Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! Today’s a color challenge and I know you’ll see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop.
I took the color challenge and went all Christmas – using the Making Christmas Bright and Making Every Day Bright stamp sets, plus some Pretty Pines! Take a look-see:
Can you guess our color challenge?
And I got many of the ideas for the card from the photo challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.
I started with a pinecone-strewn piece of All Is Bright DSP that I double-matted on Real Red and Shaded Spruce for the card front.
Next up, I cut a forest-worth of Shaded Spruce boughs from the Pretty Pines Thinlits and I adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.
Using Glue Dots, I wound several big loops of Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon.
The sentiment, from the Making Christmas Bright, is stamped in Real Red on Very Vanilla card stock. I double-matted it as well on Real Red and Shaded Spruce, then I popped it over the pine boughs and ribbon with Stampin’ Dimenionals.
I used the Pretty Pines die set to cut a pinecone from a piece of copper Joyous Noel 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper and adhered it to the corner of the sentiment with Liquid Glue.
With the little star in the Christmas Staircase Thinlits, I cut a Copper Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper star and adhered it to the sentiment panel with Liquid Glue. Finally, I tied a little bow from the Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.
On the inside, I used my Stamparatus to add a sentiment from the Making Christmas Bright set – these are two separate stamps. I did one in Real Red and the second in Shaded Spruce. I added another Christmas Staircase star and some pine cones from the Making Every Day Bright set. Those are two-step images – the first stamp is in stamped-off-once Crumb Cake and the second (detailed) image is in full strength Crumb Cake. I added a little bow from the same set in Real Red.
I used Liquid Glue to double-mat the panel with Real Red and Shaded Spruce, then into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Making Every Day Bright pine cones and a bow on the front…
…and a little more All Things Bright DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! These two stamp sets – Making Christmas Bright and Making Every Day Bright – are really fun – they both work with the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch! Cool, right? And Pretty Pines is perfectly perfect, isn’t it? My perennial favorite! Hope you like!
