Hey guys – happy Monday! Hope you had a safe weekend. We had thunderstorms and tornado threats last night. Sunday=severe weather, I guess. I’ll be glad to get out of this particular rut!
I know a lot of you joined us on our Ornate Garden FB Event this past Saturday – and you know the card I shared was pretty “normal” for me – lots of layers, a little bling. 😉 Well – today’s card is so not like that! I went clean and simple with the sweet Music From the Heart stamp set – and a few other goodies here and there. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
And the cool color palette is from the Color Throwdown this week!
I started with a piece of the Peaceful Poppies DSP that I embossed in the new Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder and matted on Basic Black for the card front.
I wrapped a length of 1/2″ Black Satin Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.
I cut out a Whisper White Rectangle Stitched die cut and used the Stamparatus to stamp the music staff from Music From the Heart in Smoky Slate.
I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and the sweet heart-note in Poppy Parade.
I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added three black Peaceful Poppies Sequins across the top with little dabs of Liquid Glue. When the glue dried, I filled in the little holes using the brush end of my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
I used a Glue Dot to add a small bow tied with the 1/2″ Black Satin Ribbon and the card front was done.
On the inside, I added a second Music From the Heart sentiment in Tuxedo Black, and a Poppy Parade note, to a Whisper White panel.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Smoky Slate card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Poppy Parade notes on the front…
…and a little more Peaceful Poppies DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! This is such a sweet stamp set – Music From the Heart gives you a multitude of musical images and sentiments for all your card making needs!
I hope you like!

Do you guys remember…bubble gum cigars and cigarettes?
I do.
Yes. I am that old.
That was back when smoking was cool. Or – at least we kids thought so!
I’ve given Finn “the talk” about cigarettes and smoking (and vaping – gotta keep up with the times!) – so he knows it’s not cool. And bad for him.
But…you know. He’s still a kid.
He runs with scissors, too…
