Stampin’ Up! Delicate Details Treat Box in Hues of Happiness

Good Monday, y’all!  Hope your weekend was great and that your week ahead is smooth and easy!  We had a very good visit with my friend Sally and I was sad to see her leave yesterday.  She’s that friend that, no matter how much time goes by between visits, it’s like no time has passed at all.  I hope each and every one of you has just such a friend! 🙂

My card today isn’t a card at all – it’s a sweet treat holder!  I made it with the new Delicate Details Treat Boxes and some pretty die cut flowers from the Hues of Happiness DSP.

Stampin’ Up! Gingerbread & Peppermints Square Gift Boxes with Video Tutorial

Well – November is winding down FAST, huh?  It’s already the LAST Sunday of the month.  Wow.

Just.  WOW!  😳😳😳 Hope the long weekend went well.  Tell me….do you have your Christmas tree up yet??  I do not.

Yet! 😉

If you were able to join me for my Facebook live video last evening, I appreciate you spending part of your holiday weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to watch the replay…here ’tis!

I had a friend – and Critters-N-Creatin’ Krew team member! – ask me to help her figure out how to modify a little gift box that she’d seen over at Nigezza Creates.  She wanted something a little bigger that would fit some chocolate.  You KNOW I am all about MORE chocolate, so…I stuck my engineer hat on and…came up with a 1 1/2″ Square Treat box with the fun and Christmas-y Gingerbread & Peppermints 6″ x 6″ DSP – plus…a few little tags and sentiments here and there.  Take a look-see:

While I was making it, I thought…wonder if I couldn’t just give y’all (and myself!) a handy formula so that you could create whatever size box you needed (within the constraints of your cardstock size, of course!).  And…so I did.  And made a 2 3/4″ Square Gift Box, too!

The basics are the same for any size – and the Box Size you WANT is the starting point for all the calculations!

For the 1 1/2″ square, I started with a 5″ x 6 1/4″ piece of Real Red cardstock.  Using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool, I scored along the long side at 1 1/2″, 3″, 4 1/2″ and 6″.  Then I rotated the cardstock to put the short side up and scored at 1/4″, 1 3/4″, 3 1/4″ and 4 3/4″.

I used scissors to cut flaps and tabs…

..as you can see here (and at about the 7:45 point in the video!).

I used my Paper Snips to trim rounded corners on the large tabs.

In the video, I matted the small DSP squares on Basic White and then adhered them to the square panels of the box base.

I selected my “top” and used the very top of the head on the Snowman Builder Punch to cut a “thumb” hole.

Then I added Liquid Glue the small tab on the right side of the base in the picture above.  I closed the box together – check the video at about the 19 minute mark to see how!

I used a sentiment from the Peaceful Cabin stamp set and stamped it in Old Olive on Basic White.  Then I cut it with a small tag die from the Ornate Frames die set.  I also cut a Real Red tag.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the two little tags together – slightly offset but with the tiny holes lined up.

I ran a piece of white Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essential Pack thru the hole and tied a little bow.  I adhered the tag with a Glue Dot.

Using the small circle die in the Gingerbread Die set, I cut a small Basic White circle.  Then I cut the coordinating “peppermint swirl” die cut in Real Red.  I adhered the swirl to the circle with Liquid Glue, then popped it on the end of the tag with a Stampin’ Dimensional – and the box was done!

The large box has some Real Red 3/8″ Mini Ruffled Ribbon and a tag made with the Giving Gifts and Tailored Made Tags die sets.

I adhered the  Basic White Tailored Made Tag to the back of the Real Red detailed cut with Liquid Glue – adhering “bad” side to “bad” side.  That left the nicer “front” side visible on the back – where I stamped an Old Olive sentiment from the Festive & Bright set.

Et Voila!  I love this little Square Gift Box – whether it’s 1″, 1 1/2″ or a “huge” (😉) 2 3/4″!  Note:  2 3/4″ is about as big as you can get with 12″ x 12″ cardstock!

While I’ve used the Gingerbread & Peppermints DSP here – you can use whatever DSP suits your occasion!  Look thru your stamps and dies (although you NEED the Ornate Frames, Tailor Made Tags and Giving Gifts Die Sets – just saying!) and use the sentiments that you’ve got! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Pines Paper Pumpkin Gift Box for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  We’ve got a theme challenge, today (a really TIMELY challenge!) – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

So – last week I made a cool Christmas card with the Poinsettia Dies and some Poinsettia Place DSP.  I thought it would be fun to make a coordinating project that I could use as we head into gift-giving season!  So…out came the Poinsettia Petals Bundle, the Beautiful Boughs Dies and more of the pinecone-strewn Poinsettia Place DSP.  Then, to hold my gift…a Mini Paper Pumpkin Box (my favorite little gift box from Stampin’ Up! ever!!).  Take a look-see:

And here’s our oh-so-timely theme challenge! 🙂

I figured this one was – once again! – perfect for the TGIF challenge this week!

