Stampin’ Up! Vivid Vases Number of Years!

Good morning – it’s Hawmp Day!  And – a minor miracle has occurred here in GA.  As I packed my stampin’ stuff yesterday afternoon and piled the boxes and totes…I began to get a trifle worried about the size of the pile versus the Nissan Sentra I was pretty sure I was going to get at the Rental center.  Wayne assured me he’d get it all in…and I have faith he’d have done that.  But…would he have driven to Savannah in 6 weeks to pack it again so I could get home??  Likely not!  Perhaps I could take a picture and be able to re-create the exact box/tote/stuff arrangement?  Maybe some of my things would magically shrink while I was gone?

As it turns out, neither of these things will be necessary.  I gots me a mini-van!!  A durned nice one, too.  Thank goodness for the Gold Choice option at Hertz.  My worries are over.  I can now buy more stuff all willy and nilly while I’m there and STILL get it all home! 🙂

So.  Here’s my last post typed at home for a bit.  When next you hear from me, it’ll be from the lovely city of Savannah.  For this card today, I’ve got a clean and simple design that uses some retiring items.  I combined some Vivid Vases (retiring) and some Number of Years (thankfully not retiring!) with a little Greetings Thinlits (yep – retiring).  Take a look-see:

Vivid Vases Number of Years 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I have to say – I really love this card.  You know, we’ve got a lot of flower images at Stampin’ Up!  I mean, really beautiful flower images.  But – this little set of stems and leaves and this one little tiny flower in Number of Years – almost an afterthought, really, with the huge impact that the LARGE NUMBERS MAKE! – is one of my favorites.  It’s just so sweet and simple…I think it’s one of the prettiest we’ve got! 🙂

My design was inspired by this week’s sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch – # 169:

CTS 169 Sketch

And my colors and the flowers are from photo challenge #340 at Just Us Girls:

JUG Photo Week #340

I spent a lot of time trying to make a lemonade pitcher and some cookies.  Then I just got over it and went with the lemonade and cookie colors and the flowers in vases!

I started by scoring a frame around a Blushing Bride card stock panel – I did three score lines with my Simply Scored board on each side (I got the idea for the lines from the towel under the lemonade glass).  I SNAILd the panel to a mat of Flirty Flamingo  – one of the really pretty new colors in the 2016-2018 In Color Collection!

Then I stamped the Vivid Vases image in Basic Gray Archival Ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock and cut three of them out with my Paper Snips.  For the flowers, I pulled out the Number of Years stamp set.  I laid the vases on my Flirty Flamingo – matted Whisper White panel to be sure I knew where my flowers needed to go, then I inked just the parts of the leaves/stems that I wanted, using Stampin’ Write Markers.

Vivid Vases Number of Years 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers

The two end flowers are done in Wild Wasabi and the center is in Old Olive.  True confession:  when I stamped the three images – I got a little….extra….cuz I didn’t do a super good job of cleaning my stamp. 🙁  So….I added some wispy grasses to each vase with my Markers when I was done. 🙂

For the flowers themselves, I used Sweet Sugarplum and Wisteria Wonder – using the little tiny flower in Number of Years.  Then I adhered the two end vases onto the panel with Mutli-Purpose Liquid Glue.  The center is popped on with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Vivid Vases Number of Years 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

The sentiment is a die cut from the Greetings Thinlits – cut from Flirty Flamingo card stock.  The word “spring” is from the Circle of Spring stamp set.  Using a piece of Sticky note tape, I covered the word “Hello” on the stamp, inked the remainder in Pear Pizzazz and stamped it on my card panel.  Then I used little dots of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere the Hello over the Spring – letting it err towards the left side of the panel (just a little), to help balance the card.

Vivid Vases Number of Years 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I popped the panel onto my card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done.

Vivid Vases Number of Years 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

On the inside, I stamped a Whisper White panel with more of the Number of Years stems and leaves in Wild Wasabi ink, then added the little flowers in Flirty Flamingo.  The design of the inside of the card repeats that of the card front.  All the measurements are the same, I added the same three-score-line frame, etc.  So, I matted the Whisper White panel on a piece of Flirty Flamingo, then onto the scored Blushing Bride panel and then SNAILd it all into my Flirty Flamingo card base.

I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done! 🙂

For the Medium Whisper White Envelope, I repeated the flowers from Number of Years in Pear Pizzazz and Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum…

…and then stamped the inside of the flap with Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum and Wisteria Wonder little tiny flowers.

Vivid Vases Number of Years 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  A quick, clean and simple card, using one of the prettiest sets we have – Number of Years.  And Vivid Vases is surely going to be one that I’ll miss when it’s gone!  The Greetings Thinlits are super nice little words, useful on so many cards.

Since these things are retiring, be sure to snag them up before they’re gone!  Stamps will for sure be around until 31 May – but the rest is all while supplies last!  Don’t miss out! 🙂
