Stampin’ Up! Rooted in Nature on Wood for Stamp Ink Paper #153

Good morning, all!  It’s Tuesday so that means it’s time for a new Stamp Ink Paper Challenge for you to play along with!  And it’s a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge – one of my favorite kinds!

For mine, I pulled out the Rooted in Nature Bundle, along with some pretty Nature’s Poem and Wood Textures DSP.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Stitched All Around on Wood

Hey guys!  Happy Saturday!  Hope you’ve got something fun planned!  We watched the Black Panther movie on DVD last night, so we’re all caught up – which means…I’m going to go see the Marvels movie today.  Before it’s totally out of the theaters! 🙂  And I think the Man will go to Doggie Camp for the first time since “the incident”!

So – let’s do this, shall we?  I used the pretty Stitched All Around Bundle (which coordinates with the Stitched Labels Framelits) for my card.  And then I added some Wood Textures and Share What You Love DSPs.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Sure Do Love Heart Happiness for the Stamp Ink Paper #137

Happy Tuesday, folks – and welcome to another edition of the Stamp Ink Paper challenge!

We had a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week – one of my favorites!  In honor of Valentine’s Day (it’s tomorrow, in case you’ve lost track!) I used the Heart Happiness stamp set and the Sure Do Love You bundle.  On top of some of my fave DSP – the Wood Textures DSP.  Take a look-see:

In case you want to play along – and why wouldn’t you?!? – here’s the Stamp Ink Paper #137 Tic-Tac-Toe board.  I went right down the middle column – what will you create!? 🙂 Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Springtime Foils Perennial Birthday

Happy Saturday!  Whoo-hooo!!!  I don’t even care that it’s going to rain all the weekend thru.  It’s.  The.  Week.  END!!

I’ve shown you a little peek of the new Sale-A-Bration goodies coming with the second release on 16 Feb.  One of those, the Springtime Foils DSP – is showcased on my card for today.  I combined it with some images from the Perennial Birthday and You’re Inspiring stamp sets.  Take a look-see:

Yes.  There’s fussy cutting.  It’s me, people.  I like to cut!  But never fear – it’s easy fussy cutting! Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Petal Palette & More on Barn Wooden Textures

It’s Sunday, y’all.  And…it’s Super Bowl Sunday!

I don’t really care much about the game – I’m pretty sure Tom Brady is playing and then some other team?  But – I do enjoy the commercials.  Not half-time so much, unless it’s Carrie Underwood or Brad Paisley.

Now, I know there are folks who DO like to watch the game and since it’s this evening, I’m going to cater to them (and to me – cuz…commercials!) and we’re going to skip tonight’s video.  Sorry – but…I really just think this is what we need to do!  Which means that this isn’t a sneak peek – it’s the full mugilicuddy!

I made a fun little card with the beautiful images in the Petal Palette stamp set, cut with dies in the bundled Petals & More Thinlits.  The background is made from strips of Wood Textures DSP.  Take a look-see:

Now, don’t think I came up with this idea on my own (I hardly ever do!!) – nope, I got the inspiration from this week’s photo at The Card Concept. Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Painted Paisleys & Posies for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a sketch challenge this week and it’s going to be fun to see what everyone comes up with – will it be Thanksgiving?  Christmas?   Be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Since today is Thanksgiving, I went old-school.  And I made a card for y’all – as a digital way to say “thank you!”.  I am so Thankful-Grateful-Blessed to have all y’all find my blog and follow me and become my customers and friends!  I’d be hard pressed to send each and every one of you a card (although I would if I could), so…squint yer eyes and know that this one’s for you!

I started by Fast Fusing a piece of the wonderful Wood Textures DSP to a Crushed Curry mat for the card front.  On a smaller piece of Very Vanilla, I began to build the art!

I made the Painted Harvest sunflowers with three colors.  The first layer is Peekaboo Peach – and I stamped that three times on each flower (be sure to rotate the image a bit between each stamp).  Then I used the detailed second-step image twice in Crushed Curry.  I finished it up by stamping the second image again – just one time on each flower – in Pumpkin Pie.

The centers are stamped in Crumb Cake – with Crumb Cake little “seeds”.  While I had it out, I added some more of the little three-dots image in Crumb Cake around the flowers.

