Stampin’ Up! Be Mine & We’ll Be So Hoppy Together!

One of my favorite things about where I live is the sheer volume of the frog song we get to hear every night.  Folks – they do NOT say ribbit!!  They speak about a 100 different frog languages and they let loose with joyful abandon every night.  I so look forward to the time of year we can sleep with the windows open so I can listen to them as I fall asleep.

Please do not take this to mean that I have, have had or will ever have a pet frog…Want to pick up and pet a frog…Want to touch a frog in any way.  I just like having them around so I can enjoy their musical talents! 😉

One of the most fun stamp sets in the first Sale-A-Bration release is, without a doubt, the So Hoppy Together set.

Well, I used that set – with the new Hop Around Framelits (which you’re going to be able to get on 1 March!) – and a little bit of Be Mine Stitched Framelits and…well.  Take a look-see:

Check out these great dies – you won’t have to fussy cut ANYtning!

The layout for my card is from this week’s Sunday Stamps sketch challenge.

I started with some Animal Expedition DSP from the Annual Catalog that just so happens to have little croakers on it – and matted it on Calypso Coral for the card front.  Then I embossed a piece of Whisper White in the Petal Burst TIEF, matted it on Calypso Coral and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut a heart from another design of Animal Expedition DSP using a large heart die in the Be Mine Stitched Framelits and adhered it to the embossed panel with Liquid Glue.  I also cut a Vellum card stock frame and adhered that as well (using Liquid Glue just under the part I knew would be covered).

I wrapped some Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine around the whole thing a couple times, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

I cut a Rectangle Stitched Framelits rectangle from a Lemon Lime Twist design in the Animal Expedition DSP and adhered it over the twine and hearts with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped a So Hoppy Together sentiment in Calypso Coral onto Vellum card stock and then (when it was FULLY dry!!) cut it with the lily pad die in the Hop Around Framelits.  I used Glue Dots – carefully! – under the sentiment and on the edges where I could cover them – to adhere it over the LLT rectangle.

I stamped the So Hoppy Together frog in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock and cut it with the new die in the Hop Around Framelits.  Then I colored him with Light & Dark Granny Apple Green and my Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends.  I popped him on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut some Hop Around pond plants….??…from the Animal Expedition DSP and lightly sponged the edges with Calypso Coral then adhered them to the card front with dabs of Liquid Glue.

Finally – I stamped some lighting bugs in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and cut them with their die in the Hop Around Framelits.  You guys – if ALL this die set did was cut these adorable little bugs…it would be SO worth it!!  I colored them with my Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Write Marker and adhered them here and there with Liquid Glue.

I added a couple of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls to the pong plants and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a Calypso Coral sentiment from the Stamping Your Way To the Top (a demonstrator-only set – sorry!) and some more lightning bugs and a butterfly from So Hoppy Together in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Whisper White panel. I colored the butterfly with my Pool Party and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Calypso Coral mat and into my Pool Party card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more bugs and butterflies on the front…

…and more of the Animal Expedition on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Now – y’all know I seldom shy away from a good fussy cut – but…man-oh-man is it sweeeeet to be able to just stamp – cut – and go!  The Hop Around Framelits are a wonderful addition to your tool chest – and you’ll be able to pick them up on 1 March!!  And if you don’t already have the So Hoppy Together set…GET IT!  It’s just so stinkin’ cute!  Hope you like!
