Stampin’ Up! True Love Always & Forever for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  We’ve got a color challenge today and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I had a good time with this color challenge – picking Rococo Rose to pop against the black and white – and True Love DSP was the obvious choice.  I kept with the Love You Always Suite – using both the Forever & Always Bundle and the Always in My Heart stamp set.  Take a look-see:

And I also borrowed the sketch from the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge for my layout.

I started with my favorite design in the True Love DSP and matted it on Rococo Rose for the card front.

Using the smaller, straight-edge punch in the Heart Punch Pack, I cut a Rococo Rose heart from Love You Always Specialty DSP.

 

I created the sentiment with the Always Dies (part of the Forever & Always Bundle!)- cutting the detailed word from Love You Always Foil in Rococo Rose, and the solid shape in Basic White.  Then I adhered them together with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the sentiment from Forever & Always in Rococo Rose on a Basic White strip.  Then I matted the strip on Rococo Rose and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue. I added the punched heart with Liquid Glue.

I tied a small bow from two lengths of Whisper White twine from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Then I popped my die cut sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a few Matte Black Dots and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped an Always in My Heart sentiment in Rococo Rose on a Basic White panel.  Next to it, I stamped the hearts outline image from Always in My Heart in Tuxedo Black – then added the fill image in Rococo Rose.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Rococo Rose mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Always in My Heart hearts on the front…

…and more of the True Love DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love Black-White-Pink (aka Rococo Rose), don’t you?  It’s just so cool and elegant.  And the Always & Forever stamp set – with the beautiful bundled Always Dies (how much do you love those sentiment dies?!?) plus the Always in My Heart stamp set…

….are perfect vehicles for bringing that pop of color to the gorgeous True Love DSP.

Stampin’ Up! Punch Party in Love for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop!

Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Love!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

There’s a VERY cool stamp set that you can get for FREE right now – while Sale-A-Bration is going on! – when you place an individual order over $300 in retail (or host a workshop that totals over $300) – called the Punch Party stamp set.  I used it – and some of the uber-pretty Love You Always Specialty DSP and Love You Always Foil to make my love-themed card!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is inspired by just the sketch portion of the…Inspired By challenge this week! 🙂

I started with a piece of Whisper (Basic) White and embossed it in the new Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.  Then, using my Blending Brush (these are new and AWESOME!), I lightly colored the panel with Rococo Rose ink.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Blushing Bride piece of Love You Always Foil to make the card front.

The Punch Party stamp set coordinates with the Heart Punch Pack, the Double Oval Punch and the Rectangular Postage Punch.  I used both punches in the Heart Punch Pack for this one.  Using the scalloped punch (which is larger) – I cut one of each of the three foil colors (Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride, and Rococo Rose) from the Love You Always Foil.  I used the smaller – straight-edge punch – to cut a piece of Sahara Sand and Blushing Bride paper from the Love You Always Specialty DSP.

I adhered the Sahara Sand pieces and the Blushing Bride pieces together with Liquid Glue – then adhered them to the card front – stacking them up.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the Punch Party sentiment in Rococo Rose.  I punched it with the smaller, straight-edge Heart Punch and popped that heart onto the Rococo Rose Foil heart with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered the matted sentiment heart to the card front with Liquid Glue.

A few Champagne Rhinestones adhered to the card front finished it off.

On the inside, I stamped the Punch Party heart in Blushing Bride on a piece of Whisper White (or Basic White) and added a second sentiment in Rococo Rose.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a piece of Blushing Bride Love You Always Foil and into my Sahara Sand card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White (or Basic White) Medium Envelope got the Punch Party heart in Blushing Bride and some smaller hearts from the set in Rococo Rose on the front…

…and some of the Rococo Rose Love You Always Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Y’all – I am TOTALLY in love with the Punch Party stamp set – and you should be, too!  As I mentioned, it coordinates with the Heart Punch Pack, the Double Oval Punch and the Rectangular Postage Punch. Trust me when I say…you NEED this stamp set!  Soooooo…..

And as we head into Valentine’s Day and the season of love, there are few better packs of paper to have in your stash than the Love You Always Specialty DSP and coordinating Love You Always Foil!

Stampin’ Up! True Love Forever & Always Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Stampin’ Up! Nothing’s Better Than Cookies

Good Friday!  Not “Good Friday” – that’s a few months from now!

Don’t scoff – the Christmas decor was up at Costco last weekend.  Right next to the Halloween decor.

Which…I thought was interesting on many levels!

But – any which way you look at it – Christmas is almost here – which means Easter is almost here.  See?  Made it back to “Good Friday”! 😉

Almost got lost in my own ramblings.  Sheesh.