I started with a Mini Paper Pumpkin Box – these are so cool!  I love that they’re food-safe on the inside – perfect! – and they’re a super size for gifting homemade goodies!  Once you decorate them – they’d be the bomb-diggity as stocking stuffers, too!

I used the Bronze Brushed Metallic cardstock and matted four strips of Poinsettia Place DSP and the large piece for the top of the box using Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the four strips around the edge of the box.

On the top, I used Glue Dots to adhere two lengths of 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim longways and crossways – like ribbon around a present.  Then I popped the panel onto the top of the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I pulled out the Poinsettia Dies and got busy.  First, I cut a flower from the Poinsettia Place DSP.  I also took a minute to fussy cut some of the smaller middle petals from another flower.

I also cut some Bronze Brushed Metallic cardstock berries.

Using the Beautiful Boughs dies, I cut a large Mossy Meadow bough, a medium Old Olive bough, a large and small solid pinecone from the Bronze Brushed Metallic cardstock and the large and small detailed pinecones from Crumb Cake.

Yes, ya’ll – with no “it needs to fit in a Medium Envelope” requirements to hold me back – I shucked the reins and let my collage-freak flag fly! 😉

I adhered a couple of the metallic berries to the box top with Liquid Glue – sliding them under the twine.  Then I adhered the large Mossy Meadow die cut.

I tied a big loopy bow with two lengths of 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I adhered the pine cone pieces together and added them – along with the Old Olive die cut bough and final berry die.

On a couple of strips of Very Vanilla cardstock, I individually stamped the two words in the Poinsettia Petals stamp set in Early Espresso.  I snipped banner ends in both pieces and – sliding them into the collage – adhered them with Liquid Glue.

Using some stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals, I added the large die cut poinsettia flower.  Then I used more Dimensionals to pop the fussy cut smaller petals onto the flower.

And – y’all?  That’s it!  AKA….Et Voila!

My collage-loving soul is SOOOO happy with this!  And – check out how it looks with that card from last week!

Just enough differences to not be all matchy-matchy!  If you’d like to see how I made that one, it’s right here!

I think that the Poinsettia Petals Bundle and Poinsettia Place DSP makes it abundantly obvious that Poinsettias and Pines go together like peanut butter and jelly!  Or…the Captain and Tennille! 😉 Thankfully, we’ve ALSO got the Beautiful Boughs dies to make our theme complete!

I hope you LOVE this as much as I do!

Stampin’ Up! Curvy Keepsake Tags Tags and Tags!!

Wow.  Can you even believe it’s Friday again!  Something has happened to the space-time continuum, I’m pretty sure.  A shift in the Force.  And warp in the weft.  Something!  Time.  Is.  Flying!

A few weeks back, I did a Saturday evening video sharing a whole stable full of Mini Curvy Keepsake treat boxes – from wintery to Thanksgiving-y to Halloween-y….Click the pic to go to that post and see the video, if you like!

Today, based on my friend Amy Koender’s adorable reindeer that she made this week – and a picture of a spooky Halloween cakeball I saw on Pinterest – I created a NEW member of my Mini Curvy Keepsake Stable – with the help of an easy tag from the Tags Tags Tags Bundle.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Mini Curvy Keepsake Sneak Peek Across the Seasons!

Mornin’, y’all!  Happy Sunday!

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video – I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not – but would like to watch the replay – here ’tis!

I showed off several projects last night that have a common denominator…the brand new Mini Curvy Keepsake Die and bundled Tiny Keepsakes Stamp Set – both coming soon in the 2019 Holiday Catalog!  Take a look-see:

On the video, we made the Come To Gather box…

…and the Snowman box…

I just showed the others!

The first is a Halloween box – using the Monster Bash DSP cut with the Mini Curvy Keepsake die – with a Spooktacular Bash tag!  You can see how to make this tag on the video, too! 🙂

Then we had one for a birthday – with a masculine bent!  I used the Come Sail Away DSP, Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine, Sail Away Trinkets and a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set on this one.  The sentiment was cut with an Ornate Frames die (coming soon in the 2019 Holiday Catalog).  Y’all – this die set is SO handy to have!