I let that ink dry good and rubbed it with my Embossing Buddy.  Then I inked up the sentiment from Paisleys & Posies in Versamark and stamped it on the card front.  I sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up.  And then I Fast Fuse’d the panel onto the card front.

To make my pumpkin patch, I cut a large Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits die cut from Peekaboo Peach.  Using a Sponge Dauber, I sponged an area of Peekaboo Peach card stock with Pumpkin Pie ink – then I adhered the die cut pumpkin over that with Liquid Glue and fussy cut it.  I cut some pumpkin tendrils from Copper Foil with the dies in the Patterned Pumpkin Thinlits.  Finally, I stamped three detailed leaves images from the Painted Harvest in Old Olive ink on Old Olive card stock and cut them out with the bundled Leaf Punch.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the leaves and tendrils to the card front and popped the pumpkin on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I wrapped some Crushed Curry Solid Baker’s Twine twice around the card front, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  Then I made a Billie Moan bow with Linen Thread and secured it with more Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine.  I stuck it all to the card front with a dab of Liquid Glue and the card front was done.

On the inside, I added another Painted Harvest sunflower in Peekaboo Peach, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie to a Very Vanilla panel.  I made the middle with Crumb Cake and added more little “seed” dots around the flower, too.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Crushed Curry mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Painted Harvest sunflower on the front…

…and a little more of the Wood Textures DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Sunflowers from Painted Harvest and pumpkins from Patterned Pumpkins!  What a combination – perfect for Thanksgiving Day!  Hope you like – and know how grateful I am for each and every one of you! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! This Little Piggy that Did for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a full complement of bloggers for you today, so be sure to check them all out and see how everyone handled our sketch challenge this week!

Here’s what we played with:

And I decided to use the oh-so-uber-cute This Little Piggy stamp set – and a couple of sentiments in it that really sort of seemed right this week!  Take a look-see:

This one was quick – easy – and fun!  The Trifecta!

I started with a piece of my favorite Wood Textures DSP and matted it on Powder Pink card stock.

The art work is a piece of Whisper White, cut with a circle Stitched Shapes Framelits die (the largest one) and matted on a Powder Pink Scallop circle, cut with the largest scallop die in Circles Layering Framelits.

I stamped the flying piggy in Early Espresso ink on the Whisper White circle.  Using an older Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, and picking up ink from the lid of my Powder Pink stamp pad, I colored her.  I used another Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to color her wings and little tiny hooves.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the art to my card front.

My sentiment banner is a strip of Whisper White, with a banner end cut with my Paper Snips.  I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp the This Little Piggy sentiment in Early Espresso onto the strip (I covered the piggy with a sticky note).  It’s matted on another bannerized strip (in Powder Pink) and popped over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I thought she needed a few friends, so I cut three of the adorable little butterfly shapes from the Build a Bike Framelits in Powder Pink card stock – brushed them all with my Clear Wink and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  The final touch is a double-bow from Flirty Flamingo Baker’s Twine, adhered with a dab of Liquid Glue.

On the inside, I added another This Little Piggy sentiment in Early Espresso to a Whisper White panel.  Then I stamped a few cloud images from the set in stamped-off-once Powder Pink.  Finally – one more Build a Bike butterfly in Powder Pink card stock.

I SNAILd the panel to a Powder Pink mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got three more flying piggies across the front in Early Espresso – colored with Powder Pink using the Clear Wink brush…

…and a little more of the Wood Textures DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This Little Piggy believed she could and so she did.  I love the little smile on her face – she looks a little smug and a lot happy.  And – she pretty much had to have a butterfly on her nose, now didn’t she – so it’s handy there was one just the right size in the Build a Bike Framelits!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Delightful Daisy Delight in the Round!

Happy weekend, y’all!  Hope yours is going well so far. 🙂  I thought I had to work today, but…my guys worked extra long last night and at 6:30 we realized we’d get the whole, entire, beautiful two weekend days off!!  Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-HOO!!! 🙂  I’m ready – and I know they sure are, too!

My card today is so quick and easy to put together – thanks to some beautiful Wood Textures DSP and Delightful Daisy DSP, a couple of stamped images from the matching Daisy Delight stamp set and some Circle Dies.  Take a look-see:

This unusual layout was inspired by the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week.

