Stampin’ Up! Fabulous Flirty Flamingo Congratulations

Happy Hawmp Day, y’all!  Did you realize that two weeks from today marks the end of the 2017 Occasions Mini AND the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog?!?  So…if there are goodies that you’re still wanting from either of those – best get on it now!!  And don’t forget those Eastern Palace bundles – they’ll disappear in two weeks, too!

Of course, that also means there’s only two weeks before the 2017-2017 Annual Catalog goes live!!  Whoo-hoo!!

I’ve got a new stamp set to share with you today, one that I’ve not used yet.  It’s the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set.  I used it to make a pretty little Congratulations card.  Take a look-see:

I used the sketch challenge from Can You CASE It to help me with the layout.

And my colors are a nod to the Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge.

Finally, I thought it went very well with the Just Us Girls trend week challenge.

I started out by stamping the palm frond from Fabulous Flamingo in Peekaboo Peach all over a Whisper White panel and then I SNAILd it to a Peekaboo Peach mat.

For the art work, I stamped the flamingo in….wait for it…Flirty Flamingo.  I just had to – and Watermelon Wonder is retiring, so it’s been replaced in my shelves by the new In Colors!! 🙂

The flamingo is a three step image.  I stamped the outline image in full strength.  Next, I used the solid fill-in image – this one I stamped off twice before stamping the Whisper White panel.  Finally, I stamped the shading image – this one I stamped off once before stamping the panel.  Then I fussy cut just the body of the bird.

To make the art panel, I re-stamped the Fabulous Flamingo on a square of Whisper White card stock.  I deliberately raised the image up so that the top portion of the bird was off the top of the panel.  I added some Pool Party “water” and some stamped-off-once Pool Party grass across the bottom.  Then I SNAILd the panel to a Peekaboo Peach mat and onto the card front.  

I took the fussy cut Flamingo body and popped it over the stamped image with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from Fabulous Flamingo, is stamped in Pool Party and Flirty Flamingo.  I used my Pool Party ink pad to ever-so-carefully ink up all the words but “Pink” and then I inked that with my Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker.  I stamped it on a strip of Whisper White, snipped a banner end and edged it with the Flirty Flamingo Marker.  I adhered it to the card front with a little more Liquid Glue.

Finally, cuz I just couldn’t help myself! – I stamped another Peekaboo Peach palm frond and fussy cut it.  Then I added it to the end of the sentiment banner with some Liquid Glue!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Fabulous Flamingo in Flirty Flamingo on a Whisper White panel.  Then I added a stamped-off-once Peekaboo Peach palm frond over top.

I SNAILd the panel to a Peekaboo Peach mat and into my Pool Party card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Flirty Flamingo Flamingo on the front…

…and I added more Peekaboo Peach palm fronds on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Isn’t this a fun stamp set?  It’s got a couple more sentiments in pretty fonts and the really pretty Fabulous Flamingo!  Hope you like – and will get it on your wish list!