Now – on a “normal” Friday – this post would be all about the card that I made for you on my YouTube video yesterday.  But…I didn’t MAKE a card!  So – there IS a video – but not about this card.  It’s all about how to use the Simply Scored Tool to make a box-envelope for a thicker/dimensionalized card.  It’s a pretty short video – and you can see it right here on YouTube if you want! 🙂

My card, on the other hand – is a sweet confection suited for those of us who like cookies.  And coffee.  I used the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set with its bundled Love You More dies and a little Plaid Tidings DSP.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Whale Done Color Blocking with a Video Tutorial!

Happy Friday, y’all!  Been a busy week here, don’t know how it’s been for you.  Our garden picked this week to decide to BURST at the seams!  I had tomatoes and green beans and chile peppers and tomatillos EVERYWHERE.  On every counter surface and in every rinse/drain container I own.  So, yesterday I decided I’d better get them “processed”.   Let me just say – I can wait a long time to peel and roast another tomatillo, y’all!

Except…I won’t be able to wait – cuz those boogers are just tomatillo-ing their little hearts out! I’ll be peeling/roasting/blending again before I know it!

Stampin’ Up! Poppy Moments to Last a Lifetime for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I made a card for you today that would be perfect for a wedding – using the Last a Lifetime stamp set and some wonderful Poppy Moments flowers.  Plus – a little Breathtaking Bouquet (which is on the Retiring List!).  Take a look-see:

And I was inspired by the gorgeous bouquet, white accents and romantic feel in The Card Concept photo inspiration. I’d say my card is somewhere between Clean and Layered and Shabby Chic and Vintage!

I started by using my Stamparatus to stamp the big, beautiful floral image from the Breathtaking Bouquet background set in Pool Party on a piece of Whisper White.  Then I matted it on a piece of Pool Party with Liquid Glue for the card front.

Next, I used a die in the new Ornate Layers Die set to cut a Pool Party frame, embossed it in the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the Last a Lifetime sentiment in Pool Party on a piece of Whisper White and cut it out with the long die in the Ornate Layers set.

I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I pulled out my Poppy Moments die set and used the leaves dies to cut two leaves in Vellum and two in Pool Party.  I also cut a couple of Whisper White berries with my go-to berries die in the Frosted Bouquet set.  Y’all – this die set is SO cool – and it’s GOING AWAY!!  GET IT NOW!! 🙁

I cut two solid flowers in Whisper White, two detailed flowers and several Pool Party centers. Using the splotch image in Painted Poppies, I stamped the flowers in Pool Party, then adhered the detailed flowers to the solid flowers using Liquid Glue (just in the middle).   I added the Pool Party centers with more Liquid Glue.

The final piece to prepare was a large-ish bow tied from Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding.

I dry fit everything and took my pictures…

…then got busy adhering everything with Liquid Glue.  Finally, I popped the flowers back in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I finished off the card front with a few Pool Party gems from the Holiday Rhinestone pack – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Last a Lifetime sentiment in Pool Party to a Whisper White panel.  Around the top and bottom edges, I added the floral image from Last a Lifetime, also in Pool Party.  A single Holiday Rhinestone finished it off.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pool Party mat and into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Last a Lifetime floral image in Pool Party on the front…

…and I added some script-covered Pool Party Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Poppies in white and blue!  Love them – and was SO glad to see that the Poppy Moments dies will be carrying over!  And – so is the Last a Lifetime set!  Whoo-hoo!!

Stampin’ Up! Forever Blossoms with Video Tutorial for the Paper Players

Hey y’all – it’s Sunday, which means I’ve got another fun challenge for you from the Paper Players – it’s a Color Challenge from the talented JayDee this week and it’ll for sure jump-start your creative mojo!  I hope you’ll come and play along.  🙂

The color palette for our challenge didn’t really “scream” one thing or another when I saw it – which meant it was wide open for me!  I finally decided to play with a sponging and silhouette technique – using the pretty floral from the Forever Blossoms stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The layout is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

This is really easy so – I hope you’ll try it!

I started with a Whisper White panel for the card front.   From a second, identically sized, piece of card stock, I cut a Stitched Nested Label – this one is 4 1/4″ from tip-to-tip.

Using repositionable adhesive (like this one), I tacked the die cut panel to the Whisper White panel.

With sponge wedges, I sponged the middle of the opening with So Saffron.  I used Seaside Spray on the top and bottom.  Go easy – start lightly and off the edge with your sponge.  🙂

When I had the color to the depth that I wanted it, I picked up my mask and used a rubber eraser to remove the little adhesive dots.

I placed the panel in my Stamparatus and used it to stamp the big floral image from Forever Blossoms in Granite Gray.  I stamped it a couple of times to get the image as dark as I wanted.

