Stampin’ Up! Smooth Sailing Home For You!

Well.  Say it with me, now!  Happy Happy (I’m pointing the mic out at YOU!!!)…HHAWWWMP DAY!!!

I’ve got a simple little card (well – actually it’s a bit BIGger than usual!) for you today – using the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack and the Sailing Home bundle.  Take a look-see:

For the color scheme, I played along with the cool Just Us Girls challenge this week.

Heck – I even used Blues as my color! 🙂

I started with one of the cool laser-die-cut panels in the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack and used Liquid Glue around the edge to adhere it to a Whisper White cardstock panel for the card front.

I wrapped a length of new 3/8″ Denim Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

I used another – smaller – panel from the card pack and cut it down a little more.  Then I adhered a same-size piece of Night of Navy to the card front with Liquid Glue.  I popped the Memories & More card over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Sailing Home stamp set, is stamped in Night of Navy on Whisper White – then I cut it with the little banner die in the Smooth Sailing Die set.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the sail boat panel.

I used a couple more dies to cut a Night of Navy wheel and a Balmy Blue rope.  I adhered them next to the card with Liquid Glue.  Then I popped a Sail Away Trinket (the anchor) on with a Glue Dot.

I tied a bow from the Denim Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  And that finished off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped a second Sailing Home sentiment in Night of Navy on a Whisper White panel.  I placed both sailboat stamps on an acrylic block, inked them in Balmy Blue and stamped them once on scrap paper.  Without re-inking, I stamped them over top of the sentiment.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Whisper White mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Large Memories & More Envelope got full-strength Balmy Blue sailboats on the front…

…and I added some Come Sail Away DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This Come Sail Away suite remains one of my favorite new products from the new catalog – how about you??  I just love the coordinating Sailing Home stamp set and bundled Smooth Sailing Dies and the perfect Come Sail Away DSP.  And the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack?  Fug-et-aboutit!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

“A Morning in the Life of a Working Aussie.”

                                                                By Finn.

First – we clean the barn and spread the manure.  I help my Mom get around the place, making sure she doesn’t get losed.  Or accosted by a squirrel.  Or one of those danged BUGS!

Then, we stop to make sure the ponies have clean, fresh water, cuz it’s really hot right now and they like a good drink.

So do I!

Finally, once all our morning chores are done, we come back in the house.

The air conditioning feels really good – and it always makes me kind of sleepy.

So – I sleep!

  1. Yes, this and Magnolia are my faves and I’m so glad I have the suites. This is a fantastic design and who doesn’t love blues, both in color and music! I can feel a children’s book coming on with Finn writing it and you illustrating it 🙂

Yep – I’m nothing but the ghost writer and illustrator! I wish I could figure how to do that, Karen, I really do! 🙂 Thanks so much! 🙂

  2. What a fantastic card! Love the denim ribbon, perfect with the nautical theme. Finn does look like he’s very good at all of his jobs…especially the last one. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

It’s kind of his specialty! 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  3. What a great card! You always do a great job, and, apparently so does your ‘boss’. I’m not sure he could get along without you, but he does do his work well, especially the last part of the job!

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – he’s a hard worker and quite conscientious. Doesn’t do anything HALF WAY! 😉 Thanks, Julie! 🙂

  4. macimbalo
