Happy Sunday, y’all – it’s the last day of November!! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
My card today – the next in the 2025 Twelve Saturday’s Till Christmas series – is one of the easy-peasy fun folds that I love so much! It’s a book fold and it’s an easel fold, too! The Modern Christmas Specialty DSP does ALL the work – with a little help from the coordinating Ornamental Christmas bundle. And – it’s all done in black and gold and pink! Take a look-see:
I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Basic Black cardstock for my card base. Using my Paper Trimmer, I scored along the long edge at 5 1/2″, 6 3/4″ and 8 7/8″. I folded the 5 1/2” score as a mountain (like a regular card). Then folded the 6 3/4” score the opposite direction. Finally – I folded the 8 7/8″ score opposite that (so…another mountain).
I used Liquid Glue between the two closest score lines (5 1/2″ and 6 3/4″) – then pressed the card front to the back – this adhered them together and created the top-book-fold panel.
I cut a piece of Modern Christmas Specialty DSP at 5″ x 4″ wide. Then, along the long side, I cut a 1″ x 4″ piece and then two 1 7/8″ x 4″ pieces – keeping the pieces in the same order as I cut them off.
I matted them all on Pretty in Pink cardstock and then adhered them to the easel panels on the card front with Liquid Glue.
For the book fold panel – I wrapped some black twine from the Black & White & Gold Baker’s Twine twice around the matted narrow panel, securing it in the back with a couple of Glue Dots.
I used two lengths of the black twine to tie a bow around the wrapped twine and then I adhered the whole thing to the book fold panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tip: you might want to stick a Mini Glue Dot under the bow to keep it from sliding around! 🙂
I’d seen a card that Brian King did and he mentioned that the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch is perfect for cutting out a little “grove” of trees from the Modern Christmas Specialty DSP! And he was right – so…I did!
Using the two largest circle dies in the the Stylish Shapes set, I cut out a Pretty in Pink mat using the largest die and a Basic Black mat using the next-to-largest die.
I adhered the Basic Black circle to the Pretty in Pink circle with Liquid Glue, then adhered the punched out DSP circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using Liquid Glue on the bottom portion of the circle – I adhered it to the end easel panel.
I stamped a Modern Christmas sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a 3/8″ wide strip of Pretty in Pink. When it had dried – I used scissors to snip banners in both ends.
I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done.
For the inside, I stamped another Modern Christmas sentiment in Tuxedo Black on a 4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Then I added my favorite tree image from the set in Pretty in Pink ink. I matted the panel on Pretty in Pink and then adhered it to the inside of the card base.
I matted a narrow strip of Modern Christmas Specialty DSP on Pretty in Pink cardstock and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the inside panel to be the easel stop and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Pretty in Pink Modern Christmas tree on the front…
…and more of the Modern Christmas Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love book folds AND easel cards and this one is the best of BOTH! And what a pretty display card for a mantel all thru the holidays! The Ornamental Christmas stamp set is so pretty – the font on that big inside sentiment, am I right!? And the coordinating Modern Christmas Specialty DSP is so elegant and pretty in black and gold. The addition of Pretty in Pink is a fun, kind of non-traditional touch, huh?! I love it!
I hope you like!
