Good morning! How’s the weekend going so far? We here at the Deatherage home are in the throes of “tax prep”. At the same exact time I decided to move my craft area into our front bedroom.
Can you – in your wildest dreams – imagine the sheer chaos inside our home?
I’m organizing and throwing things away (throwing Wayne into an oh-no-I-was-saving-that-I’m-going-to-use-it apoplectic seizure) and trying my darnedest to make some semblance of order around me. And then – I am vowing to keep it that way. Well – at least within the 12’x12″ space of my craft room….
The rest of the house is on its own! 😉
My card for today (thank goodness I’d gotten it done and photographed BEFORE the final push to move from one spot to the next!!) is a simple and easy one – thanks to the Stamparatus! It uses the fun Bokeh Dots set from the Annual Catalog and the Home To Roost set from the Sale-A-Bration catty. Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by Shawn De Oliveira’s card for the Global Design Project‘s CASE the Designer challenge.

And the color scheme is from the Color Throwdown challenge.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock and, using my Stamparatus, stamped the Bokeh Dots image. First, I inked the full image with Balmy Blue and stamped it. Then, I used a Sponge Dauber to add Highland Heather around the edges of the stamp, and stamped it again. Ahhh – the beauty of the Stampapotamus!! Love it!

I left the panel where it was and used the Stamparatus to add the grasses image from the Home to Roost set (get this one for FREE with a qualifying $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration!) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Next, I used my Journaling Pen to add some doodle-y stitches around the stamped image. Then I matted the panel on Highland Heather.

I wrapped some new Whisper White 5/8″ Flax Ribbon and Balmy Blue Organdy Ribbon (this one is ALSO free with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration!) around the panel – securing them in the back with Glue Dots.
My sentiment, from Home to Roost, is stamped in Highland Heather on Whisper White and cut out with the Classic Label Punch.
then popped on with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a Butterfly Element with Liquid Glue (guess what? THIS is a FREE goody during Sale-A-Bration, too!) and then popped the sentiment over it all with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.

I used a Glue Dot to adhere a small Balmy Blue Organdy Ribbon bow and the card front was done!
On the inside, I added the Home To Roost grass in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink in the corner of a Whisper White panel. Then I did some more doodling stitches with my Journaling Pen.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Highland Heather mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Home to Roost grass image and some doodles on the front…

…and some Balmy Blue paper from the Subtles DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! It’s so easy to forget about all the cool stamp sets in the Annual Catalog when we’re busy playing with our new toys in the Sale-A-Bration and Occasions catalogs. But…don’t! Bokeh Dots is so neat and makes it easy peasy to add a fun design element to your cards. And the free Home To Roost set is…excellent…with it’s images and sentiments. Oh – and its FREE-ness! Hope You Like!