Finally – I shared a little box that would be perfect for Mother’s Day, a Red Hat luncheon, Baby/Bridal Shower, church gathering – and probably tons more!  It uses the new Feels Like Frost Specialty DSP, the Leaf Punch, some flowers from the Lovely Flowers Die set, a sentiment from Piece of Cake, some Noble Peacock Rhinestones – and the heart label die from the Tiny Keepsake stamp set.

So – I hope you can see that this wonderful little Mini Curvy Keepsake Die is an awesome jumping off point for tons and gobs and oodles of fun projects!  And each box takes just one 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP or card stock, with no adhesive required for the box.  Make the box lickety-split and then…decorate to your heart’s content!  I hope you like!

So – if you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video – thanks.  I hope you had a good time – it was sort of fun designing on the fly as a group, wasn’t it?  If you didn’t get to watch, but would like to see the fun after-the-fact, here’s the Memorex on YouTube!

The sneak peek I gave you yesterday was a Baker’s Box that I’d colored using Stampin’ Spritzers and Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink Refills.  The video shows how I did that!

For the sample box, I used the cool Tin Tile Dynamic TIEF and the new Country Home bundle to decorate it after I was thru coloring it.  Take a look-see:

On last night’s video, we decorated our colored box using elements from the Cauldron Bubble Bundle!

The video explains the coloring process – so take a quick gander at that!

Decorating the sides of the boxes was the same for each design.  In both cases, I matted either an embossed card stock panel or a piece of the Toil & Trouble DSP on a color coordinating mat and then adhered them to the sides with Liquid Glue.  On the front panel, I punched a half-circle with my 3/4″ Circle Punch.

From there, it was a matter of “frosting the cake”!  Each box started with some Chicken Wire Elements, snipped down and adhered with Liquid Glue.

I cut several images from the Toil & Trouble DSP using their dies in the Cauldron Framelits to decorate the Halloween Box – as well as two spider webs from Black Foil.  I also punched a Black Foil bat with the Spooky Bats punch!

The sides of the Fall box are Crumb Cake card stock, embossed in the Tin Tile Dynamic TIEF, then lightly sponged with Soft Suede ink.  The sentiment banner is an image from the Country Home stamp set, stamped on Crumb Cake in Early Espresso.  I colored the cotton balls with my White Watercolor Pencil and snipped a banner end.

I stamped the sentiment in Cajun Craze on a thinner strip of Crumb Cake and bannerized it, too.  Then I adhered it to the larger banner with a little Liquid Glue and slid a Galvanized Clip on the left end.

I wrapped some 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim around the box and tied a knot on the top.  Then I added a Linen Thread Billie-bow and a second “regular” bow with the Braided Trim.  Then I slid the sentiment banner under the bow and secured it in place with a Glue Dot under the Galvanzied Clip.

And that was it, folks!  These new Baker’s Boxes are perfectly sized for a deluxe donut or a few gourmet cookies.  Or…candy!  Or…whatever!  And you can just decorate them to your heart’s content!  Fall – with the Country Home Bundle – would be perfect!  And Halloween is almost here!  Cauldron Bubble and a little Toil & Trouble make super fun treat boxes!  Hope you like!

FAST FUSE ADDED TO CLEARANCE RACK (WHILE SUPPLIES LAST)

Fast Fuse Adhesive

If you’re like us, you thought the days of Fast Fuse were done at Stampin’ Up! (You know . . . because we had already retired the product and everything!) However, our vendor reached out to us because they manufactured a surplus of Fast Fuse applicators and refills, and they offered to sell their excess Fast Fuse inventory to us. We took them up on their offer and purchased 2,500 Fast Fuse applicators and 72,000 Fast Fuse refills.

One of the reasons SU! decided to buy this product was because of feedback they received letting them know that some of you still wanted to purchase Fast Fuse applicators and refills, and this was the perfect opportunity to make it available once again through the Clearance Rack. Fast Fuse refills will be available to you for more than 50% off their original price! Because supplies are limited, you should go right to the online store to place your order instead of waiting to place a workshop order.  These’ll go fast, y’all!

Finn Fan Fix

On Sunday, I was walking from the bedroom back to the kitchen.

And I noticed Finn.

Sleeping.

Finn sleeping is not unusual.

This, though.

THIS…

These are just things that make you scratch your head and think…wait…what?!?

Stampin’ Up! Wood Textures Easter Basket (weave!)

