Stampin’ Up! Grow With Love Plaid Borders Card

My card today MIGHT be considered a fun fold but…mostly it’s a great way to showcase the new Grow With Love bundle – and one of my faves – the Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP.  And – there’s a very pretty scalloped edge due to the NEW Fancy Borders die set (which will be available to you on 4 March!).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

I started by using the double-scalloped edge die in the new Fancy Borders die set (part of the new Online Exclusives coming on 4 March!) to cut part of the front panel of my Pretty Peacock card base.  Tip: I put the top of the cutting edge about 3″ from the fold.

For the inside, I adhered a piece of Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP to the right side of the back panel using Liquid Glue.

On a Basic White panel, I stamped the Grow With Love sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink.  I inked up the basil image from the set in Granny Apple Green, covered the label portion of the image with a sticky note – and stamped it over the sentiment.

Then I added a large Brushed Brass Butterfly.

For the front, I used the seed packet die in Grow With Love to cut out a pink piece of Timeless Plaid DSP.  I assembled it with Liquid Glue, leaving the top flap open.

I used the 1/8″ Hole Punch in the new Hole Punch Assortment (new on 4 March – this pack has THREE mini punches perfect for making tags!) to punch a hole in the top.  There’s a hole-protector die in the Grow With Love set that I used to cut out a Pretty Peacock protector – which I adhered over the hole with Liquid Glue.

I ran two lengths of Linen Thread thru the hole and then tied a third length around it, making a bow.

Then I adhered the packet to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Note: this little pocket is a perfect spot to slide a gift card into! 🙂

I used the large label die in the Grow With Love set to cut from a Basic White panel – which I then embossed in the new Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder.

I adhered the embossed label to the seed packet with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Rosemary image in Pretty Peacock and the Basil in Granny Apple Green inks.  I cut them both out with the coordinating dies in the set.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the Basil die cut to the card front.

I stamped my sentiment in Pretty Peacock on a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut it out with the smallest label die in the set.  I adhered it over the Basil with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I added the die cut Rosemary with Dimensionals – and a little Liquid Glue.

I tied a tiny little Linen Thread bow and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.  Five Brushed Brass Butterflies finished off the card!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Grow With Love Basil in Granny Apple Green on the front…

…and more of the Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Grow With Love stamp set with it’s pretty herbal images and sentiments is perfectly paired with the bundled die set – you can cut out all the stamped images – plus the darling seed packet!  I think it’s pretty perfect in Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP, don’t you!? Come 4 March – don’t forget to add the Fancy Borders die set AND Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder to your cart! 🙂
