Stampin’ Up! Check You Out Congratulations!

Happy Friday!  I hope your week has gone well – we’ve been getting back into the swing of things.  And trying to figure out what time zone we’re in! LOL!

Speaking of time-zones – if you live in Alabama – this is your Tax-Free Weekend!  Read down below to see what SU! products qualify for this big savings – then get shopping (and earn you some Bonus Days coupons while you’re at it!).

I’ve got a cute little number for you today, using a stamp set that you may have missed in your early looks thru the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.  This one is called Check You Out – and…it’s totes adorbs!  Check it out!

How cute is that little owl?!?

I took inspiration for the layout from this week’s Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.

And the colors are from The Paper Players color challenge.

I started with a Basic Gray card base and stamped it all over with books from the Check You Out set.  I put all three book images onto an acrylic block, inked them with Blueberry Bushel and stamped them multiple times across the card front.

I used a piece of Granny Apple Green and a same-size piece of scripty paper in Blueberry Bushel from the 2018-2020 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP to create the card front, adhering them at jaunty angles with Liquid Glue.

I cut a Rectangle Stitched Die from Whisper White and stamped a Check You Out sentiment at the bottom in Blueberry Bushel.

I cut a length of Granny Apple Green 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon, doubled it over and used SNAIL to adhere it to the Whisper White panel.  Then I added a Mini Library Clip at the top and popped it all onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the check-out card in Balmy Blue on a piece of Whisper White.  I added the little owl in Basic Gray and a sentiment in Blueberry Bushel.  Then I fussy cut the image (cutting off the extra “owl’ – what I really wanted was his feet! 😉 ).

I stamped the owl again in Basic Gray, added some Granny Apple Green spectacles and fussy cut him.

I popped the check-out card onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals – then used Mini Dimensionals and Liquid Glue to add the fussy cut owl.  Finally, I tied a little bow from Blueberry Bushel 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon and adhered it to the Library Clip with a Glue Dot – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added another Check You Out sentiment in Blueberry Bushel on a Whisper White panel.  I added a Balmy Blue mortar board (don’t need a graduation card?  Leave that off!).

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Granny Apple Green and into the Basic Gray card base and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Basic Gray owl, Granny Apple Green spectacles and a Balmy Blue mortar board on the front…

…and more of the Blueberry Bushel 2018-2020 In Color DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Seriously?  How sweet is that little hoo-ter!?  I just love the glasses, don’t you?  Although it’s kind of a “fly-over set”, Check You Out is a versatile set, with sentiments for thank you, congratulations, graduation and “just checking up” cards.  I hope you like!

Do YOU Like to Pay Taxes on Your Goodies?!?

Me, neither!

If you love holidays—and don’t love taxes—we have some great news for you! Twelve U.S. states will have sales tax holidays for school supplies over the next several weeks. The dates for each state’s sales tax holiday will vary; the definition of “school supplies” will also vary from state to state. Fortunately, a selection of Stampin’ Up! products qualify as school supplies and will be tax-free during each state’s sales tax holiday period. (Sales tax holidays may not apply to additional county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.)

If you live in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia or Wisconsin (whoo-hoo!) —click the picture below to see which products will be tax-free for each state !  HINT:  ALABAMA is THIS weekend!

Important Note: Orders must be placed with Stampin’ Up! during the sales tax holiday period to receive these select items tax free; each period begins—and ends—at midnight (Mountain Time).

Finn Fan Fix

Finn continues to improve – we’re tapering the steroid cough medicine and are half-way thru the antibiotic.

He felt good enough last night to bring Mr. Reindeer to me… 🙂

He did mention that he thinks he’ll probably need to go back to see his friends at the vet.  You know – just to be safe.

And get…pets and belly rubs!
