Stampin’ Up! Coastal Timeless Tropical Oasis for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

For today’s card, I went back to the gorgeous Tropical Oasis suite of goodies.  Uhm – you can get this TOMORROW!!  Whoo-hoo!!  I used the Timeless Tropical stamp set and bundled In The Tropics Die set, combined with some pretty “quiet” Tropical Oasis DSP.   Take a look-see:

And here’s the sketch!

I started with some solid-ish designed paper from the Tropical Oasis DSP and matted it on Grapefruit Grove for the card front.  the center panel is more Tropical Oasis DSP, embossed in the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder and matted on Grapefruit Grove.  I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped three sets of palm trees from the Timeless Tropical stamp set, using the marker-to-rubber coloring technique.  This technique is made super easy with the Stamparatus! Put the cardstock in place – put the stamp in place – and you can stamp as many times as you need – layering that color to make gorgeous images!

First I colored the leaves with Pear Pizzazz – using my Stampin’ Write Marker and directly inking the rubber stamp image.  Then I stamped it.  Next, I added some Old Olive and stamped it.  I also made one tree where I used Mint Macaron and Old Olive, for a little different look!  Each tree looks just a little different – even using the same colors on them.  Love!

I used the same technique for the trunks – using Soft Suede and Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Markers.  Then I cut the trees with their coordinating die in the In The Tropics Die set.

I cut another piece of the brown Tropical Oasis DSP and matted it on Grapefruit Grove.

I added two palm trees to the card front with Liquid Glue – leaving one trunk on the left-side tree “loose” so I could slide the small sentiment panel underneath.

I added the small panel with Liquid Glue – and then adhered that loose trunk down, too.

The final tree has Stampin’ Dimensionals under the leaves and Liquid Glue on the trunk.

I cut out three “aloha” sentiments from Grapefruit Grove using the die in In The Tropics.  These are adhered together in a stack with Liquid Glue – then adhered to the card front with more Liquid Glue.

An Old Olive gem from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones finished it off.

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Tropical Oasis in Grapefruit Grove on a Very Vanilla panel – then I stamped some trees in the same way that I’d done on the front.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Grapefruit Grove mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more of the Timeless Tropical trees on the front…

…and some more Tropical Oasis DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Timeless Tropical stamp set is absolutely perfect for coloring!  The images were just made for the marker-to-rubber technique – and really allow you to make some realistic looking trees!  And no one can deny the stunning beauty of the Tropical Oasis DSP, right?  Gorgeous!  I hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Woven Heirlooms So Sweetly Sentimental

Whheeeeeeeeeee (that’s me trying to type the sound one of those party doohickies make when you blow them….).  Hope you enjoyed the evening and are waking up bright eyed and bushy tailed – ready to get on with 2020!

I made a card for you guys that reflects how I feel about y’all, so I thought it would be a good one to share with you today! It uses the new So Sentimental bundle with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  And I pulled out a little Woven Heirlooms from the Annual Catalog, too.  Take a look-see:

If you’ve done any looking thru your new 2020 Jan-Jun Mini Catalog (I KNOW you have!) then this one might look a little familiar.  It’s a bit of a CASE of one of the samples!

I started with a panel of Terracotta Tile cardstock that I embossed in the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and then adhered it to the front of a Terracotta Tile card base with Liquid Glue.

The next panel is some Woven Heirlooms DSP, matted on Seaside Spray.

I pulled out the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and cut a Whisper White label.  Using a plain ole hole punch from the grocery store, I punched holes in both ends.  I popped the label onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I ran some Linen Thread thru and around the back of the panel – securing it with Glue Dots.

For the So Sentimental sentiment, I stamped it in Pretty Peacock on Seaside Spray and cut it with a Stitched So Sweetly die.  That’s adhered to the white label with Liquid Glue.

I tied a bow with two lengths of Linen Thread and stuck it on with a Glue Dot.  Then I added a Pretty Peacock gem from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones and…the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second So Sentimental sentiment in Pretty Peacock on a Whisper White panel.  Next to it, I added some fleur-de-do’s from the Woven Heirlooms stamp set in Rococo Rose.  A couple of Noble Peacock Rhinestones finished it off.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Seaside Spray mat and into the Terracotta Tile card base and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some fleur-de-do’s from Woven Heirlooms in Rococo Rose on the front…

…and a little more Woven Heirlooms DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is SUCH a great set – with the So Sentimental stamp set’s wonderful sentiments and the AWESOME Stitched So Sweetly dies, right??  I love it and I’m already hope-hope-HOPING that it’s planned for the next Annual Catalog.  LOVE those stitched labels SO much!  Speaking of the Annual catalog – don’t forget about the great goodies to be found there – like the Woven Heirlooms stamp set and DSP!  I hope you like!

