Stampin’ Up! Sweet Petal Soiree for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! It’s color week and we’ve got the full complement of hoppers today!  Do be sure to check out all their projects when you’re done here, won’t you?

The color scheme we had for our challenge today made me think right away of the Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP.  So – I added that to some sweet images from the Petal Palette stamp set and Petals & More Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

Here’s our color challenge!

And my layout is from the Fusion Sketch – although I got a little jiggy with the sentiment placement…

I started with a piece of the Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP cut to a normal card front size (3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″).   Then, using my Stampin’ Trimmer, I cut the triangle out of the DSP.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered just the remaining top and bottom portions of the DSP to a Whisper White mat to create the card front.

I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add the Petal Palette sentiment in Marina Mist into the open Whisper White area. I took two lengths of Whisper White 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon and adhered them over the seams, securing them in the back with Fast Fuse.

I used my favorite leaf die from the Petals & More THinlits and cut two of them from some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and adhered them over the DSP with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the large and lovely flower image from Petal Palette in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Whisper White and cut it with its matching die from the Petals & More Thinlits.  Then I colored the flowers in Marina Mist and the leaves with Old Olive.  I did the coloring by picking up ink from the lids of the ink pads with my Blender Pen.  Then I brushed Clear Wink of Stella over the flowers.

I popped the flowers onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, added a Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shape by the senitment and the card front was done!

On the inside, I again used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add a second Petal Palette sentiment in Marina Mist ink on a Whisper White panel.  And I added a second – smaller – flower image in Tuxedo Black and colored it in the same way I colored the front flowers.  Then I brushed the buds with Clear Wink.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Whisper White panel and then into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

The front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope got the small Petal Palette flower on the front…

…and I added some of the Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Love love love the Petal Palette bundle!  The flowers and leaves you can create with this pretty stamp set and thinlits are simply beautiful! Hope you like!
