Hey, y’all – it’s Monday again. I do not know where the weekend goes, do you?
Well. I know where some of mine went. Where “some” = 98%! Entertaining the goofy dog! He’s begun, in the way of children everywhere, to test the limits. He’s got a game that I believe he calls “what can I try today?” On Sunday, he added this to his repertoire….

We were sitting in the kitchen on Sunday morning and Wayne got out of the chair. Mr. Finn immediately got into it. And proceeded to look too cute to scold. God’s way of letting puppies get their way, I suppose!
Also this weekend, in addition to the playdate, I did a little turtling of my own…

Yes – best picture of me ever! I wasn’t dressed or prepared for a photo shoot! We sat this way for almost 30 minutes. The trick is the belly pat-rub. Cradle the puppy and pat-rub his belly. He’ll fall into a deep trance – during which you can kiss his nose or tickle his toes as many times as you want!
You’re welcome.
So, in the 2% of the time this weekend that I wasn’t pandering to the puppy, I made a few cards. This one is a simple and quick little any-day occasion card, using the Hello You, Flourish and Paisleys Thinlit sets. And some Petals & Paisleys DSP. Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch in the Fusion Soft and Subtle challenge:

And my palette came from the Color Throwdown #415:

I used Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso and Mint Macaron as my colors.
The first step in the card was to cut the Petals & Paisleys DSP panel and then cut the edge die from the Flourish Thinlits near the bottom. I used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere the cut panel to a Cajun Craze mat – returning the die cut to the negative space. Liquid Glue gives you a little “wiggle” room to be sure all the spacing is correct!
Next I built the sentiment. Using the die from the Hello You Thinlits, I cut three from Cajun Craze and one from Copper Foil. I stacked them up, adhered them all together with Liquid Glue and then to the card front.

My little embellishment in the corner began with a little bit of Mint Macaron 3/8″ Sheer Linen Ribbon that I doubled over and adhered with a Glue Dot. Next came a Copper Foil die cut from the Paisley Thinlits, adhered with Liquid Glue. I added a Classy Designer Button with another Glue Dot and finally a bow tied with Linen Thread and a couple of lengths of Copper Metallic Thread.

And that was it for the card front!
On the inside, I sort of repeated my treatment from the card front. This time I cut the Flourish edge die from my Very Vanilla panel. I also cut another one from the same design of the Petals & Paisleys DSP I’d used on the front. Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the Very Vanilla panel to a Cajun Craze mat – adding the DSP die cut in the negative space.

I SNAILd the panel into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
On the front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I stamped some little images from the Paisleys and Posies stamp set, in Mint Macaron…

…and then added more of the Petals & Paisleys DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! I love the Copper with this particular design in the Petals & Paisleys DSP – and this paper reinforces the idea that Mint Macaron can look great with Cajun Craze. Hope you like! 🙂
