Stampin’ UP! Poetic Petals Moonlit Fern Never-Ending Book Fold Congratulations Card With Video

Good mornign and happy Weekend-eve!  Yup – it’s Friday again!  Whoo-hoo!

And since weekends are fun I have a super fun fun fold card for you today!  It’s a sort of Never-Ending card – that I put into a Book-Fold card! Double your fun fold!  I used a few patterns from the Moonlit Flora DSP and decorated it with elements from the Poetic Petals and Fern & Flora bundles!  Take a look-see:

My friend Becky sent me a link to this kind of card – made by Libby Fens.  Libby’s was a square card and…I don’t really do sqaure cards.  But I DO love book-fold cards and THOSE give you a square to work with.  So…BOOM!

Note: the hardest piece of this is choosing your DSP – isolating the “scene” you want to showcase – and cutting the various pieces so that they fold/open in the right way!

I started with a 4 1/8″ x 10 3/4″ piece of Moonlit Flora DSP that I scored at 4 1/8″ and 5 3/8″.

I used Liquid Glue between the two closest score lines (4 1/8″ and 5 13/8″) – then pressed the front panel to the back – this adhered them together and created the book-fold panel.

I wrapped a length of Berry Burst 1/4″ Shiny Ribbon around the book panel – securing it in the back with Mini Glue Dots.  Then I adhered the whole thing to my 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Secret Sea cardstock.  Then I wrapped a short length of the ribbon around the ribbon on the card, tied an overhand knot and snipped the ends – that’s a “faux bow”! 😎

From the middle of a 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I used a Poetic Petals flower and square die to cut out a flowered square.  To the remaining frame, I used Liquid Glue to adhere a 2 3/8″ x 2 3/8″ piece of Secret Sea Moonlit Flora DSP.  Then I popped the white flower over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a Poetic Petals sentiment in Berry Burst ink and a Fern & Flora butterfly in Secret Sea.  I colored the butterfly with the Dark Soft Sea Foam and Dark Berry Burst Stampin’ Blends.

I cut out the sentiment with a Stylish Shapes banner die and the butterfly with the coordinating Fern & Flora die.

I adhered the sentiment and the butterfly with Stampin’ DImensionals.  I colored three clear Dewdrops Embellishments with the Dark Berry Burst Stampin’ Blend, added them to the card front and the card front was done.

For the inside – I made three progressively smaller cards from Moonlit Flora DSP.  Here’s where I had to pay attention to the direction of my DSP for the “fronts” of each little card and where the fold needed to be!

The first card is a 3 3/8″ x 6 3/4″ piece of Moonlit Flora DSP – scored at 3 3/8″ and folded so that the fold would be at the bottom.

I opened the folded panel and stamped a Poetic Petals sentiment in Berry Burst on the top inside panel.  I inked just the word “absolutely” in Berry burst and stamped the panel.  Then I inked just “incredible” – covered “absolutely” with a sticky note – and stamped the second word under the first.

Then I stamped a small Fern & Flora butterfly in Secret Sea ink.

I adhered the top of the panel to a 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Secret Sea cardstock and then to the middle of the back panel of the fun fold.

For the next card, I scored a 2 1/2″ x 5″ piece of Moonlit Flora DSP at 2 1/2″ and folded it so that the fold is on the left side.

On the right inside panel, I adhered two Fern & Flora die cut leaves – one in Basic White cardstock and one in Golden Glow 2026-2028 In Color Pearlized Paper.

Then I stamped a small Fern & Flora butterfly and colored him with Soft Sea Foam and Berry Burst Blends. I cut him out with his coordinating die and adhered him with Liquid Glue.

Then I used Liquid Glue on the back panel and adhered it to a 2 5/8″ x 2 5/8″ piece of Secret Sea cardstock and then to the bottom panel of the first inside card.

The final, smallest, card – is a 1 5/8″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Moonlit Flora DSP, folded at 1 5/8″ with the fold at the top.

I stamped another Poetic Petals sentiment in Berry Burst on a 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ piece of Basic White cardstock and adhered it to the inside of the little card.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the card to a 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ piece of Secret Sea cardstock and then to the left panel of the middle card – and the front part of the card was done!

For the back panel, I stamped a small fern from Fern & Flora twice on a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Then I stamped the butterfly in Secret Sea and colored it with the Dark Soft Sea Foam and Dark Berry Burst Stampin’ Blend.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the back of the card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Fern & Flora ferns and butterfly on the front…

…and more Moonlit Flora DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Wow – this was such a fun card to make – so many ways to showcase our gorgeous DSPs!  I love that so much of this card is made with DSP (versus cardstock) – which helps to keep the thickness down!! Moonlit Flora DSP is a favorite for me so it was an easy choice!  Then adding some Poetic Petals and Fern & Flora sentiments and images and die cuts was…a no-brainer!   I know you’re going to see me do this fold again, y’all!  Maybe for a Christmas card!
