Stampin’ Up! Honey Bee Bonanza for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

So.  Can you believe that the Honey Bee stamp set and coordinating Detailed Bee Dies are RETIRING!??!  Waaaaaaaaa!!!!  😢😢😢

I know.  I feel your pain.  But – the fact remains – they ARE retiring.  As is the fun and festive Birthday Bonanza DSP.  Which means you need to be sure you grab it ALL up now – only the stamp set is guaranteed to be around thru the end of the catalog on 2 Jun – the rest are only while supplies last!

Perhaps the card I made for you today will help you decide to act right now!

And here’s the color palette we were all working with!

I kind of loosely based my layout on the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches this week!

I started with some paper from the Birthday Bonanza DSP that I matted on Bermuda Bay for the card front.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the bee skep from Honey Bee in Grapefruit Grove.

A skep could TOTALLY be Grapefruit Grove colored! 😉

Above it, I added the curved sentiment in Bermuda Bay.

I used my Journaling Pen to do a little doodling around the outline of the skep – adhered the panel to a Bermuda Bay mat and onto the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the little bee in Tuxedo Black on Whisper White – and the Hello sentiment in Bermuda Bay.   I cut the bee with the matching die in the Detailed Bee dies and the sentiment with the Classic Label Punch.

Using my Light Bermuda Bay and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend Markers, I colored the wing and body of the bee.  Then I adhered the sentiment with Liquid Glue and popped the bee on with a Black Stampin’ Dimensional.

I tied a bow with some Grapefruit Grove twine from the Nature’s Twine Pack (this is ALSO retiring!) and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I also colored some Pearl Basic Jewels with the Dark Daffodil Delight Blend and adhered them around the card front and on the sentiment – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Honey Bee sentiment in Bermuda Bay to a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the little bee in Tuxedo Black and colored it with the Light Bermuda Bay and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend Markers.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Bermuda Bay mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more bees on the front…

…and I added more of the Birthday Bonanza DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I do love the Honey Bee stamp set and the super-cool Detailed Bee Dies, don’t you?  And there’s nothing like the Birthday Bonanza DSP for a fun and cheerful card!  These goodies – plus the Nature’s Twine Pack and all-things Grapefruit Grove – are all leaving on 2 June!  So…don’t miss out.

I hope you like!
