Happy half-weekend, y’all! Hope it’s going well! 🙂
Today’s Christmas card – number seven in my Twelve Saturdays of Christmas Cards – isn’t a “card” at all! It’s a sweet little Box of Joy – decorated as a Christmas treat box with the A Little Christmas DSP! Take a look-see:
This little guy is super easy to make and is about…2 1/2″ x 3″…so it’ll hold a little battery votive candle or…candy! Making it a fun stocking stuffer, teacher/postman gift, table gift, etc!
To make the box – I used the large die in the Box of Joy set to cut out two Mossy Meadow pieces.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a 2 1/8″ x 2 3/8″ piece of A Little Christmas DSP to the front panel of one of the die cuts.
Using the middle label die in the Box of Joy set, I cut out a “window” from that panel.
I used some Stampin’ Seal to adhere a 2 1/8″ x 2 1/8″ piece of Vellum Specialty Paper behind the window.
Using the largest and middle label dies in the set – I cut out a Cherry Cobbler frame.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere it over the “window” on the box die cut.
Using Liquid Glue on the little tab on one of the die cuts – I adhered the two pieces together to form one long piece.
Then, using Liquid Glue, I adhered a 2 1/8″ x 2 3/8″ piece of A Little Christmas DSP to the back panel and 2 1/8″ x 2 1/8″ pieces of the DSP to the side panels.
Finally, I put Liquid Glue on the remaining tab and used it to bring the box sides together. Liquid Glue on a bottom flap panel closed up the bottom of the box.
I used the bow die in the Box of Joy set – and the Impressions Plate – to cut out a pretty bow from Gold Foil. I popped it above the window with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped a Box of Joy sentiment in Mossy Meadow Ink. I used the largest label die to cut it out. Then I placed one of the little decorative flourish dies at the top and ran it back thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.
I repeated that process – with a second sentiment (the “to” “from”) sentiment – to create a second tag.
Using a regular old hole punch (from the grocery store!) I cut a larger hole in the middle of the flourish.
Then – cuz I couldn’t help myself – I stamped a fun second sentiment on the back of my “You Deserve a Little Treat” tag…
I thought it would be fun for the recipient to find it as they opened the box up! 🙂
Using some Multicolor Christmas Baker’s Twine, I tied the tags around the top of the box.
And that’s it, y’all – it’s so easy!
To close things up – put your treats (or whatever!) inside, pull the two handle thru the slit in the side top panels, add your tag and – done!
Et Voila! Quick and easy – the Box of Joy is a perfect size for so many gifty occasions! Decorated for Christmas – the A Little Christmas DSP is just right for that – or…whatever occasion you need. There are dies and sentiments in the bundle to cover a…LOT! Did you see the candles?!?
I mentioned that it’s a good size to hold a little battery-operated votive…
…and I think it looks so pretty. Wouldn’t that be fun on a Christmas buffet table? Or as place settings for dinner? How about decorated for a wedding reception? The possibilities for this little box are immense!
I hope you like! 🙂
