Stampin’ Up! Happiness Surrounds Positive Thoughts

Good morning, y’all!  Hope your work week – or retired week! – is going well.  Fall has arrived in GA – and I am ever so grateful!

One of the coolest things about the Snowflake Showcase is the wide-ranging versatility of the products.  Fall – Winter – Christmas.  Encouragement.  Congratulations.  You’ll find all of it inside!  You’ve still got time to get in on my special bundle and gather up all the Snowflake Showcase products for yourself.  But time is running short – I’ll be shutting off the special soon!

I made another card today with one of the stamp sets in the suite – the Happiness Surrounds set – and the matching Snowfall Thinlits. And I added it to a little Country Lane DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch.

And the Fall colors and leaves are from the inspiration photo at the Paper Craft Crew Challenge.

I started by matting a piece of Country Lane DSP on a Mango Melody panel using Liquid Glue for the card front.

On a small piece of Very Vanilla, I added the line of flowers image from Happiness Surrounds in Cajun Craze.  Then, inking just two flowers – I added the Mango Melody flowers between them.  This – and Snow Is Glistening – are both photopolymer stamp sets, so it’s easy to selectively ink and stamp portions of the images.

I matted the panel on Mango Melody with Liquid Glue, then wrapped some Linen Thread around it three times – securing it in the back with Glue Dots.  Then I popped the whole thing onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the leaves and berries dies from the Snowfall Thinlits to cut two of each – leaves in Mango Melody and berries in Cajun Craze.  These were adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut a Mango Melody and Blackberry Bliss detailed flower (also from the Snowfall Thinlits).  Then I stamped the sentiment from Happiness Surrounds in Blackberry Bliss on a piece of Very Vanilla.  Then, over the top, in stamped-off-once Mango Melody, I stamped the striped flower.

I cut the flower with the matching die in Snowfall Thinlits and sponged the edges with Mango Melody.

I adhered the flowers together with Liquid Glue and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  To finish it off, I tied a bow from two lengths of Linen Thread and adhered it with a scrunched-up Glue Dot.

On the inside, I added more Cajun Craze and Mango Melody flowers to a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I added a second sentimet in Blackberry Bliss.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Blackberry Bliss card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Happiness Surrounds flowers in Cajun Craze and Mango Melody on the front…

…and a little more Country Lane DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love how many options I’ve got with the Happiness Surrounds stamp set – and it’s cool that it (along with the Snow Is Glistening set) coordinates with the gorgeous Snowfall Thinlits.  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Monday was another one of “those” days in the south.  A perfect Fall day.  Crisp in the morning – temps tapped 70 in the afternoon!

The Man and I walked up to get the mail around lunchtime.

One of the Man’s finer traits is his desire to be WITH me.  He ranges here and there – but he’s pretty much always within sight of me.  And he waits for me – whether I ask him to or not.

VERY different from his predecessor – who really didn’t give much of a durn where I was!

Beautiful day – a good dog.

Doesn’t get much better than that.

  1. What a perfect use of that particular sheet of DSP. Winner, winner! Your surroundings look so serene. So glad it’s cooler weather. Our highs this week are in the low 80’s…a welcome relief from the 90’s which we’ve had for at least 6 months! The Man is such a delight. It looks like your leaves have not turned?

They’re getting there – a lot on the ground. Some years it goes from green almost instantly to brown. Bleh. But we’ve got some maples by the house that will put on a show soon enough! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

You had have that just right…and with a good dog to be by even a not-so-good day is WAY better.

Mary, this is a beautiful card. Fall colors…nothing can top them! And seeing that country lane you get to walk up, and down again, makes me long to be back in the mountains of Colorado again.

  6. Denise Stoner

Beautiful card as always!!! I so look forward to seeing your cards and of course hearing how the ‘Man” is doing. Looks like a great walk for the two of you! Happy for you!!
