Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! Today’s a sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table! I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
You might be surprised to hear that the Plaid Tidings DSP – on SALE NOW! – is one of my favorite paper packs of all time! I LOVE the cross-season versatility of all the wunnermus plaids in the set, don’t you? For my card today – I used it for a Fall card with some help from the Gather Together stamp set and Gathered Leaves Dies. Take a look-see:
Right?? Is that not the prettiest plaid?? Love it!
Here’s the sketch we were all working with this week!
And I also played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge. I went across the bottom and down the right side! 🙂
I started with some barnwood paper from the In Good Taste DSP (yes – ALSO on sale right now!!) and embossed it in the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I matted it on Mossy Meadow for the card front.
I used a Stitched Rectangle Die to cut a piece of Mossy Meadow Neutrals 6″ x 6″ DSP and the Plaid Tidings DSP. Then I adhered them both to the card front with Liquid Glue.
Using the three cut-and-emboss leaf dies from the Gathered Leaves Dies set, I cut three leaves – one each in Bumble Bee, Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie. Tip: before cutting, lightly spritz your cardstock with water using the Stampin’ Spritzer. The damp paper really “takes” the embossing well – making for a nice, deep impression!
Using some Stampin’ Seal +, I adhered a length of the Copper ribbon from the Basket Weave and Metallic Ribbon Combo pack – looping it back-and-forth a couple of times.
On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the Gather Together sentiment in Cajun Craze and cut it with an oval Stitched Shapes Die. I adhered it with Liquid Glue to a Mossy Meadow scalloped oval cut with the Ovals Layering Dies.
I popped the sentiment over the copper ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I used Liquid Glue to tuck the leaves in under the oval.
I adhered an Acorn Trinket to the card front with a Glue Dot – then added a 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim bow with another Glue Dot.
A single Bumble Bee 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dot on the sentiment finished off the card front.
On the inside, I added a second Gather Together sentiment in Cajun Craze on Whisper White. Then I added the large leaf a couple of times in stamped-off-once Bumble Bee ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Bumble Bee card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the large Gather together leaf in Bumble Bee on the front…
…and more of the Plaid Tidings on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Thanks to Plaid Tidings and In Good Taste – I managed to get TWO of my favorite DSPs on ONE card! And they’re BOTH on sale – Score!
And the Gathered Leaves Dies make the best leaves ever for a Fall card – perfectly set off by the Gather Together sentiments and images!
