Happy happy Hawwwwmp day! Hope your week is going well!
Before I get to the project for today – I need to clarify something on the twist-and-pop-up card measurements. I’d inadvertently put a bad measurement for the “mechanism” on the blog posts for the two cards I made. Here’s the real numbers: 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. I’ve fixed the posts already to reflect the correct numbers – but…if you’ve been trying to make one of your own – this measurement will work much more better! 🙂
Okay – now that that’s out of the way, let’s get started! The other day at our team meeting, we made a fun little 3-D project that Amy designed for us. I decided to do a little bit of modification and add a few little fun goodies. It uses the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF….the Daisy Punch and…the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. Take a look-see:
The little basket is fun and easy!
First off, I cut two pieces of the Wood Textures DSP (3 3/4″ x 6″) and embossed both of them in the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF. I also cut a strip for the handle, and embossed it, too.
Then I scored lines in each panel and snipped a little here and a little there…
I put Tear & Tape Adhesive on the tabs – I used two strips on each tab.
And then stuck the panels together…
Once the “box” was formed, I used more Tear & Tape on the bottom flaps and close up the bottom. To finish the basket, I used Tear and Tape on the ends of the embossed strip and stuck it to the inside top.
I used a Glue Dot to secure a length of Calypso Coral ribbon from the 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon Pack (in the Sale-A-Bration flyer – free with a $50 purchase for another couple of days!) around the basket. The leaves are cut with the die from the Sweet Cake Frameltis in Lemon Lime Twist and adhered with Liquid Glue.
As I’m sure you’ve guessed, the flower is from the Daisy Punch. I punched two from Daffodil Delight and one from the Irridescent Glimmer Paper in the Myths & Magic 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper Pack. I adhered them all together and then added a Gold Faceted Gem.
I put a Stampin’ Dimensional on the back of the flower and wound some Linen Thread around a few times, then added the Daisy to the basket.
The sentiment, from the You’re Inspiring stamp set, is stamped in Calypso Coral on Whisper White and punched with the Classic Label Punch. I popped it on with Dimensionals – and the basket was done!
So – I know you’re checking out the little cuties nestled on the silver Sweet Soiree Ready Shreddie! Our friend Sue Prather taught us how to make Peeps with the Cookie Cutter Builder punch!
I punched a bunch of them from all the colors in the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper pack. To make a gingerbread man into a bunny – trim the arms off – leaving little bumps for cheeks! Then punch eyes and a mouth with the 1/16″ Handheld Circle Punch.
Et Voilal! I stuck them all in their little basket and they’re ready to go! This is a cute little treat holder – easy to make and big enough to hold Easter treats or a decorated egg! The Daisy Punch and the You’re Inspiring stamp set go together perfectly to help create these little Easter goodies. Wouldn’t they be fun favors for your big Easter feast next Sunday? Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix
The other day, Finn found a stick.
Well. More like a branch.
Or – a sapling!
It pretty much kicked his pantaloonies!
But – he finally got it under control. And dragged it – ever so helpfully! – right into the middle of the driveway!
Later – after he wasn’t around to protest, I moved it off the driveway (if I’d driven over it – I’d have had to crawl under the van and pry it out of the undercarriage with a crow-bar!).
He wasn’t pleased when he discovered my perfidy.
So – he brought it back.
To where he wanted it in the first place.
Smack in the middle of the driveway. 🙁
Sigh…

Oh, love the DSP for the basket! Great idea! And those “bunny” punches are too cute. 🙂 Finn is cracking me up…see, he told you that he wanted the big branch there. It’s right in the middle of the driveway so that he can find it back easily tomorrow. 😉 Ha!
That’s true – it IS easy to lose a particular sapling in a forest! I hadn’t considered the trouble I was causing him! Thanks much, Amy! 🙂
This is adorable.. love how you used the gingerbread man punch for the bunny… very clever. Thank you for the detailed instructions …
All credit for the bunnies goes to Sue Prather! Thanks so much! 🙂
Adorable basket! And the bunnies! I would have NEVER thought to do that! Thumbs up SUE!
Can you imagine what Finn was thinking when he saw that you had moved HIS sapling???
Yep – probably something along the lines of…Et tu, Brute? 🙂 That Sue’s a clever lady, indeed! Thanks, Julie! 🙂
Nifty little box-ket!
Finn the funny fixer. Herding is serous business. And, I guess, so is hunting and gathering!
Thanks! And yes – it’s hard enough when someone isn’t coming right behind you messing up all your hard work! 🙁
