Stampin’ Up! It Starts With Art for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a color challenge – so, I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop!

When I saw the color challenge, my brain gravitated to the Follow Your Art suite.  So out came the It Starts With Art stamp set, a little Follow Your Art DSP and the fun Button Button Embossing Folder (all of which will be available to you in JUST FIVE DAYS!!).  Take a look-see:

Here’s the color scheme!

And – I pulled from this week’s Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge for the layout.

I started with some Coastal Cabana paper from the Follow Your Art DSP and embossed it in the Button Button folder, then matted it on Daffodil Delight for the card front!

Next up is a small panel of Whisper White – also embossed in the Button Button folder and matted on Daffodil Delight.

I created the diagonal element of the sketch with some carrying-over Granny Apple Green 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon – I cut four short lengths and adhere them directly to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the It Starts With Art sentiment, I stamped it in Granny Apple Green on Whisper White.  Smack over the sentiment, in stamped-off-once Daffodil Delight, I added two little re-inkers!

I cut the sentiment with a Stitched Nested Label and cut a larger Daffodil Delight label for the mat.  I adhered them together with Liquid Glue and popped it over the ribbons with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I pulled out my Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit and strung a little silver heart locket onto a Coastal Cabana paper clip and then hooked that to a Coastal Cabana felt heart.  I adhered the whole thing to the sentiment with a couple of Glue Dots, then added a tiny Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine bow with one more Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped two more re-inkers from It Starts With Art in stamped off TWICE Daffodil Delight on a Whisper White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into my Granny Apple Green card base, popped the card base on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got two stamped-off-once Daffodil Delight re-inkers on the front…

…and then I added a little more Follow Your Art DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Follow Your Art set is just so perfect for all us crafty folk, don’t you think?  The It Starts With Art set – and it’s bundled Arts & Crafts Dies – will let you express your creativity all day long – and no fussy cutting those ribbons and inkers and pens!  I hope you like – and are counting the days with me!

No fussy cutting? Yay! I never know what to do with all those embellishments and you make them look perfect on this. I’ll give them a try…

  4. WOW! This is so very…very….? It is outstanding. Once again you pulled out the stops and made a beautiful card. When you said in the intro you used Follow Your Art, I certainly did not expect what followed. I would CASE this but have none of the products you used. Thanks for sharing a very special card.
