Stampin’ Up! Window Shopping Birthday Candles – Two Ways!

Happy Hawmp Day, y’all!  I’m one day and a wake-up away from heading to Savannah!  OnStage here I come!  Oh – and CenterStage, too!!  Whoo-hoo!  When I get back, I’m gonna be full of new ideas and in possession of the new catalog, some fun swag (stamp sets and new papers and….oh, who knows what goodness there will be!!)  I tell ya – it’s a great time of the year to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!! 🙂

My card for today comes from the Window Shopping bundle – available now in the Occasions catalog as a 10% off bundle! – and is a quick and easy Birthday card!  Take a look-see:

Pssst…that’s Night of Navy even though it looks like its black! 🙂

I did a CASE-piration from the Succeed Magazine (Stampin’ Up! publication for demonstrators) for the idea for the card.

The color scheme is from the Global Design Project color challenge this week…

I made this card as a smaller Note Card – perfect for adding to the inside of a gift box!

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock.  First, I cut the Window Box Thinlits candles and then I stamped the sentiment from the Window Shopping stamp set in Night of Navy, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to position it where I wanted it.

Behind the candles, using some dabs of Liquid Glue, I adhered a small piece of So Saffron card stock (behind the flames) and a piece of Night of Navy card stock (behind the candles).  Then I SNAILd the panel to a So Saffron mat and then to a Night of Navy mat.

I wrapped a piece of Night of Navy Solid Baker’s Twine around the panel and tied a small bow.  To finish it off, I used my So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker to gently color the bottom parts of the sentiment.  I added a few So Saffron Enamel Shapes and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added the cupcake image from the Window Shopping stamp set across the bottom of a Whisper White panel in So Saffron.

I SNAILd the panel to So Saffron and Night of Navy mats and into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

I used an envelope from the Whisper White Note Cards and Envelopes set, and stamped more So Saffron Window Shopping cupcakes across the front…

And I added a second Window Shopping sentiment in Night of Navy to the envelope flap, plus another couple of cupcakes.

Here’s where I’d usually say “Et Voila!” – but first…

I made the same card – but used Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette to make it a more feminine card!  Same.  Exact.  Card.  Different color scheme!  Easy Peasy!

Et Voila!  This is a really fun bundle – and this card doesn’t even get to the actual box that’s made with the Window Box Thinlits.

Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Large Number Balloon Adventures for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

15822762_10211923272945503_223384966683691578_n

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  It’s color week and I hope that you’ll take a few minutes to check out all our projects!  And then maybe you’ll make them for yourselves!

The colors were pretty challenging for me – it’s a combination I likely wouldn’t have selected myself…

I needed a birthday card for a young man who turned two just a week or so ago.  And the Party Animal suite uses these colors, so…I figured…there ya go, Mare!  There’s the answer.  I added in some Large Numbers Framelits and the fun Balloon Adventures bundle and…take a look-see:

I started with an Emerald Envy card base and, using the confetti/sprinkles image in the Balloon Adventure stamp set, stamped it a couple of times across the front of the card.

My middle panel is a piece of Whisper White, matted on Crumb Cake card stock.  In the middle, I stamped a “balloon string” from Balloon Adventures in Crumb Cake.  And I added a sentiment in Emerald Envy at the bottom

.
I used the Balloon Bouquet Punch to cut a large balloon from Whisper White.  Over that, I adhered an Emerald Envy balloon cut with a Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits die.  For a little bling, I cut a second polka-dot balloon from Silver Glimmer Paper and adhered the little cut outs in the negative space.

I used the Number of Years stamp set and the Large Numbers Framelits for the center portion of the panel.  I cut a “2” from a piece of Party Animal DSP and one from Emerald Envy card stock.  Then I adhered them together – just a little offset to create a “shadow”.  I used the “nd” in Number of Years and stamped it in Emerald Envy, then popped the number on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside, I used the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits to create a fun element for this card.  I used a piece of Whisper White card stock  – scored in the middle – and cut it with the large pop-up die.  Then I used the solid balloon image in the Balloon Adventures stamp set to stamp the three balloons in the cut out in Emerald Envy and Crushed Curry.  I also stamped the middle balloon in Emerald Envy with the striped balloon image.

Next, I cut two more polka-dot balloons with the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits in Crushed Curry and added them with Liquid Glue to the green balloons.

The sentiment is stamped in Emerald Envy, with a Crushed Curry banner around it – both are from Balloon Adventures.  And I added a little Emerald Envy bow.

For the DSP panels, I matted some Party Animal DSP on Crumb Cake and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the large die cut panel.  I also added some Crumb Cake mats behind the side panels.

I carefully folded the die cut inner panel and burnished the creases, laid it flat and put Liquid Glue on just the side panels, and adhered it to the card base, which I’d laid flat on my work table.

Then I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a Balloon Adventures stamped balloon in Emerald Envy on the front.  I added a Crumb Cake “string” and then adhered one of the Silver Glimmer Paper cut outs over the top of the balloon …

…and added some more Party Animal DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Isn’t this a fun die cut?  Although the card is a little bulky feeling, I don’t think the recipient will have any idea that the inside of the card is going to be so cute and dramatic!  Hope you like – and will add it to your stash before it’s gone! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Large Numbers Balloon Celebration Birthday

‘Sup, y’all?  I hope that you’re getting ready for a fun and relaxing weekend!  I’ll be busily trying to get ahead on cards for the week – I’ll be out of town Monday thru Thursday!  And, for these short trips, I don’t take supplies and tools – I’m always so tired at the end of the work day that I don’t even have the energy to stamp. 🙁  I have to take cards ready to blog (oh – and I need their pictures with me, too!).  So….busy weekend!  But that’s a good kind of work, yes? – stamping and making cards.  Poor pitiful me! 😉

Today’s card is a birthday card.  For a little boy who’ll be turning one in a week.  Yes, I said one.

