Good morning everyone! Welcome to this month’s Fun Folds Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators! We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see! This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!! How cool is that?!?
My card today is one that would be great for…graduation! Starting a new job. Retirement! Or…getting ready for a mission in Elon Musk’s SpaceX Dragon 2! Basically for anyone embarking on a new journey! It features a sneak peek of some new Online Exclusive products – coming on 7 Jan! It’s the Everyday Arches stamp set and bundled dies with some Everyday Skies 6″ x 6″ DSP to bring the stars to the show! Take a look-see:
This one has all the things I love – a faux step AND an easel! Boom!
It started with a regular faux step main card base. I took a 5 1/2″ x 8″ piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock and used my Paper Trimmer to score on the long side at 3″, 6″ and 7″. I folded them as a mountain – valley – mountain.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a starry piece of new Everyday Skies 6″ x 6″ DSP to a Boho Blue mat. Then I adhered that to the front of the main card base.
I matted a narrow piece of the same DSP – pattern (choosing the “cloudy part”) on Boho Blue and adhered it to the narrow front panel of the main card base (that’s the easel portion of the main card base).
Next up, I made the narrow step panel – which is ALSO an easel! – by scoring a piece of 4 1/8″ x 8″ Daffodil Delight cardstock at 1 3/4″, 6″ and 7″ – and folded it the same as the card base.
Once again – I matted two pieces of Everyday Skies 6″ x 6″ DSP on Boho Blue cardstock and adhered them to the front panel and front easel panel (the narrow one!) with Liquid Glue.
Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the step easel card to the narrow front panel of the main card base. You can see in the picture above that that left me an easel to decorate! 🙂
Then I closed the card base and used more Liquid Glue to adhere the smaller portion of the panel to the back of the main card base – thus creating the faux step easel.
I used two of the Everyday Arches dies (I used the 3rd-from-largest and 5th-from-largest dies – see which ones in the picture below) to cut out a Daffodil Delight arch. Tip – place both dies on the plate at the same time to cut the arch in one swipe!
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped one of the cool arched sentiments from Everyday Arches in Boho Blue ink. Then I added one of the airplane silhouettes in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and the stars image a few times in Daffodil Delight.
Using the 6th-from-largest Everyday Arches die (as shown above), I cut out the sentiment – then I used my Paper Trimmer to cut off all but the top 2″ of the die cut.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the sentiment piece behind the Daffodil Delight die cut arch. Then, I adhered the whole thing to the bottom panel of the step easel panel.
For the back panel, I stamped the Everyday Arches sentiment in Boho Blue ink on a Basic White panel. Then I added the airplane silhouette and stars – and an Iridescent Faceted Gem.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the panel to a Boho Blue mat and then to the back of the main card base. See how it covers the “seam” where the easel panel is adhered at the top? 🙂
I added a galaxy of Iridescent Faceted Gems to the front of the main card base – and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Everyday Arches airplane silhouette and stars on the front…
…and more Everyday Skies 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! How fun is this Everyday Arches stamp set – with it’s awesome curved sentiments for so many occasions – and the coordinating dies (that are going to give you another shape to play with on lots of different projects!)? I love it! And the Everyday Skies 6″ x 6″ DSP is…stunning! With its hand-painted cloudscapes on one side showing the sky at different times of the day and more “generic” designs on the flip side – it’s one you are going to LOVE playing with – when you can get them, that is….on 7 Jan 2025!! 😎
I hope you like!
