Stampin’ Up! First Frost Heather Noel!

Hey guys – happy Hawwmp Day! 🙂

Two days to go before our Big Retreat!  I’m really excited and looking forward to the weekend!  Be watching – I’m quite sure I’ll post pictures of our activities!

So – before we get to the card – some news to share:

Stampin’ Up! posted the following update for us late on Monday:

Sales for the following holiday catalog products have exceeded Stampin’ Up!’s forecast and are continuing strong, resulting in a significant number of backorders. It will be at least 30 days before these items are back in stock.

  • 147905: Santa’s Workshop Memories & More Card Pack
  • 147807: Chicken Wire Elements

These products will remain available until TODAY, September 19 at 10:00 AM (MT).  After that, they will then be placed in not-orderable status until the stock has been replenished.

When you enter item numbers for these products in an order, you will receive a pop-up notification asking if you would like to be notified via email when these products are back in stock.  Completing the notification form will allow you to find out immediately when the status changes for these items and they are again available for purchase.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.  Click on the images below to head over to my online store to order these items before the numbers are temporarily turned off later this morning (remember 10am MOUNTAIN time!)

Okay – on with the card for today!  I made a Christmas card for you, using the new First Frost stamp set and the bundled Frosted Bouquet Framelits – over top of some gorgeous Frosted Floral Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

Back to my usual layering, collage-ifying self, heh? 😉

The layout for this one is from this week’s TGIF Challenge:

And the colors come from the FabFriday color challenge!

And the doily embellishment was inspired from the Inkspirations Designer’s Choice challenge!

I started by embossing a Whisper White panel in the Subtle Dynamic TIEF and matting it on a Powder Pink panel for the card front.

Then I used the little die in the new Frosted Bouquet Framelits to cut a bunch of berry branches from Balmy Blue and Galvanized Metallic Paper, which I adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Over those, I popped a panel of Frosted Floral Specialty DSP (matted on Powder Pink) with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I made a two-ended banner from Galvanized Metallic Paper with the Banner Triple Punch and adhered it with Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered a Pearlized Doily over top.

I inked up the thistle image from First Frost – using my Highland Heather and Tranquil Tide Stampin’ Write Markers.  I made three of them and cut them with the matching die in Frosted Bouquet.

I also stamped a few flowers in Powder Pink and cut them with THEIR matching dies.  I adhered a few of them with Liquid Glue, adding in a few more Galvanized Paper berries.  For the final – smallest! – flower, I added a couple of Dimensionals on the back and used them to wind some Silver Metallic Thread – then popped it over the other flowers.

The sentiment, a wooden element from the Farmhouse Elements – was colored with my Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend.  Then I spritzed it with some Frost White Shimmer Paper (dissolved in some rubbing alcohol in a Stampin’ Spritzer).  That darkened it up – almost to Gorgeous Grape!  I adhere it with a little Liquid Glue.

I added a few Frosted Epoxy Droplets – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a First Frost sentiment in Highland Heather on a Whisper White panel.  Then I added some berries in Balmy Blue  – I stamped it twice without re-inking.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Powder Pink mat and into my Highland Heather card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some more Balmy Blue berries and a couple of Highland Heather and Tranquil Tide thistles on the front…

…and I added a little more of the Frosted Floral Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

El Voila!  Whew – back in my not-CAS wheelhouse! And I love the soft colors and beautiful florals in this First Frost bundle and coordinating Frosted Floral Specialty DSP!  I hope you like!

FAST FUSE ADDED TO CLEARANCE RACK (WHILE SUPPLIES LAST)

If you’re like us, you thought the days of Fast Fuse were done at Stampin’ Up! (You know . . . because we had already retired the product and everything!) However, our vendor reached out to us because they manufactured a surplus of Fast Fuse applicators and refills, and they offered to sell their excess Fast Fuse inventory to us. We took them up on their offer and purchased 2,500 Fast Fuse applicators and 72,000 Fast Fuse refills.Fast Fuse Adhesive

One of the reasons SU! decided to buy this product was because of feedback they received letting them know that some of you still wanted to purchase Fast Fuse applicators and refills, and this was the perfect opportunity to make it available once again through the Clearance Rack. Fast Fuse refills will be available to you for more than 50% off their original price! Because supplies are limited, you should go right to the online store to place your order instead of waiting to place a workshop order.  These’ll go fast, y’all!

Finn Fan Fix

So.  It’s tax time at the Deatherage household.

Which means…it sucks.

Yes – we do our taxes in October.  Have for…ever?  Its just how we roll.

Anywho – it sucks.

Wayne and I get all stressed out until it’s done.

Finn – in a fit of solidarity – gets stressed out, too.

I mean…he can barely sleep.

It’s really pretty hard to watch.

I know he’s anxious for tax time to be over for another year so he can get some rest.

Poor puppy…

  1. What beautiful card! Love the layers and the soft colors. Great way to use those die cuts! Finn does look pretty stressed out…it’s terrible that taxes are affecting his sleep so much. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

I know! It’ll take him a week or more to recover. And probably lots and lots of cookies! 😉

  2. Over at Inkspirational, they have a doily challenge but it ends soon…just in case you are interested and didn’t know.Your layering and collaging is wonderful, as usual, and Finny is just funny.

  3. Poor puppy indeed. He is no doubt suffering from YOUR stress (I HATE tax time too!), and the lack of attention! This is a stunning card. I saw that color challenge and wondered how to get all those colors in one card. You did it beautifully!

    • stampsnlingers

Yea – it’s a rough time, for sure! Thanks so much, Julie! 🙂

  4. Kate

    Very pretty!!!
Yes…if one can’t help, one may as well rest until they get over it. 😑

  5. Beautiful card Mary! I knew I chose you for a reason, now I know, delaying taxes until October. Do you also tell them what I do “Add it to what I owe”?😂

    • stampsnlingers

LOL – no they usually owe us. But they DO take their sweet time getting it back to us! Thanks much! 🙂

  6. Sandra Warthen

I’m glad to see I am not the only person that hates taxes! Have a super wonderful time this week-end. Looking forward to the pictures

    • stampsnlingers

See? If we mis-spelled it just a wee bit – “taxs” not “taxes” – then it really WOULD be a four-letter word, right?!? Thanks, Sandi! 🙂

  7. I love the addition of the galvanized metal elements as a neutral to the color palette! These colors did not say Christmas to me but you’ve made a wonderful Christmas card. Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!

  8. Lin Hense

Absolutely gorgeous. I can see this as more than a Christmas card.

    • stampsnlingers

Yes indeed! It’s such a pretty set, isn’t it? Thanks so much, Lin! 🙂

  9. Heather Heroldt

Gorgeous, Mary! This set is really growing on me – I turn to it more and more, but I haven’t tried it with the galvanized paper yet – brilliant! As always, your details are spot on! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!

  10. Bree Renwick

You beautifully combined both challenges and created a stunning card! Thank you for joining us at TGIF Challenges!

  11. Gorgeous card! You have inspired me to break out my galvanized paper and create with it. Thanks for playing along with us this week at TGIF Challenges!