So – the So Sentimental bundle is a part of my Special Bundle #8 – The Say it in Ink Bundle – as well as a whole bunch of other goodies – including the Grace’s Garden bundle, Witty-cisms and Music From The Heart (and more!).  Be sure to check it out!

AND – when you order this bundle, you’ll get a pack of Whisper White note Cards & Envelopes FREE and you’ll qualify for 3 $50 Sale-A-Bration rewards OR 1 $100 and 1 $50 reward.  What will YOU pick?!?  😉

Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday to You Honey Bee Sneak Peek

Good morning and happy New Years Eve on the last day of 2019 and the DECADE!!  Hope whatever plans you have for this evening will be fun and safe.  Ours include…bed.  Probably by 9:30 as usual.  MIGHT wake up around midnight IF we happen to hear any fireworks.  Chance are slim.

Yes.  We ARE party animals! 😉

Now – before I go any further… Stampin’ Up! just gave us news this morning.  Write this down!

Cutting Blades Multipack Available January 3

The Cutting Blades Multipack (item 152391) from the January–June 2020 Mini Catalog will be available on January 3, with the beginning of the catalog sales period. The pack includes four blades for $12.00!!

There are just a few more days before you can get your hands on the blades and ALL the great goodies I’ve been teasing you with for the past few weeks!  The new 2020 Jan-Jun Mini catalog and Sale-A-Bration flyer goes LIVE in just three days!!  Whoo-hoo!!

Speaking of new catalogs – I’ve got another little look at some of the Sale-A-Bration freebies.  The Happy Birthday To You stamp set (a $50 level item) and the Golden Honey Specialty DSP (also a $50 level item), pairs up with the Honey Bee Bundle from the 2020 Jan – Jun Mini Catalog.  Take a look-see:

This monochromatic color palette comes from this week’s Sunday Stamps color challenge!

I started by matting some of the Golden Honey Specialty DSP on So Saffron for the card front.  I colored the bees and flowers on the DSP with my So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker.

Then I cut a piece of So Saffron and one of Golden Honey Specialty DSP with the largest Stitched So Sweetly frame die.  I adhered them at an angle with Liquid Glue.  About here is where I realized I’d been hitting this “angled panel” layout pretty hard lately – sorry! 🙁

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped three flowers and the small bee from the Honey Bee set in Basic Gray ink.  Then I cut them all out with their matching dies in the Detailed Bee Dies (bundled with the Honey Bee stamp set!).  I colored the bee stripes and flowers with my So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker.

I stamped the sentiment from Honey Bee in Basic Gray on So Saffron and cut it out with the smallest Stitched So Sweetly frame die.

I adhered the flowers to the card front with Liquid Glue and popped the sentiment over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I stuck Mr. Bee on with Liquid Glue.

I tied a tiny Linen Thread bow and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue. Then I used my Dark So Saffron Stampin’ Blend to color a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and stuck them here and there.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped a big sentiment from the Happy Birthday To You stamp set in Basic Gray on Whisper White.  Then I added some little bees in Smoky Slate – colored with my Light So Saffron Stampin’ Blend.  I finished with a single Rhinestone Basic Jewel colored with the Dark So Saffron Blend.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a So Saffron mat and into my Basic Gray card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Smoky Slate and So Saffron bees on the front…

…and more of the Golden Honey Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I’ve got this one in mind for a bee-loving friend of mine!  I really love the whole group of bee-goodies!  The Honey Bee stamp and it’s bundled Detailed Bee Die set in the Mini catalog and the Golden Honey Specialty DSP – free with a $50 purchase in the Sale-a-Bration flyer!  And the Happy Birthday To You set (also free with a $50 purchase) has the perfect sentiments – and even a big ole cake!  I hope you like!

So – the Honey Bee bundle is a part of my Special Bundle #6 – The Don’t Worry Bee Happy Bundle – as well as a whole bunch of other goodies – including the Timeless Tropical bundle and DSP.  Be sure to check it out!

AND – when you order this bundle, you’ll get a roll of 5/16″ Braided Burlap Trim FREE and you’ll qualify for 3 $50 Sale-A-Bration rewards OR 1 $100 and 1 $50 reward.  Maybe…some Golden Honey Specialty DSP to round out the bee-theme??  😉

Stampin’ Up! Lovely Lily Pad Peaceful Moments Sneak Peek

Good morning!  Okay.  So – after my video on Saturday night – someone left a comment that made me sort of take a step back.

I’d mentioned that it was the “last FB live of the year”.  Well….it was the last FB Live of the DECADE.  Last WEEKEND of the DECADE.

This.  Is.  The.  Last.  Monday.  Of the 2010’s!  🙂  So…enjoy it!

