Stampin’ Up! Smooth Sailing Home For You!

Well.  Say it with me, now!  Happy Happy (I’m pointing the mic out at YOU!!!)…HHAWWWMP DAY!!!

I’ve got a simple little card (well – actually it’s a bit BIGger than usual!) for you today – using the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack and the Sailing Home bundle.  Take a look-see:

For the color scheme, I played along with the cool Just Us Girls challenge this week.

Heck – I even used Blues as my color! 🙂

I started with one of the cool laser-die-cut panels in the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack and used Liquid Glue around the edge to adhere it to a Whisper White cardstock panel for the card front.

I wrapped a length of new 3/8″ Denim Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

I used another – smaller – panel from the card pack and cut it down a little more.  Then I adhered a same-size piece of Night of Navy to the card front with Liquid Glue.  I popped the Memories & More card over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Sailing Home stamp set, is stamped in Night of Navy on Whisper White – then I cut it with the little banner die in the Smooth Sailing Die set.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the sail boat panel.

I used a couple more dies to cut a Night of Navy wheel and a Balmy Blue rope.  I adhered them next to the card with Liquid Glue.  Then I popped a Sail Away Trinket (the anchor) on with a Glue Dot.

I tied a bow from the Denim Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  And that finished off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped a second Sailing Home sentiment in Night of Navy on a Whisper White panel.  I placed both sailboat stamps on an acrylic block, inked them in Balmy Blue and stamped them once on scrap paper.  Without re-inking, I stamped them over top of the sentiment.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Whisper White mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Large Memories & More Envelope got full-strength Balmy Blue sailboats on the front…

…and I added some Come Sail Away DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This Come Sail Away suite remains one of my favorite new products from the new catalog – how about you??  I just love the coordinating Sailing Home stamp set and bundled Smooth Sailing Dies and the perfect Come Sail Away DSP.  And the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack?  Fug-et-aboutit!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

“A Morning in the Life of a Working Aussie.”

                                                                By Finn.

First – we clean the barn and spread the manure.  I help my Mom get around the place, making sure she doesn’t get losed.  Or accosted by a squirrel.  Or one of those danged BUGS!

Then, we stop to make sure the ponies have clean, fresh water, cuz it’s really hot right now and they like a good drink.

So do I!

Finally, once all our morning chores are done, we come back in the house.

The air conditioning feels really good – and it always makes me kind of sleepy.

So – I sleep!

For this one, I pulled out a sweet little bundle from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog (can you believe it’s less than two weeks away – 9 days, to be exact!) called Parcels & Petals.  And I paired it with the Handwritten background stamp set – which is carrying over (meaning you can get it right now!).  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! A Good Man Sneak Peek for Dad

Well.  We did it again!  Made it thru a whole week and here we are on the last day before a weekend!  AND – it’s my husband Wayne’s birthday today! Whoo-hoo!

I did another Sneak Peek for you today – are you getting tired of those yet? 🙂  This one uses one of the several masculine-dad-husband oriented stamp sets in the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, called A Good Man.  And I paired it with a little of my favorite woodgrain design from the Floral Romance Specialty DSP.   Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

…And I used colors from the Sunday Stamps color challenge, too!

I started with a piece of the woodgrain paper from the Floral Romance Specialty DSP (which is going away with the end of the 2019 Occasions Catalog – so get some (more!) of this gorgeous paper soon!).  Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the sweet image from the new A Good Man stamp set (coming in the new catalog on 4 June – or 2 May if you’re a demonstrator!) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Again with the Stamparatus, I stamped the first sentiment from A Good Man in Mossy Meadow next to the image.

Then I double matted the panel on Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow for the card front.

I used my Journaling Pen to add “stitches” around the edge of the panel.

On a strip of the woodgrain Floral Romance Specialty DSP, I added another A Good Man sentiment in Blackberry Bliss.  Then I snipped banner ends, added faux “stitches” with the Journaling Pen, and popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a double-loop Billie-Bow with new Mossy Meadow Linen Thread (part of the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack – coming on 4 Jun).  I adhered a Bird Ballad Trinket (yep, coming in the new Annual Catalog) with a Glue Dot, then added my bow with a second Glue Dot.  And the card front was done!

On the inside, I used the marker-to-rubber inking technique and my Stamparatus to add another sentiment from A Good Man in Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss (two “good”) on Sahara Sand.  Then I stamped a final sentiment in Mossy Meadow.  I used new Terracotta Tile ink and, stamping off twice, stamped the heart from A Good Man a couple of times.  Finally, I added more Journaling Pen faux “stitches”.

I used Liquid Glue to mat the panel on Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow, then into my Terracotta Tile card base (4 June), popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another of the A Good Man images (in Tuxedo Black) and a couple of hearts (in stamped-off-once Terracotta Tile) on the front…

…and a little more Floral Romance Specialty DSP, with a stamped-off-once Terracotta Tile heart, on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love love love the A Good Man stamp set so much!  The sentiments and images are simply…perfect!  Hope you like!