Happy happy Hawwwwmp day!  Hope your week is going well!

Before I get to the project for today – I need to clarify something on the twist-and-pop-up card measurements.  I’d inadvertently put a bad measurement for the “mechanism” on the blog posts for the two cards I made.  Here’s the real numbers:  2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.  I’ve fixed the posts already to reflect the correct numbers – but…if you’ve been trying to make one of your own – this measurement will work much more better! 🙂

Okay – now that that’s out of the way, let’s get started! The other day at our team meeting, we made a fun little 3-D project that Amy designed for us.  I decided to do a little bit of modification and add a few little fun goodies.  It uses the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF….the Daisy Punch and…the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.  Take a look-see:

The little basket is fun and easy! Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Tin of Tags Christmas Treat Box

Hey, y’all!  It’s Monday and we’re back at it, huh?  Had a busy Sunday – it was our quarterly Amy’s Inkin’ Krew meeting – the one where we get together in person!  We have lunch, then Amy goes over some business, then we make projects!  This time around, we made a treat box using the Tin of Tags stamp set and the Envelope Punch Board and two cards using the 2017 Occasions Catalog stamp set Lift Me Up and the matching Up & Away Thinlits.  I’ll show you the treat box in just a sec.

But first – Finn.

Is a weirdo goofus McGillicuty!

finn-in-the-kennel
Yes.  He’s asleep.  Please notice the butt on the back bolster and the schnoozzle pushed against the bars of the kennel.  I don’t know how to explain this pose.  I have no idea why he got into it or how.  Or why he stayed there.

My only explanation is…goofy. 😉

So today, we started our projects by making a super cute little treat box with the Envelope Punch Board.  This project was first seen on SplitCoast Stampers – and here’s a link to the Mini File Box tutorial by Chris Slogar.  We used the Tin of Tags stamp set and a Stitched Shapes Framelit.  Take a look-see:

treat-file-box-1-stamps-n-lingers
We made the “mini file box” from Basic Black card stock, using the Tutorial.  It’s super easy and quick and starts with just a 6″ x 6″ piece of card stock or DSP.  Use Tear & Tape Adhesive and the Mini Handheld Stapler to assemble the box.

Once it was together, we wrapped a length of Real Red 3/4″ Stitched Edge Ribbon around it and popped the sentiment over the top with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The sentiment, from Tin of Tags, is stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink on Whisper White, then cut with a Stitched Shapes Framelits die.  Then it was matted on a Real Red scalloped edge square, cut with a Squares Layering Framelit.

We cut a few little holly leaves from Garden Green card stock, using the Holly Berry Builder Punch and adhered them with a little Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  We finished it off with a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels, colored with a Red Sharpie and added a Gusseted Cellophane Bag, filled with candy and tied with a piece of Real Red Baker’s Twine!

Here’s the two cards we made, using the Lift Me Up Bundle and some Carried Away DSP – which you’ll be able to get for FREE when you purchase $50 before shipping and tax during Sale-A-Bration.

Stampin’ Up! Going Places Mini Murse in a Box

All my bags are packed (sort of)…..

I’m ready to go (mostly)….

I’m standing’ here – outside your door (no – don’t go to the door, I’m not really there)….

Already I’m so tired-of-traveling I could cry-ai-ai…..ai ai…. 🙂

No – I don’t intend to quit my day job and take up singing or song-writing!

But, I am getting close to being ready to head out.  I mailed home three boxes today – so heavy I could hardly carry them (thank goodness for if-it-fits-it-ships pricing!) and even threw my back out (why not?!?) and I’m still worried about how heavy my luggage will be.  I think if I’m going to keep doing this travel-around-for-work thing, I’m going to need a motor home, specially equipped with a stamping room! Whatcha think? 😉

So, today’s post is quick.  I’ll be adding a tutorial over on the Tutorials page (seems like a good place to put it, yes?) with the details on making these cute little treat boxes.  I got the idea from Kristi Gray, a fellow Happy Stamper, who shared her little treat boxes that she’d made after seeing a tutorial from Sam Donaldson, in the UK.  I was tickled to see them – cuz they use 6″ x 6″ paper!  Which is about all I had here in Arizona.  And – you make them with the Envelope Punch Board, which I’d carefully carried all the way here and never used.  Cuz I didn’t have any paper big enough to make an envelope with – yes, pretty awesome planning!

As soon as I saw them, I got the idea to make a little bag in a box for the folks in my team here.  I used Going Places DSP – cuz it’s mostly guys!  Take a look-see:
