Stampin’ Up! Lilypad Lake Sneak Peak for the Stamp Ink Paper #147

Good morning, y’all!  Tuesday again, so it’s time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge for you to play along with this week!

I decided to use a new-to-me set and give you a little sneak peek of the Lilypad Lake stamp set and bundled Lakeside Framelits.  I love this stamp set – the sentiments are perfect – and really really right for me during this particular time.  Take a look-see:

Our Stamp Ink Paper challenge #147 is a technique challenge…

I borrowed a layout for the card from The Paper Players.

And my color scheme is from the Sunday Stamps color challenge this week.

I started with a Very Vanilla panel and used sticky notes to mask off the two sides – I made the open center area the same size as the waves die from the Lakeside Framelits set.  Then, using wedges of Stampin’ Sponge, I sponged the top in Night of Navy, the center with Tranquil Tide and the bottom with Crumb Cake.  Sky – pond – shore.  See?

I pulled off the masks and ran the panel thru the Big Shot with the waves die in place – then I moved the die up and did it again.

I cut a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and adhered it to a Tranquil Tide mat with Liquid Glue.  Then, using Foam Adhesive Strips, I popped the sponged and die cut panel onto the mat.  I used strips all along all four edges of the panel – and also immediately above and below my die cut.

I used some Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon across the card front.  The sentiment, from Lilypad Lake, is stamped in Tranquil Tide on Vellum card stock and cut with the larger banner die in the Lakeside Framelits.  I used two Glue Dots under the left side of the banner to adhere it to the Burlap Ribbon (under where I knew I’d be putting my shore bird).

I stamped the bird in Night of Navy on Very Vanilla and colored him  – using an older Wink of Stella Glitter Brush as my “paint” brush – in Night of Navy.  Then I cut him with the matching die from Lakeside Framelits.  I used some pieces of Stampin’ Dimensional and Liquid Glue to adhere the bird at the end of the sentiment.

I cut several grass dies from Tranquil Tide (these I brushed with Clear Wink of Stella) and Crumb Cake card stock and used Liquid Glue to tuck them into the “waves” and stick them on.  I added a single Share What You Love Artisan Pearl – and used my Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker to hand-draw some birds in the sky.  And the card front was done!

On the inside, I added another Lilypad Lake sentiment to a Very Vanilla panel using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to align it and get it where I wanted.  Y’all – the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig is retiring – but I know I’ll still be using mine.  I urge you to get you one right now if you don’t have it already!  It’s an awesome tool!  I stamped the lilypad image in Tranquil Tide to the bottom of the panel and used my Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush to color the leaves in Tranquil Tide and the flowers in Grapefruit Grove (avail 1 May).

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Tranquil Tide mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Lilypad Lake image on the front…

…and also on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Love love love this Lilypad Lake stamp set.  “Be Calm and Leave it to God”.  Perfect, yes?  And the lovely dies in the bundled Lakeside Framelits helps to cut everything out and make lovely and serene waterside scenes.  I hope you like – and have added this bundle to your must-have list for the arrival of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog in June! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

More glimpses of “Finn” on Monday!

Peek-a-Boo…

“Can you walk the log?”  Fully expecting the “have you grown a second head” look….instead…

He hopped right up and walked it!

And – one of his weirder little habits – he made a beeline for the job-box this morning!

And – y’all!  I got a glimpse of “the lips” – I was guarding my yoghurt and he was trying to convince me that he needed it! “I almost died, you know!”  And he gave me a quick look at the lips.

Progress in baby steps is still, in fact, progress!!

Whooo-hooo!!!!