And many of the elements were inspired by the inspiration photo from the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.

I had an Old Olive card base from a previous effort (that I ended up not using!) and it already had the front of the card base embossed in the new Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF.  It seemed sort of perfect for this one, so I just pulled it back out to use!  Sometimes it’s good to be a pack-rat!! 🙂

I started with a piece of Wood Textures DSP and ran it thru the Big Shot in the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF, then I matted it on some Daffodil Delight card stock.

After that, it was just a matter of cutting the Daffodil Delight scalloped circle mats and picking and cutting my favorite papers from the Delightful Daisy DSP.  I used the Circles Layering Framelits – making this a quick task.

Well…all but picking my favorite papers from the Delightful Daisy DSP pack.  That took a minute – too many to choose from! 🙂

I adhered everything together and then to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For my sentiment, I stamped the pretty one from Daisy Delight in Old Olive onto a Whisper White strip, snipped a banner end and then edged the whole thing with my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker.

I cut a piece of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon, cut the ends to a banner and attached it to my sentiment with a handheld stapler.  It’s popped on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish off, I tied a small bow with Linen Thread and attached it with a little dab of Liquid Glue, then added some Old Olive Glitter Enamel Dots, and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used the pretty little flower stamp from the Daisy Delight stamp set and stamped it a couple of times on a piece of Whisper White.  They each got a quick stem with my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I cut it with another Circle Layering Framelits die and matted it on a scalloped Daffodil Delight mat.

I matted the panel on a Daffodil Delight mat and into my Old Olive card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Daisy Delight flowers on the front…

…and then I added a little more of the Delightful Daisy DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Even without the Daisy Punch, this Delightful Daisy Suite is wonderful and gorgeous!  And it combines so nicely with the Wood Textures DSP to make a quick and easy card.  Hope you like! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! At Home With You Sneak Peek!

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!

We had a few big things happen today.  Ready?  Okay.  Here we go.

Wayne saw the first king/rat snake of the year!  Whoo-hoo!  We were afraid maybe they’d been culled out by the hawks.  Mice – your days are numbered! 🙂

Wayne also got a clean bill of health from the GI doc – all the labs and tests they did during his surgery came back negative!  Whoo-hooo-hoooo!!!

And finally – and this is YUGE! – we found a Vietnamese restaurant close enough for us to actually go to – and we went there!  And it was good – and a nice/safe/clean place to eat!

Oh my goodness, y’all!  I’m tickled to death over this!

I was so happy (and full!) that I came home and played with a new stamp set and framelits.  The At Home With You bundle!  I paired it up with some Color Theory and Wood Textures DSP.  Take a look-see:

There’s a little surprise on the front…

Right?  The sentiments in the At Home With You are sized and meant to go “inside” the door!  And there are two dies that work together in the At Home Framelits to create the opening door!

I started with a piece of Crushed Curry paper from the Color Theory DSP stack and SNAILd it to a Tranquil Tide mat.  I think it looks like stucco!

Next, I stamped the door image in Early Espresso on a piece of the Wood Textures DSP and cut it with the dies in the At Home Framelits.  The only trick here is to be sure the non-cutting (in other words – the creasing side!!) of the door die is on the correct side of the image!

I also cut the door outline die from a piece of Whisper White card stock.  In order to get the inside sentiment aligned correctly, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get it stamped in the right spot.  I inked the sentiment from the At Home With You stamp set in Tranquil Tide, and added it to the Whisper White “door”.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the door to the white piece and then onto the card front.

I inked two lanterns from the set in Versamark and stamped them on Whisper White, sprinkled them with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.  I cut them out with their matching dies in the At Home Framleits, then I popped them on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I colored the tops of the lanterns with the Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker, and the candle flame with Daffodil Delight.

I made the wreath and two flower pots – stamping the wreath in Old Olive and the pots in Early Espresso.  I colored the flowers in Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Pink Pirouette and Daffodil Delight and the leaves in Old Olive.

I popped the flower pots on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then filled the pots in with Crumb Cake.

For the wreath – I cut two more wreath shapes in Whisper White and adhered them all together with Liquid Glue then added it to the door with Liquid Glue.