I stamped the Forever Blossoms sentiment in Gray Granite and then added some faux stitches around the shape with my Gray Granite Stampin’ Write Marker.

I matted the panel on So Saffron for the card front.  With my Dark So Saffron Stampin’ Blend, I colored three Pearl Basic Jewels and adhered them here and there.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Forever Blossoms in Gray Granite on Whisper White.  I added part of the large floral image in Gray Granite – and lightly colored just the middles of the flowers with the Dark So Saffron Blend.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a So Saffron mat and into my Seaside Spray card base, popped the card front on with Stampin Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the Forever Blossoms image again in Gray Granite and So Saffron on the front…

…and some Seaside Spray 2019-2021 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Mark the day – no layering, no bows, minimal bling! – is this REALLY a Mary card?!?  Yes – ’tis!  I love how this Forever Blossoms stamp set worked for the silhouetted image – perfect without die cutting or adding any “extras” to it.  It’s just that gorgeous of an image!  I hope you like!

I’ve got another fun challenge for you today from the Paper Players – I hope that you’ll come on over and play!  We’re playing with a color challenge, and I didn’t get even a little jiggy with it! 😉

I decided to make one last Valentine’s Day card for this challenge – giving me a great chance to use several pretty designs in the From My Heart Specialty DSP.  And, with that, I also pulled out the Heartfelt stamp set and the wonderful bundled Heart Punch Pack.  All on a fun-fold card.  Take a look-see:

This is called a Tri-Panel Fun Fold and I got the inspiration for it from my friend and teammate Karen Ksenzakovic who got it from our other teammate Barbara Ross, who saw a video on it from Tina Rappe!  Whew!  That’s a lot of talent right there.  Hope I did this justice – cuz it’s totally cool!

Also?  It’s totally easy, so…winner winner!

Being that it’s February and stuff, I figured a Valentine’s Day card would fit perfectly with this FUSION challenge.

I started with a “card base” of Basic Black and added a Real Red-matted piece of the From My Heart Specialty DSP.  The card base is flat – but is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (which means this one fits right in a regular A2 envelope!).

I cut the tri-panel part of the card from Flirty Flamingo and scored it at 1 1/2″, 3″, 5 1/2″ and 8″.  Then I folded each score line in opposite directions – starting with a “mountain” at the 1 1/2″ fold.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the last panel to a Basic Black mat and then to the card base.

All but one panel has a Basic Black-matted decoration – either a piece of the From The Heart Specialty DSP or a Whisper White sentiment panel.

On the Whisper White panel, I stamped a sentiment from the Heartfelt set in Real Red.  Over that, I added the small lace-y heart in stamped-off-once Flirty Flamingo.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the solid Happy Valentine’s Day heart in Real Red and cut it with the heart punch in the Heart Punch Pack.  I adhered it at a jaunty angle to the back panel.

For the front of the card, I made a stacked heart sentiment.  First, I stamped the dotted heart image from Heartfelt on a piece of Whisper White.  Inside that, in Real Red, is a sentiment from the set.  I also stamped the larger lace-y heart in Real Red and punched it out with the scalloped heart in the punch pack.

To make the stack, I started with a Flirty Flamingo Heart Doily, to which I adhered a loop of Real Red 3/8″ Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon with Glue Dots.  I popped the scalloped heart over that with Stampin’ Dimensionals – then added the sentiment with Liquid Glue.

I adhered the whole thing to the front-most panel of the tri-panel fold with Liquid Glue and that was it for the card.  When you make one of these – be sure that you only use the adhesive on HALF of your decoration!  Otherwise…fun-fold be like…glued shut! 😉

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the large Heartfelt heart in Real Red on the front…

…and one of the From My Heart papers on the envelope flap.

Et voila! Easy Peasy, huh?  I am loving this Tri-Panel Fun Fold and it is so Valentine-perfect with the Heartfelt stamp set and bundled Heart Punch Pack, don’t you think?  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix


On chilly mornings, I sometimes will go sit in the tack room after I put the girls out and before cleaning the stalls.  There’s a comfy recliner in the apartment and it’s warm.

So – I sit there all bundled up and read a book for a bit until I can gird my loins and go back into the cold to finish the chores.

Okay – yes.  Sometimes I might accidentally take a little nap. 😉

Finn comes in with me.  Not cuz he’s cold (he LOVES winter!!) – but because he’s velcro!

But – there’s only so much laying-around-while-mom-reads/naps that a guy can take.

So…he sits up and scratches to see if I’ll get the hint.

Is she watching?

Is she even AWAKE??

Mom?  For crying out loud, Mom – let’s GO!!!

He’s nothing if not persistent! 😉
