Stampin’ UP! Jolly Christmas Festive Friends Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

For my Christmas card, I pulled out the cute Festive Friends bundle and paired it with a little North Pole Delivery Specialty DSP and the Christmas Words Collage Hybrid Embossing Folder.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s our sketch!

I started by embossing a Lost Lagoon panel in the Christmas Word Collage Hybrid Embossing Folder – and then adhering it to the front of my Lost Lagoon card base using Liquid Glue.

I matted a piece of North Pole Delivery Specialty DSP on a Poppy Parade mat and then adhering it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used the tag die in the Festive Friends die set to cut a tag from the same design of Pool Party North Pole Delivery Specialty DSP.

I also ran the die thru again – just to cut out the little star doohickey from a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock.

I adhered the tag to the card front with Liquid Glue and then stuck the Poppy Parade star in place – adhering it with more Liquid Glue.

I cut out three Festive Friends trees from Lost Lagoon cardstock and adhered them with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock I stamped the Santa from Festive Friends in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and cut it out with its coordinating die.  I colored it with Stampin’ Blends:

– Body and hat – Light & Dark Poppy Parade

– Face – Ivory and Dark Petal Pink (cheeks)

– Boots – Light Basic Black

I popped him onto the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut out three Festive Friends snowflakes from Pool Party cardstock.  I adhered them with Liquid Glue and added a white Pearls of Beauty to the middles of each one.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Festive Friends sentiment in Poppy Parade ink and cut it out with the label die in the set.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a small strip of Poppy Parade cardstock behind it – so that the star cutouts are “filled”.

I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a second Festive Friends sentiment in Poppy Parade on a Basic White panel.  Then I added the trees in Lost Lagoon and a flurry of snowflakes in Pool Party. I added small white Pearls of Beauty to the middle of the snowflakes – and a large one next to the sentiment.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Festive Friends snowflakes in Pool Party ink on the front…

…and more of the North Pole Delivery Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the tone-on-tone texture from the Christmas Words Collage Hybrid Embossing Folder – it’s a great base for the uber-sweet Festive Friends “scene” and pretty North Pole Delivery Specialty DSP!  Santa is just so cute – and I love those little die cut trees!

    Hiya Mary,
Susan here from Pickering, Ontario, Canada. I get your daily emails. I love your humour but would like to catch you live.
I have notifications set but they don’t work worth a dang for me. I am an old bird so for my fave demos, I set an alarm.
Quick Question: Do you have a regular time and a regular day of the week?
    Thanks,
    Susan

Hey Susan – thank you for the kind words! 🙂 I am pretty regular on my live videos – Saturdays at 7pm US Eastern Time and Thursdays at 1pm US Eastern Time – on my YouTube channel. The last couple of weeks have been wonky cuz of my travel – but…should be getting back into the swing now! Thank you so much! 🙂

  6. Love this card! The embossing background is such a great touch and I love the use of Lost Lagoon.