A Good Man should be available just in time for all your Father’s Day card needs!  You could for SURE get it in time if you sign up to join the team right on 2 May!  You’d be able to pick this one as part of your Starter kit.  Give me a shout if that sounds like a plan to you!

Stampin’ UP! Come Sail Away Sneak Peek!

Good morning!  Have you been scouring the Retiring List?  Making sure you’ve grabbed up your favorites?  Are you one of those folks who does NOT own Lovely as a Tree – and figured it would “be available forever and ever and no need to buy it now!”??  Well…uhm…yea.  That’s not happening!  So…don’t assume your faves will always be here – get them NOW!  Just sayin’!

As the old and wonderful get ready to take their swan song, the NEW and wonderful are waiting in the wings to WOW you!  One of those is the new Come Sail Away Suite that I demo’d this past weekend.  I thought I’d show one of those samples to you today – in a little more detail – so that you can get a really good look at the Sailing Home stamp set and Smooth Sailing Dies – all available to customers on 4 Jun!  Take a look-see:

This one is easier to make than you might think – so…here we go! 🙂

I started with a piece of Night of Navy card stock and the Seaside TIEF (which is on the Retiring List, folks – so….be sure you get it before you can’t!).  With my Craft Whisper White Ink Pad, I swiped across the DEBOSSING side of the TIEF – so the indented side.  I made sure I had good coverage then carefully placed the Night of Navy panel in the folder and ran it thru the Big Shot.  When it came out – boom!!  Instant “water” – which I enhanced even more by brushing Clear Wink of Stella over the raised “waves”.

I matted the panel on Sahara Sand to create the card front.

Next up, using the grasses die in the new Smooth Sailing Dies – available on 4 June! – I cut one from Old Olive and two from Mossy Meadow.  These I adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue – only at the bottom of the die cuts, letting the tops sort of “float”.  See what I did there? 😉

I did the same with a grass die cut from Vellum card stock – did you hear me mention on the demonstration that there is COLORED Vellum in the new 20190-2020 Annual Catalog?  Yep – it’s in the Perennial Essence Vellum pack 12″ x 12″ sheets in Old Olive, Petal Pink and So Safffron!  Whoo-hooo!

The anchor, from the Sailing Home stamp set, is stamped in Sahara on Whisper White and cut with the matching die from the Smooth Sailing Die set.  I used a length of the new Night of Navy & Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine (part of the Suite and coming on 4 June), looped it thru the top of the die cut anchor, tied a knot and then adhered the anchor on with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the Sailing Home sentiment in Mossy Meadow on Whisper White, cut it out with the label die in Smooth Sailing, and popped it over all the sea grass and anchor with Dimensionals.

Some Pearl Basic Jewels scattered here and there finished off the card front!

On the inside, on a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the anchor in Sahara Sand.  Then, I used my Sponge Daubers and the card stock “stencils” created when I cut the grasses for the card front! – to sponge some grass on and around the anchor in Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Sahara Sand mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

I repeated the Sailing Home/Smooth Sailing stamping and stencil sponging on the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope…

…and then I stamped the anchor onto the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How excited are you about this Come Sail Away Suite?!?  This product suite has so many good elements in it – and it’s going to be an awesome tool for all your crafting needs – especially for creating those frequently-problematic masculine cards.  I hope you like – and have now written this suite down as one of your first purchases when the new catty comes out in June!  Unless you want it RIGHT NOW.  I can help you with that!  Give me a shout! 🙂

P.S. Be sure to check out the Seaside TIEF and all the other great products that are retiring soon – get them while they last! 🙂

Carryover Clear-Mount and Wood-Mount Stamps

The lists sort of make it look like every single stamp set from the 2018-19 Annual Catalog is being retired – but that is not the case.  Rather, the stamp sets currently offered in clear-mount or wood-mount (in the 2018–2019 Annual Catalog), that ARE carrying over – are simply being transitioned to Cling Mount.

These transition sets that will be in the 2019–2020 annual catalog –  will continue to be offered in clear-mount and/or wood-mount until existing inventory has been depleted or until June 4, 2019 (whichever comes first).  If the inventory is depleted, you will be notified of the automatic switch to cling when placing an order for that stamp set. This means that you may end up purchasing select cling stamp sets (in carryover artwork) before they can be ordered from the catalog!  All carryover rubber stamp sets will be available in cling medium only (with the exception of background stamps in North America) beginning June 4, 2019.

Click here to see the list of stamp sets that ARE carrying over as Cling sets. 🙂

Any other stamp sets on the 2018-19 Annual Catalog retiring list that are NOT on this list will be retired.  Sorry again for the confusion!  Stampin’ Up! is aware of it and hopefully will be posting an updated list for us.

