Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Plaid Peaceful Boughs for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I decided to go All-Favorites-All-The-Time today, so….I’ve got Beautiful Boughs on Wrapped in Plaid DSP with Peaceful Boughs sentiments! Self-indulgent?  Maybe.  Take a look-see!

And…here’s our sketch! 🙂

I started with some predominantly Night of Navy paper from the Wrapped in Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP that I matted on Night of Navy for the card front.

I used a little strip of SNAIL to secure some Gold 1/4″ Shimmer Ribbon, then adhered it on the back with Glue Dots.

For the art panel, I first stamped the medium size boughs image from Peaceful Boughs in Shaded Spruce.  I stamped the image off once on scrap paper and stamped the art panel twice without re-inking.  I added some splatter in stamped-off-once Night of Navy – again stamping twice without re-inking.  Then I matted it on Night of Navy and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut each of the boughs dies in the Beautiful Boughs Die set in Shaded Spruce, each size of the detailed pine cone in Early Espresso and each size of the solid pine cone in Gold Glimmer Paper.  These I adhered together with Liquid Glue to create the layered pine cones.

I stamped a sentiment from the Peaceful Boughs set in Night of Navy on Whisper White and cut it out with the smaller label die in Beautiful Boughs.

Finally – I cut three berry cuts from Gold Glimmer Paper using the die in the Frosted Bouquet Dies.

I arranged all the boughs and berries and pine cones and sentiment – looking for the just-right “there it is” moment.  Once I got it – I pulled the sentiment off and took a picture.  Then I started layering everything with Liquid Glue.

The last piece was to adhere the sentiment on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue.

I added some Holiday Rhinestones in Cherry Cobbler around the pine boughs and a Shaded Spruce gem on the sentiment and the card front was done.

On the inside, I used my Stamparatus to add a second sentiment from Peaceful Boughs in Night of Navy.  In the corners, I stamped the pine boughs in Shaded Spruce that I stamped off once before stamping the panel then stamped it again without re-inking.  I also added the splatters in Night of Navy in the same manner (stamped off once then stamped twice without re-inking).  A few Holiday Rhinestones in Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce finished it off.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Night of Navy mat and into my Shaded Spruce card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Peaceful Boughs boughs and splatters on the front…

… and a little more of that Wrapped in Plaid DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Seriously – is it any wonder these are some of my favorite things?  And – the Peaceful Boughs and Beautiful Boughs are CARRYING over!  Whoo-hoo!  Know what is NOT?  THe Bundle pricing, is what!  That’s right – once the Holiday catalog goes away – so does that 10% savings.  So….get it now!  AND – the Wrapped in Plaid DSP is NOT carrying over, soooo – you know what you need to do!  I hope you like!

    Mary,
Maybe I am reading wrong or don’t understand the Excel file, but I open them they seem to be the same file, I can’t figure out what is going to carry over from the Holiday catalog.

I am SO sorry – I had a bad link for the Excel format Carryover list (the PDF was correct – whew!). I’ve fixed it now and you should be able to see it! Thanks for letting me know!
