Good morning, y’all – and welcome to the work week! Or…the retired week. Whatever kinda week you have ahead of you – I hope it’s awesome!
My card today is a fun one – it’s got gorgeous Rainbow Glimmer Paper making a showing as….Brilliant Wings butterflies! And take a look-see at what happens when you add them to a little black-and-white True Love DSP and give them a Well Written die cut sentiment.
I got inspiration from a few challenges for this one.
First of all – the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge (I LOVE tic-tac-toe challenges!). I hit the diagonal (DieCuts – Ribbon/Twine – Bright Colors) and the middle column (Word Die – Ribbon/Twine – Flowers).
The butterflies are – obviously!! – from The Card Concept! I’d probably classify this as Freestyle Collage!
Finally – the Wednesday Watercooler Challenge!
I started by matting a piece of True Love DSP on Mango Melody for the card front Then I adhered a Basic Black Stitched So Sweetly rectangle with Liquid Glue.
I used the large solid Brilliant Wings butterfly die to cut 6 pretty butterflies from a piece of Rainbow Glimmer Paper. Then I used all the detailed dies in the set to cut Basic Black butterflies.
I adhered the detailed butterflies to their Rainbow Glimmer counterparts with Liquid Glue.
Using the Well Written dies, I cut “thanks” from Mango Melody and adhered it to the bottom of the black rectangle.
The top butterfly – the largest – is adhered with Liquid Glue.
Next, I looped some white twine from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack four times around my hand and twisted it into a figure 8 bow – which I adhered with a Glue Dot.
I adhered the next two butterflies with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I used my Stamparatus to add three butterflies from Butterfly Brilliance in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I colored them with my Dark Mango Melody, Light Magenta Madness and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Magenta Madness card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got a few more Butterfly Brilliance butterflies on the front…
…and a little more of the True Love DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Look at how gorgeous those Brilliant Wings butterflies are in Rainbow Glimmer Paper! They just…glow!! And are perfect with the black over top, yes? I’m also a big fan of the Well Written die cut sentiments, aren’t you? And the black-and-white palette from True Love DSP is perfect as a foil for the beautiful rainbow butterflies!
I hope you like!

A bunch of you have asked about the pizzas that we made these past couple of weeks, sooo….here’s some deets!
Our Inkin’ Krew recently had a great Zoom cooking class with Luca and Mara Orlandi (we made Gnocchi and Nutella Roll) – and it was…amazing!
Wayne and I had such a good time that I joined Luca’s FB Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/266273041685957
As I scrolled around, I discovered that they offer Zoom cooking classes every Saturday evening. And…I figured…we needed to learn to make real pizza. So I got us signed up that’s exactly what we did!
The trick is the technique for cooking – you start the dough cooking in a very hot pan – then add the toppings – then, once the bottom is golden and the sides puffy – you slide it into a very very hot oven (like…500F).
Mind…blown! I’ll never par-bake a pizza again!
This past weekend, we repeated the pizza using my sourdough crust – from King Arthur Baking (https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/sourdough-pizza-crust-recipe) – using the hot pan cooking technique!
So….the top pizza:
Sauteed mushrooms (cook them ahead of time) – shredded mozzarella – prosciutto – basil leaves.
Bottom pizza:
Pesto – grape tomatoes (cut in half) – diced green chiles (canned) – shredded mozzarella – grated parmesan – pepperoni.
There you have it! I HIGHLY recommend Luca and Mara’s zoom classes – the food you’ll cook is amazing and the price is very reasonable ($10 a class)!! Check them out (https://www.facebook.com/groups/266273041685957) and get cookin’! 😉
Finn’ll be back tomorrow!

Such a pretty card! Love those glittery butterflies! And that pizza does look amazing! You are officially in charge of the cooking when we’re in Kauai! 😉
Done!! And – I can hardly wait!! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂
That glimmer paper makes a beautiful butterfly—and I bet it’s even prettier in person.
Thanks for the info on the pizzas! I can smell them from here and my mouth is watering!
Thanks, Susan – they were REALLY good! And I love how the butterflies look in the Glimmer Paper, for sure! 🙂
The pizzas look great. I love love King Arthur. I use their pizza flour and flavorings. So tasty. Just ordered their 00 pizza flour … it’s new.
I love your card, so rich and vibrant. Cant wait to try it.❤
Ahhh – Luca’s recipe for the crust called for the 00 flour, but I couldn’t find it at the store (so I used all All Purpose – and it was fine!). But…I’ll be remembering that KAF has it! And I’ve been thinking about the Pizza Dough Flavor, too! Thanks so much, Diane! 🙂
Such a beautiful card, Mary and that glimmer paper makes the butterflies really special. Thanks so much for joining us at The Card Concept! Pizza looks yummy, too!
Thanks, Anita – I love that Rainbow Glimmer Paper!! Appreciate you stopping by. And yes – the pizza WAS yummy! 🙂