Stampin’ UP! All Geared Up For Father’s Day

Good morning!  Hope your week is going well so far – we’re trying to come out the other side of the latest cold-snap here in Maryland.  Yesterday was so darned cold in the hangar (where our “office” is) that I could hardly type!  Supposed to get warmer tomorrow – so I’m keeping my frozen fingers crossed!

So – just to be sure we’re all on the same sheet of DSP…the news of my impending resignation from Stampin’ Up! yesterday was TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY an April Fool’s joke!  I will not be quitting any time soon – either Stampin’ Up! OR Blogging!  As long as you’ll read my ramblings – I’ll post them!  And, should the day ever come when I might need to leave – I’ll give you plenty (PLENTY!!) of warning.  I promise!

Okay?

For those of you who figured it out yesterday – and then took me up on my offer of Double Peppermints – good on ya! You know me too well!

Now – on to our card.  I thought I’d pull out a bundle that hasn’t seen the light of day for a minute – the Geared Up Garage and matching Garage Gears Thinlits.  Then I set it all atop some Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ DSP.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Home To Roost By The Bay

Good morning, y’all, from “By the Bay”!

See what I’m doing here?  I figured, since I am – literally! – BY the bay, that it would be a great time to use that stamp set!  And – you remember this is a FREE-with-a-$50-purchase set during Sale-A-Bration!  For this card, I paired it up with some grasses from the Home To Roost set (ALSO a FREE SAB goody!).  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Best Catch For You, Dad!

Whoo-hooo!!  It’s Friday again! Happy happy joy joy!

My card today is one of those elusive “masculine” cards.  We all sort of have trouble with those, don’t we?  We like flowers and embellishments and “pretty” colors, right?  But, we don’t usually think of those things when we think of making a card for the dudes in our lives.  So it’s happy that Stampin’ Up! listened and brought us the Best Catch stamp set – handily bundled with the great Catch of the Day Framelits.  And – I added those elements to…Floral Romance Specialty DSP – and made a perfectly masculine card.

Say what??

Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Geared Up Birthday for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! This is another installment of the Joint Blog Hop between the Happy Inkin’ Thursday and Happy Stampers Blog Hop ladies!  I hope you really enjoy all the inspiration you can get from our talented folks!

I decided to try out some more of the goodies from the Classic Garage suite – the Geared Up Garage stamp set with the bundled Garage Gears Thinlits and the Classic Garage DSP.  Did you know that the dies in the Thinlits will cut out the images on the DSP?  Well – take a look-see!

No cutting was fussy anywhere on this card!! 🙂

As usual, we had a sketch and a color challenge – and could use either or both.  I definitely used the sketch – and…sorta skirted the edges of the color palette!

I also think this dovetails perfectly with this week’s Watercoolor Wednesday Challenge!

I started with a piece of the Classic Garage DSP and embossed it using the large gear die in the Garage Gears Thinlits – using the Impressions Pad and thin silicone mat (the blue one) in the Big Shot Embossing Mats set.  Then I matted it on Pumpkin Pie with Liquid Glue for the card front.

The middle layer is another piece of the Classic Garage DSP, matted on Pumpkin Pie and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the banner, I used a third design from the DSP pack, cut it into a banner with my Paper Snips, and then added some faux stitches with my Journaling Pen.  It, too, is adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut the fun large image from the DSP using the large die from Garage Gears and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

The sentiment, from Geared Up Garage, is stamped in Crushed Curry on Very Vanilla and cut out with the Tailored Tag Punch,  I added the faux stitches with the Journaling Pen and popped it onto the card front wit Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the embellishments – I cut another single gear from the DSP with a handy die.  Then I added two Classic Garage Metal Elements with Glue Dots, stuck the gear on with a little Liquid Glue, and adhered that bow tied with Black/Silver 1/4″ Striped Metallic Ribbon.  Yes, I DO think men CAN handle a bow now and then, especially when it’s all manly black and silver!  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I added a sentiment from the new Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set in Crushed Curry to a Very Vanilla panel. Then I cut and adhered a couple more gear groups!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pumpkin Pie mat and into my Real Red card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

On the front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I added a “cloud” from Geared Up Garage in Crushed Curry.  Over that, I adhered a couple more gears with Liquid Glue…

…and then I added another piece of the Classic Garage DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This was already a fun suite of goodies – but…that the dies in the Garage Gears Thinlits MATCH the images on the Classic Garage DSP – well…THAT’S amazeballs! It really notches up the awesomeness of the Geared Up Garage and all its friends in the suite!  And – I know you’re going to love all the birthday sentiment options from Itty Bitty Birthdays!  Hope you like!

Now that you’ve seen my card, take a minute to hop thru all our projects today  If you click on the Next Blog button, you’ll go right to Kristi Gray’s page. And you can just click on the names below to go direct to all the blogs!
