Stampin’ Up! Sweet Treats, Toil and Trouble for the Amy’ Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop!

Good mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month we’re doing Halloween Fun!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

Before I get going – let’s just acknowledge the historical import of this day in the history of our Country.  I know I will always remember that day – where I was, what we were doing, what I felt as I raced to work – hoping my boss/friend hadn’t already gotten on an airplane and that the folks I knew were in D.C weren’t at the Pentagon.  I know y’all remember it as well.  As we must.  We must never – ever – forget.

So – okay.  On with the card.

I pulled out the Cauldron Bubble stamp set and bundled Cauldron Framelits – paired them with some Toil & Trouble DSP and some Spooky Bats Punch shapes.  Take a look-see at the Double Easel Fun Fold that I created with them!

What I love about Double-Easels is that – with just an extra piece or two of card stock and a few extra score-and-folds, you’ve got a WOW card!

I started with the Double Easel in Basic Black.  I cut a piece at 4″ x 10 1/4″ and scored and folded it at 5 1/4″ x 7 3/4″.  Then I matted three pieces of new Toil & Trouble DSP on Granny Apple Green and adhered them to the easel.

I cut a piece of Copper Glimmer Paper from the Joyous Noel 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper Pack with my Circle Layering Framelits and adhered it to the front “mountain” fold with Liquid Glue on just the bottom portion.

I stamped the sweet little witch from Cauldron Bubble in Tuxedo Black on a piece of Whisper White and colored her with my Light and Dark Smoky Slate, Highland Heather, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie and Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends.  Then I cut her out with the matching die in the Cauldron Framelits.  I also cut a cauldron and a kitty from one of the pieces of Toil & Trouble DSP (how cool is that?!).

I scooped up a little Shimmery White Embossing Paste and colored it with a drop of Granny Apple Green Ink Refill – then I sort of piled it onto the “stuff” pouring out the top of the cauldron – I used a toothpick to build it up!

From some Black Foil, I cut a spider web from a Cauldron Thinlit and a few Spooky Bats punched shapes.

I used Liquid Glue to build the little “scene”.  Yep – no dimensionals….yet! 😉

I removed the “hangar” from a Spider Trinket and adhered him with a Glue Dot to the Black Foil spider web.  The sentiment, from Cauldron Bubble is stamped in Highland Heather on Whisper White and snipped out.  I used a Glue Dot to adhere two of the words to the bubbly stuff.

Across the large panel, I adhered a length of new Black 5/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon, using a couple of Glue Dots to adhere it to the back of the panel.  Then I added a new Snowflakes & Stars Wire Element with a Glue Dot and another Spooky Bat with some Liquid Glue.  A bow, adhered with a Glue Dot, finished it off.

On the inside, I stamped the cauldron from Cauldron Bubble in Tuxedo Black on a Whisper White panel, then I colored it with my Light and Dark Smoky Slate, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends.  I added the rest of the fussy cut sentiment words with Liquid Glue and stamped the second Cauldron Bubble sentiment underneath in Tuxedo Black.

I matted the panel on Granny Apple Green and Basic Black with Liquid Glue and then adhered the panel into my Highland Heather card base, popped the double-easel card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Cauldron on the front….

…and some more star-strewn Toil & Trouble DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Now – it appears there are a lot of steps here – and there sort of are.  But – those are “cake decorating” steps.  The “cake” itself (the actual double-easel) is easy peasy.  I just sort of got carried away with all the fun goodies in the Cauldron Bubble bundle and the spooky-cool Toil & Trouble DSP!  You can make your double-easel as simple or complex as you like.  Just….MAKE a double-easel!  Hope you like!