My card for today is comprised of so many FREE goodies…I can’t believe it!  Y’all know that Sale-A-Bration is coming up – and three of the five “non-staple” Stampin’ Up! products are IN the Sale-A-Bration flyer!  We’ve got the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set (Free at the $50 level), the matching Lily Pad Dies (Free at the $100 level), the coordinating Lily Impressions DSP ($50 level) and the Metallic Baker’s Twine and Sequins Combo Pack ($50 level)!  Yikes!  Now – I pulled a couple of sentiments from the Peaceful Moments stamp set (in the 2020 Jan-Jun Mini Catalog).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the challenge sketch over at Inspire. Create.

I started with some of the gorgeous Lily Impressions DSP for the card front.

Then I started making lily pads and flowers!  The Lovely Lily Pad stamp set is a “reversible” set.  So – ink and stamp the “detailed” side – clean it off and flip it over on the block to stamp the fill in solid image!

So – that’s what I did!  I stamped the large flower in Grapefruit Grove – then flipped the image and stamped the fill in stamped-off-once Grapefruit Grove.

I did the same thing with the smaller flowers – in Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo.

I cut the flowers out with their Lily Pad Dies.  Then I cut some solid leaves from Granny Apple Green and Vellum Card Stock – as well as a few flowers from Vellum.

The last element is a Garden Green Lily Pad – stamped and cut just like the flowers.

I didn’t start this as a collage card – but…it ended up that way!  I layered all the pieces onto the card front – starting with the actual Lily Pad.  I made sure to let some parts “fall” off the edge – so I could trim them later for the sketch!

When I got to the large flower – I first tied a big ole loose bow with two pieces of So Saffron Baker’s Twine from the SAB Metallic Baker’s Twine & Sequins Combo Pack – and adhered it with a dot of Liquid Glue.

Then I popped the large flower on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

At that point, I trimmed the excess off the side with my Paper Trimmer and matted the panel on Grapefruit Grove.

The sentiment, from the Peaceful Moments stamp set (part of the Peaceful Poppies Suite), is stamped in Melon Mambo on Grapefruit Grove card stock.  I fussy cut the sentiment and adhered it with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A few So Saffron sequins from the Metallic Baker’s Twine & Sequins Combo Pack adhered with Liquid Glue finished off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped a second Peaceful Moments sentiment in Melon Mambo on Whisper White.  Over the top, I added the large Lovely Lily Pad flower in Grapefruit Grove.  I added a tiny So Saffron sequin next to the sentiment.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Grapefruit Grove mat and into my Pretty Peacock card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another of the Grapefruit Grove Lovely Lily Pad flowers on the front…

…and more of that gorgeous Lily Impressions DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Wow!  I love this whole group of Lily Pad goodies – from the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set to the gorgeous Lily Impressions DSP.  And – it’s all FREE!  Get the Peaceful Moments stamp set – with its wonderful sentiments – as the perfect complement!  I hope you like!

So…check out my Special Bundle #3 – The Flower-dy Bundle.  You’ll get the Painted Poppies Bundle and the Peaceful Moments bundle – plus even more great goodies!  AND – you’ll be able to select three $50 level SAB gifts OR one $50 and one $100 level gift.  You could pick the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set and Lily Pad Dies!   😉

Stampin’ Up! Grace’s Garden Gateway Sneak Peek

Good morning!  Do you realize this is the last Sunday in 2019?  Wowza – the year seems to have flown by!  As we head into 2020….are you a Resolutions person?  Or…do you just see what comes and roll with it?  I’m not really one to make resolutions – I USED to say I was going to go on a diet.  Or exercise more.  Or… Or… Or…  But, it always left me failing to meet my own standard, so…I gave that up!  I suppose you could say I resolved to NOT make resolutions – and finally found one I could keep! LOL

If you were able to join me last night for my LAST FACEBOOK LIVE OF 2019….I appreciate you spending part of the weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube – here ’tis!

The card I made is sort of a CASE from the new 2020 Jan-Jun Mini Catalog – they have a really pretty example using the Grace’s Garden stamp set and bundled Garden Gateway Dies, and I thought you might like to see how to make it for yourself.  Take a look-see:

I decided I’d play along with the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge for the end of the year.

I started with a piece of Sahara Sand card stock.  In the middle-ish, I used the outline die from the Garden Gateway Dies to cut out the gate-shaped opening.  Then I laid the panel on top of my Highland Heather mat to line up the opening – and cut the same shape – in the same place.

Finally, I lined the whole thing up on the front of my Whisper White card base, and cut the shape a third time.  Thus…a window was created! 😉

I embossed the Sahara Sand panel in my Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, then dragged my Craft Whisper White ink pad across it to vintage-ize it a bit.  Then I adhered it to the Highland Heather mat with Liquid Glue.

