Stampin’ Up! Udderly Over the Moon!

Happy Tuesday, y’all!  Hope the week is going well – and that if you are – or are not – or might be – or might not be – maybe – possibly – in the path of Dorian…that you’re doing okay.  🙂

My card today is a quick and easy one – with some fun embossing using Shimmer Black Embossing Powder to create the cute image from the Over the Moon stamp set!  Take a look-see:

The color scheme is thanks to the Global-Design-Project color theme this week.

I played along with The Paper Players “Down on the Farm” theme…

…and with the TGIF Product Spotlight Challenge! 🙂

I started with a piece of So Saffron card stock and matted it on Basic Black for the card front.

Then I cut two pieces of Mint Macaron paper from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP and matted them on Basic Black as well.  I adhered them both to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the art, I inked up the sweet little cow-dudette from Over The Moon in Versamark Ink and stamped it on a piece of Whisper White.  Then I sprinkled it with some Shimmer Black Embossing Powder and heat embossed it.  I did the same with the heart-conversation bubble.  Aaaannddd…while I was at it – I heat embossed the heart-conversation bubble on a seperate piece of Whisper White and set it aside for the time being.

I carefully colored the image with Stampin Blends (remember – the ink wants to react with the embossing powder – so…be discrete and stay off of it as much as you can!).  I used my Dark Black, Light and Dark Smoky Slate and Light Rococo Rose.  I colored her boots and horns with my So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker.

I matted the panel on Basic Black and added it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I colored the second heart-conversation bubble with my Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blend and then fussy cut it.  It’s popped onto the card front with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Over The Moon sentiment in Rococo Rose on Whisper White and punched it with the Classic Label Punch.  I edged it with the So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker and popped it onto the art panel with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside, I added the cow and conversation bubble images again – this time in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink – on a Whisper White panel.  I colored her as I’d done on the front.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Rococo Rose card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the cow and bubble treatment on the front…

…and a little more of the Mint Macaron Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – you can’t NOT love this little cow dude/dude-ette from the Over The Moon stamp set.  It simply isn’t possible. And when you throw in the sweet little sentiments – it’s a win-win-win!!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

I do believe the Finn-man has the right use-plan for the treadmill.

You know – a plan where you don’t look at it with a weird combination of affection, appreciation and sheer loathing!?

Yup.

  1. Oh, my, gosh, the Finnster is so darn cute…just like your card. Great use of the 3 challenges. I love your colors…they are udderly moovelous. Have a great day and hope Dorian stays off shore away from the entire east coast.

    • stampsnlingers

I see what you did there!! Thanks so much, Karen! And yes – Dorian can just head out to sea – he’s not wanted here! 🙂

  2. Such a cute card! Fun colors and design. 🙂 Yep, Finn has the right idea with the treadmill… 😉

  3. Susan K

Great take on all 3 challenges and the cuteness factor of the cow dudette makes it a winner in my book. I wish I had one iota of your creativity!
I’m with Finn on the use for the treadmill! Ours is upstairs, out of sight/out of mind. 😂

    • stampsnlingers

I have a real love-hate relationship with the treadmill, that’s for sure! It’s smack in the living room so it taunts me into getting on it! Thanks, Susan! 🙂

  4. Faith Simpson

This cow card is adorable! This cow set has bothered me because the standing up cow doesn’t have an udder! I mentioned that in a group I stamp with, and one person said it’s because it is a boy cow. Boy cow?? There aren’t any boy cows, are there? That would be a bull…….so is this one a bull? But I thought bulls were solid color. Are there spotted bulls? ok…I know it’s just a rubber stamp….I like when the sentiment covers up the missing udder!!

    • stampsnlingers

Hmm – okay, so colors go with breeds not so much gender… 🙂 I sort of think horns are more gender-specific. So the standing cow (bull!) is a bull. The other two are girlies. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! 😉 Thanks much, Faith! 🙂

      • Faith Simpson

Well, of COURSE that makes perfect sense……but I’m a city girl (that’s my excuse). I also didn’t know that LINGERS referred to horses at first….I thought it meant that people came to stamp and then just sorta hung around a while….like linger a while…..DUH.

      • stampsnlingers

LOL. Well – Lingers is sort of obscure – and VERY breed specific. And maybe even Deatherage-specific!! Not all horse peeps would even get that one – so that’s easily explained away. And since there aren’t any cows in the city, really – that’s pretty understandable as well. 🤗

  5. Finn has the right idea! What an adorable card! Love the cow and the simplicity (can you believe that?). I am not in the path of anything, especially not Dorian, so I am even more grateful. Thanks for sharing this cute card. May have to CASE.

    • stampsnlingers

We’re way out of it, too, so we’re also pretty happy about that! Thanks very much, Julie! 🙂

  6. Super cute cow and a sweet layout….I think I might have to CASE that one for an upcoming class! Thanks for sharing this and playing with my Paper Players challenge this week!

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you, Leanne! CASE away! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  7. Ann Wilcox Schach

Such an adorable card, Mary! I LOVE this layout and the great color combination. Thank you for sharing with The Paper Players!
