Stampin’ Up! God’s Peace is Brightly Gleaming!

Good morning, all – Happy Happy Hawwmp Day to you!  Hope the week is going well for each and every one of you! 🙂

Today I have a quick and easy card for you for Christmas – and it’s a great “coloring” card!  It uses the God’s Peace stamp set and some pretty Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s Sunday Stamps challenge.

I started with some Night of Navy and copper foil paper from the beauteous Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP and I matted it on Mossy Meadow for the card front.

On a smaller piece of Very Vanilla, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the large God’s Peace image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink – and the sentiment in Mossy Meadow.

I used my Stampin’ Blends to color the image.  Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy and Mossy Meadow for the flower, ribbon and pine boughs.  I used my Light and Dark So Saffron for the “glow” around the candle flames.  The flames themselves are colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight Blend.  I brushed the flames and the candles with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

I matted the panel on Mossy Meadow and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to add some doodle dot-dashes around the edge of the panel.  I created “stamen” in the flower with some Pumpkin Pie gems from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.  Finally, I added some Night of Navy gems here and there – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from God’s Peace in Mossy Meadow using my Stamparatus.  Then I stamped the large image and colored it the same way I did on the front.  A few Night of Navy Rhinestones added a little more bling to the inner liner!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow panel and into my Cherry Cobbler card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the candles from God’s Peace on the front…

…and more of the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I just love this beautiful God’s Peace stamp set – the large image is really an iconic image for Christmas, don’t you think?  And the sentiments are wonderful – the ones I’ve used here, as well as the large Bible verse (Luke 2: 10-11) in its lovely script-y font.  And the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP is the perfect shining foil to the set.  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Yesterday was “hay” day.  Not a “hey day”….just “hay” day…

This hay ought to last us thru about March….maybe.  We may go back and get another load.

Ponies have to be ready for the Zombie Apocalypse, too, you know! 😉

While Wayne did most (okay…ALL) of the work…

…no job can really get done without a good farm dog. 🙂

As you can tell by the pretty impressive amount of tongue he’s got hanging out, it’s hot work!

Fortunately, this wasn’t our first rodeo…err..hay-getting trip so….Mom brought water and a bowl.

Whewww!

Thanks, Mom!

    Hi Mary,
Beautiful cards!! I love the “Light & Love” sentiment.
WOW! That’s a lot of hay!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Gerri! And yep – it takes a lot of hay – especially thru the winter when the grass is pretty much gone! 🙂

  2. Lovely card. I just got my set and can’t wait to use it. Great coloring!

  3. Faith Simpson

Hi Mary, Thanks for posting a card with that set….I’ve been wanting to see one, and really like what you did.
Loved your “hay” day pictures too…..couldn’t help but notice how beautiful your sky looked with those pretty white clouds. Do you just use your phone or do you use a digital camera? You get wonderful pictures.
Next I thought: Farming looks like a LOT of work. Good thing you have Finn to help (smile).

    • stampsnlingers

All phone! iPhone X – pretty darned good camera!! 🙂 Thanks so much, Faith. And yes, having horses is definitely WORK! 🙂

  4. Beautiful card! The colors are just perfect. Finn is definitely a very good helper…I can see that standing next to the truck in the shade is hard work for a furry guy. Someone needs to Wayne where to put stuff!
    😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yes it IS hard – but very very important! – work!! 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  5. Heather Heroldt

Love this, Mary – that background paper is gorgeous, of course, and I love your coloring on the candles! Thanks so much for playing at Sunday Stamps!

  6. Melissa Grant

I really like this set. It has a very “traditional ” feel and I love that look for Christmas. Your coloring is wonderful for the image and setting it on the DSP with sparkling stars gives it a magical feel! Thanks for sharing with us at Sunday Stamps 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you so much, Melissa, for the kind words! I appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
