Good morning – happy Sunday! Hope you’re having a good weekend. Today is get-everything-ready-so-I-can-“TRY”-to-fly-to-Las-Vegas tomorrow! I say “try” cuz…Atlanta and Las Vegas airports are BOTH on the reduced-schedule list. As I type this on Saturday night – there’s no changes to our flights but…anyway – I’ve got my fingers crossed!
My card today is a clean and simple fun fold. Which is NOT the oxymoron that it seems like it might be! It’s a book-fold card – which is so easy that it barely deserves the name “fun fold”! This one features the Peace on Earth bundle and some Peaceful Garden DSP. With an assist from the Seasonal Tags stamp set. Take a look-see:
This one was inspired by a card we made at the retreat – created by Karen Ksenzakovic!
But I modified it for the Try a Sketch on Tuesday sketch challenge.
To begin, I scored a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Thick Basic White cardstock at 5 1/2” and 6 3/4” on the long side. Then I folded the 5 1/2” score line as a “mountain” – so….you know, ”regular”! – and at the 6 3/4” score in the opposite direction. Topographically speaking, that would be a “valley” fold!
Using Liquid Glue between the 5 1/2” and 6 3/4” score lines, I adhered the front of the card base to the back – just in that 1 1/4” area. This made the “book” or “side” fold.
I embossed a 4 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock in the pretty Beautiful Pattern 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
On a 1 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I used Liquid Glue to adhere a 1/4″ wide strip of gray Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper. Note: I made the strip longer than I needed and then trimmed the excess with my scissors. Then I stamped the Peace on Earth sentiment in Secret Sea ink.
I adhered the sentiment panel to the book-fold side of the card front with Liquid Glue.
Using the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes circle die, I cut out two circles from the same gray Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper – and adhered them both to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I cut out two Silver Foil circles using the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch and adhered them with Liquid Glue. Then I used the second-from-largest Stylish Shapes circle to cut out a piece of Peaceful Garden DSP – which I adhered with…you guessed it!…Liquid Glue.
I used the dies in the Peaceful Garden set to cut out one of each of the doves from Basic White cardstock and six small stars from Silver Foil.
I used Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the doves to the matted circles.
I added three stars in each circle with Liquid Glue.
I adhered some clear Faceted Snowflakes and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped two words from Seasonal Tags in Secret Sea ink on a 4 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Over the top, I stamped the little pine bough from the set in stamped-off-once Secret Sea.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Seasonal Tags pine bough in stamped-off-once Secret Sea on the front…
…and more of the Peaceful Garden DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Okay – I loved Karen’s card front the retreat – and…I think this CASE turned out really pretty, too! The gorgeous Peaceful Garden DSP is a great starting point – I mean….Secret Sea, am I right?!? With sweet die cut doves and sentiment from Peace on Earth – it’s an easy thing to make beautiful cards. Seasonal Tags is…perfect for the holidays! The pretty mix-and-match sentiments plus little images to dress them up – it’s a winner!
I hope you like!

Turns out the birthday party was a Princess theme. LOTS of Elsa’s – a Jasmine – Belle in a cute little yellow dress – and some others (apparently you can tell by the dress?!). They were pretty stinkin’ cute!
Biased I might be – but… I feel like Jules was the cutest of the Elsa’s….
That was the PRE-rain picture! They had a unicorn bouncy house….
…that got plenty of action until the rain rolled in. So we adjourned to the basement for cake… in front of the classic Camaro!
Blowing out candles is a LOT harder than it appears to the casual observer. Required several attempts and…an assist from Mom and Dad!!
After the strawberry cake – the kids played – in the rain. So…present opening was a bit…damp and a smidge bedraggled!
Also – present opening requires very close supervision from ALL the princesses. Who knew?!
Seriously – too stinkin’ cute.
And – remember the bracelets we made at the retreat? Jules tried hers on right away – I think she liked it!
All in all – the royal party went off…swimmingly! Even with the rain – everyone had a fun time!!