I’m pretty sure he’s going to have zero appreciation for this card.  Heck, he probably won’t even care about his present.  Maybe he’ll eat cake?  Ice Cream?  What do one year olds even eat, besides baby food?!?  Well, that’s for his parents to worry about – just like this card is really for his parents! 😉

I used the fun Large Numbers Framelits and its matching and bundled stamp set called Number of Years.  I added a few Balloon Celebration balloons and pulled out some Cherry on Top DSP.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Friends, Flowers and Party Pants Birthday!

Good Monday to y’all – did that weekend just fly by or what?!?  I hope that you had a chance to rest in addition to those pesky gotta-get-’em-done-before-Monday things that might have been on your list.  And maybe even do something fun!

My card share for today is a quick and simple one, that uses the fun new Occasions stamp set called Friends & Flowers.  This one is kinda cool, because it coordinates perfectly with the Festive Flower Builder Punch – remember that one from the Holiday flyer?  The one that made the cool Poinsettias??  Like this one right here!  So I combined that stamp set with some paper from the Have a Cuppa DSP stack….and some other little fun things from the new Sale-A-Bration set called Party Pants – and this is what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

Starry Starry Hi!

Feel free to sing the Blog title to the tune of Don McLean’s Starry Starry Night!  That’s what I heard in my head as I came up with the title of this post.  Kind of a random association – sorry….

In the ongoing saga of Mary’s Flat Learning Curve (coming soon to theaters near you), my card for today is another one I promised to my friend here at work – he wanted something to send to his kids, too.  Here’s the thing with kid cards – it helps to have KID stamps!  Which, not having actual KIDS (my horses have never ever, not even once, requested a card or been hurt by the lack thereof!!), I don’t have!  So – I had to stretch my creative brain and make something work.  I originally thought maybe I’d use the soon-to-be-gone From the Herd picture.  It’s cute and could easily be kid-friendly.  But, my creative (and tired!!) brain just couldn’t make it work (yes, I considered the famous Etch-a-Sketch card, but – I don’t have the correct framelits so….).  Bottom line – I decided to go a different route.  What I ended up with I think is great for pretty much any age – and I hope that the kids who receive it will like it!  Their dad’s been gone for a while, so I suspect they’re going to like ANYthing they get from him at this point!  And I’ve heard rumors there’s a Disney trip in their near future (she says enviously….)!

Any-who – here’s what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

Starry Hi Outside 1 Watermarked

Hmm.  My colors didn’t come out as true as I’d hoped – sorry!  These are two of the new In Colors for 2015-2017….Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron.  And, obviously, I also used the Stars Framelits (which made into the new catalog!).  I started with a panel of Mint Macaron, which I ran thru my Big Shot to cut the next-to-largest star, and then again in the new Boho Chic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Then, I laid my cut Mint mat over the top of my Watermelon Wonder card base, and cut out the next smallest star.  Here’s where my Magnetic Platform REALLY paid for itself.  I really needed the die to stay where I put it in order to ensure the cutouts matched up.  I hung on to the two star cutouts – you’ll see in a minute how I used them. (The next pic will give you a pretty good clue….!)

Starry Hi Outside 3 watermarked

I used a LOT of Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the embossed panel to the card base – I really wanted all the points of the star to be well supported so they hold up in the envelope.  Once the panel was on, I cut out a bunch of stars with the various size framelits as well as with my Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack star.  I used some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, some more of the Mint Macaron (that I also embossed with the Boho Chic TIEF) and – in a surfeit of economy – part of the leftover In Color Envelope paper from the envelope in my previous post!  I cut all the different sizes and played around with the layout for a while, then got busy with my Liquid Multi-Purpose Glue and got everything stuck down.  On the stars that hang off the edge of the center cut-out, I used teensy pieces of dimensionals to support them.  And that pretty much did it for the front!

Starry Hi Outside 2 watermarked

On the inside, I pulled out another of my brand new stamp sets – Layered Letters Alphabet – and lined them up on my clear block  – gotta love those photopolymers!! 🙂 I first SNAIL’d my big leftover Mint Macaron star in the center of the die cut opening.  Then, I used my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to ensure that I stamped the Memento Black word onto the Whisper White Liner, in the middle of my star opening.

Starry Hi Inside 1 watermarked

Then I had a little party with some more stars – no rhyme or reason, just kept adding until I liked it!  I pulled out my Rhinestone Basic Jewels and considered them for a while….then, kinda regretfully, decided I just didn’t need them.  Not for boy-kids!  If we’d been talking girl-kids, now….. 🙂  Sorry for the gender stereotyping!

I had a few more stars leftover (including the Watermelon Wonder card stock cut out – which I also ran thru the Boho Chic TIEF), so I decided to ornament a Medium Whisper White envelope with them.  I spread some Liquid Multi-purpose Glue onto the top 2/3 or so of the star, and adhered it on the envelope flap.  I put a little strip of Sticky Tape on the bottom of the star – that way once he’s enclosed the card, he can seal the flap and stick the rest of the star down – to help it make it through the post office!

Starry Hi with envelope 1 watermarked

And – done!  Dad was happy with this one, too – so I count that a complete success!  Hope that you guys enjoyed it as well.

When you see the products used in this card  (below), remember that you’ll be able to click on all of them, but you won’t be able to order the new products (the card stock, TIEF and Layered Letters Alphabet) until 2 June. But – don’t let that keep you from trying this – you could use any color combo, TIEF and sentiment.  Have fun with it!

See you tomorrow for the new Weekly Deals – which means, of course, that today is your last day for THIS week’s weekly deal!