I cut the Garden Gate from a piece of Thick Whisper White card stock and adhered it to the card front using Liquid Glue – only on the archway – not across the bottom of the gate.  I left the gates connected for now.

On another piece of Whisper White, I stamped several of the flower images from Grace’s Garden in Basic Gray ink.  Then I used an older Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to color the flowers.  I gently squeezed the ink pads to put ink on the inside of the lid – then picked up the color with the brush.  I used Granny Apple Green for all the leaves.  The flowers are in Highland Heather, Melon Mambo and Rococo Rose.

Then I stamped a little bird in Blueberry Bushel and used the Glitter Brush to “pull” ink and color him.

I cut out all the flowers and the bird with the dies in Garden Gateway.  And I also cut two leaves in Granny Apple Green.

I layered the leaves and flowers onto the sides of the gate with Liquid Glue.  The “top” flowers are popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  You can see I snuggled the bird in, too, with a little Liquid Glue.

At this point, I carefully snipped the gates “open” with my Paper Snips.  I stamped the “Hello” sentiment from Grace’s Garden in Highland Heather on Whisper White, cut it out with a Stitched So Sweetly die (coming on 3 Jan!) and adhered it to just one side of the gate.  And the scene was complete!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment – in Basic Gray.  Then I sponged around with Highland Heather.  I added more flowers in Basic Gray, a couple of picket fence images in Sahara Sand and a little birdie in Blueberry Bushel.  I even adhered another die cut flower over the fence image.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Highland Heather mat and into the Thick Whisper White card base and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Sahara Sand fence and a die cut flower on the front…

…and the smallest Grace’s Garden flower image on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the Grace’s Garden Bundle so much, y’all – it let’s me create the kind of English cottage garden I can only DREAM of doing “for real”!  So much easier with paper and ink!!  I hope you like – and have it on your “must-have” list!

Not for nuthin’ – you COULD get this set  – and whole lot of other awesome-ness – at a great savings, as part of my Special Bundle #8 – The Say It In Ink Bundle!!  Check it out!

Stampin’ Up! Young at Heart Thanks for the Laughs Sneak Peek

Happy Friday-after-Christmas!  Did you go out yesterday to hit the After-Christmas Sales?  Wayne and a friend left early and spent the day on the lake fishing – yes, it’s that kind of weather here right now!  Me and Finn?  We stayed home and watched the news with all the reports of the After-Christmas traffic and thanked our lucky stars that we weren’t out in it!

While I was doing all that, I made a card (I know – crazy!).  It uses a new set called Thanks For The Laughs (coming in the 2020 Jan-Jun Mini Catalog and, incidentally, part of my Special Bundle #8: The Say It In Ink Bundle) and a new-to-me set from the Annual Catalog called Young At Heart.  Take a look-see:

How great is that sentiment??

The interesting layout is from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock and two strips of Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ DSP (also from the 2020 Jan-Jun Mini Catalog and available on 3 Jan).  I laid the strips out to get the layout in place – then used my Stamparatus to stamp the cute image from Young At Heart in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I colored the ladies with my Purple Posy and Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends Combos, plus my Light So Saffron and Light Crumb Cake Blends.  The blondes headband is Pretty Peacock and I used a Stampin’ Write Marker for that.

Then I adhered the DSP strips in place – and used my shiny new Paper Trimmer to cut the excess from the sides and top.  I matted the panel on Purple Posy using Liquid Glue.

I pulled out some Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon – from the new catalog – and colored it with my Dark Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blend.  I wrapped a length of it around the panel – securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

For the sentiment, I inked the top half of the Thanks for the Laughs sentiment in Pretty Peacock and stamped it on a piece of Pool Party card stock.  Then I cleaned the stamp and inked the bottom half of the sentiment and stamped it.  I cut both sentiments with a Stitched So Sweetly Die (available on 3 Jan) and popped them onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I wrapped some Silver Metallic Thread around the ribbon next to the sentiment and tied a snug knot.  Then I adhered a bow from the colored ribbon with a Glue Dot over the thread.  That helps to make it look more like I tied the bow the “right” way!

I added a few Gorgeous Grape gems from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones and the card front was done.

On the inside, I matted a piece of the Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ DSP on Purple Posy and then adhered it to a Whisper Whtie panel and trimmed the excess.  On a diagonal, I added a second sentiment from the Thanks For the Laughs set in Pretty Peacock, then added a Noble Peacock Rhinestone.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Purple Posy mat and into my Pretty Peacock card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the two ladies on the front…

…and more of the Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  It’s like they were made for each other, isn’t it?  Thanks For the Laughs – with its super-fun sentiments – and the crazy women from Young At Heart go together like Caramel and Sea Salt!  I hope you like!