For the door sign, I stamped the sign outline in Soft Suede and “Hello” – both in the At Home With You stamp set – in Soft Suede.  The sentiment is stamped in Tranquil Tide.  I cut it with its die and adhered it with Liquid Glue.  I finished it off with a tiny Linen Thread bow.

Finally, the welcome mat is inked with my Soft Suede and Tranquil Tide Stampin’ Write Markers.  I stamped it on Whisper White, cut it with its die and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

On the inside, I stamped a second At Home With You sentiment in Tranquil Tide on a panel of Whisper White.  Then I stamped the wreath in Old Olive – I covered part of the image with a small piece of tape.  Then I colored the flowers and leaves just like I’d done on the front of the card.

I added a little Linen Thread bow, SNAILd the panel to a Tranquil Tide mat and into my Daffodil Delight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another At Home With You wreath…

…and I put some more of the Color Theory DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  No – really.  Et.  Voila!  I know it looks hard cuz it took a lot of words to say what I did.  But…it really wasn’t.  Just took a lot of words!  This At Home With You bundle is a ton of fun – with lots of sentiments and images for you to ensure that your card’s curb appeal is ready for any occasion.  Hope you like and are adding this one to your wish list!

Finn-Fan Fix…

Perhaps you’ve heard the old saying for new mom’s – sleep when the baby sleeps?

Well – apparently that’s true for dog-moms, too.  (Definitely not the most flattering pic of mom.  Thanks, Wayne!)

The question is, though – how does the dog-mom saying go?  Is the Mom sleeping when the puppy is sleeping?

Or…is the Puppy sleeping when the mom sleeps.

He has two favorite places to be.  Well – three if you count my lap!

One is under my craft table! 🙂

The other is under my recliner.  So far under that it’s hard to see him.

I think he thinks it’s a cave.

I just have to say it again.

He’s ridiculously cute and sweet.

M

P.S.  No.  I haven’t squished him yet.  I’ve gotten so used to him being there that I always locate him before I put the foot rest down!

Stampin’ Up! Wood Textures and Trees for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop!

Mornin’, y’all!  Welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop!  This month, our theme is “Father’s Day or Masculine”.  I’m looking forward to seeing what all our talented ladies come up with – and hope you’ll spend some time exploring the hop when you’re done here!

I opted for a thank you card for our dog-trainer friend who helped me out with Finn last week!  He came over and essentially did almost 2 hours of private lesson/training with us, and then wouldn’t let us pay him a dime.  So…I figured a good handmade card – with an outdoorsy theme – would be just the thing.  I used some Lovely as a Tree images, with a little Woodland TIEF and Thankful Thoughts sentiments, on top of some new Wood Textures DSP.  Take a look-see:

I started with a piece of the new (coming on 1 June) Wood Textures DSP and matted it on Crushed Curry for the card front.  The middle panel is Very Vanilla and I stamped the pine tree from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set in Always Artichoke.  I stamped it once and then again without re-inking, then inked up again for the third image.  Then I sponged the edges of the panel with some more Always Artichoke.

I SNAILd it to a Crushed Curry mat and then onto the card front.

For the small square, I ran a little square of Copper Foil thru the Big Shot in the Woodland TIEF, matted it on Crushed Curry and then SNAILd it to the card front.

For a little bit of oomph, I wrapped a piece of the new 1/4″ Copper Trim (1 June) around the card front, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

I stamped a sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts set in Always Artichoke on a strip of Very Vanilla card stock.  I made banner ends with my Paper Snips, edged it with my Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker and popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish off the card front, I tied a bow with two lengths of 1/4″ Copper Trim and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

The inside of the card started with a Very Vanilla panel.  Using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I stamped another Lovely as a Tree pine in Always Artichoke.  I stamped it off three times before stamping my panel.  Then I added a second Thankful Thoughts sentiment in Always Artichoke, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to position it where I needed it.

I SNAILd the panel onto a Crushed Curry mat and into my Always Artichoke card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a couple more Lovely as a Tree pines – I stamped it twice without re-inking, and then added some “ground” with my Always Artichoke Stampin’ Write Marker…

…and then I added a little more of the Wood Textures DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think this will be perfect for a man who spends most of his life in the great outdoors with his dogs, don’t you?  And – I think it shows yet another way that the Wood Textures DSP is going to be a wild crowd favorite this SU! year!!  Hope you like!
