Stampin’ Up! Fruity Handmade Designs Sneak Peek Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning good morning and happy Sunday!  Hope your weekend is going well!  It’s been chilly here – but nothing like some parts of the country are getting!  If that’s YOU – stay warm!!

I have a little bit of a sneak peak for you today – and it’s a specail one.  Why is it special, Mary!?

Glad you asked!

It’s special becuase BOTH of the things I’m giving you a peek at will be FREE during Sale-a-Bration!  And – ONE of those things – the pretty Handmade Designs stamp set will be FREE as part of a little extra JOINING bonus.  The Fruit Salad 6″ x 6″ DSP will be FREE with a $60 purchase!  Take a look-see:

The Handmade Designs stamp set was MADE to be colored and used with our Stampin’ Write Markers.  I mean – you can color them howveer you like but…did I mention that while you’re getting the free stamp set you’ll ALSO get to select TWO of our Classic Color Family Stampin’ Write Marker Packs!  Like…maybe you’ll pick the Brights and the Regals packs (which would let you make today’s card!).   I’ve got a VERY informative graphic down below – and there’s going to be more info coming down the pike on Tuesday, 7 Jan!!  Yeah!

Now – for this card, I first matted a piece of the new Fruit Salad 6″ x 6″ DSP (free during Sale-a-Bration with a $60 (before shipping & tax) purchase) on a Poppy Parade mat for the card front.

Then I adhered a 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ strip of Poppy Parade cardstock smack across the center with more Liquid Glue.  Tip: the SU Grid Paper is a BIG help here! 😎

I used the next-to-smallest Stylish Shapes square die to cut out some Basic White squares.

Using a Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write marker – I colored the flower stamp from the Handmade Designs set – just colored the red rubber all over with the brush end of the Marker.  I colored the leaves with the Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I “huffed’ on the stamp (like….when you huff on a window to fog it up so you can draw a smiley-face.  Don’t act like you never do that!!) and stamped the squares.

Note: there’s lots of ways to do this – what you want is part of the image on six little die cut squares! I just kept coloring and huffing and stamping until they were all done! And – I’ll show you a little different way to do it in the video! 🙂

Using the bullet end of the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker, I colored inside all the Poppy Parade lines of the stamped images.  Then I adhered all the squares – evenly spaced! – with Liquid Glue.

I tied a bow with two lengths of green Natural Tones Linen Thread and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Handmade Designs sentiment (I love this sentiment!) in Poppy Parade ink and cut it out with the largest Stylish Shapes banner die.

I adhered the sentiment with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals, added some Crushed Curry Adhesive-backed Dots for Days and the card front was done.

On the inside, I colored and huffed on the Handmade Designs flower image again and stamped it in the corner of a Basic White panel.  Then I added the Daffodil Delight shading. I think it looks just like one of the marigold types I grew in my summer vegetable garden! 🙂

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Daffodil Delight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was….ALMOST!…done!

This set includes a pretty stamp for you to add to the back of your cards!  I inked it in Poppy Parade and then signed my name with the bullet end of the Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Handmade Designs flower on the front…

…and more of the Fruit Salad 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love doing Marker-to-Rubber inking and stamping – but not every Cling stamp set is a good fit for it!  The Handmade Designs stamp set, though – was MADE for it! Literally!  And it works perfectly!  Just don’t forget to hit ALL the engraved lines with your Marker and HUFF! 🙂 And – this is one of the geometric designs in the fun and FREE Fruit Salad 6″ x 6″ DSP.  There are so many more designs – I can’t wait to dig into them all!
