strength Sahara Sand sand dollar on the front.  I made a sticky note mask for it and then stamped the clam shells in Seaside Spray.  I pulled up the mask and added more bubbles…

…and added more of the Sand & Sea DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Wow.  Just…wow!  Y’all – this Sand & Sea Suite is seriously beautiful!  From the DSP with the same name…

To the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle – with that big die that FITS IN THE SEASHELLS 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER!!  Yes – I DID mean to yell – it’s that BIG!!

I hope you like – and are frantically searching for your wish list!! 😉

  9. WELL! Being a landlubber, I thought I would pass on this set, though I thought the DSP lovely, and I do like seashells. (Sigh) I guess I might have to add this to my next order.
That said, you created another beautiful card. Love the pastel shades and that embossing folder is wonderful. I am a sucker for EF and dies, so this looks like a winner.
