Easter

Stampin’ Up! Word Wishes for a Happy Easter

Monday cometh!  Or….is Here-eth, I suppose is more correct!  Hope you had a great weekend and that your week looks to be a good one!

I made y’all an Easter Card today – do you realize that Easter is only 7 weeks off?  That means it’s time to be thinking about Easter cards.

And pondering the age-old question…why would a bunny (who OBTW….CLUCKS!!) lay an egg??  Even a delicious candy egg with a soft and creamy center.  And – why only at EASTER??

It simply defies logic!

Sorry – back to my card!  I used the pretty Easter Promise stamp set and…the Word Wishes Die set (this is in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog!).  It’s all backed up by the Pleased As Punch DSP (from the 2020 Coordination Product Release).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I started with a piece of new Pleased As Punch DSP from the 2020 Coordination Product Release) that I matted on Daffodil Delight for the card front.

I cut a smaller piece of Whisper White and, using the pretty image from Easter Promise, stamped the flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I colored the image with my Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend Combo Pack – plus the Dark Mango Melody Blend for the stamen.

I matted the image on Daffodil Delight and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front.

I made the egg-shell using the Dino Days Die set – cutting it from the same Pleased As Punch DSP that I used on the card front.  And – ready to have your mind blown? 🙂

The egg die in the Dino Dies matches the egg stamp image in the Full of Happiness stamp set!

I popped the egg shell over the stems of the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the small narrow die in the Stitched Rectangle Dies set, I cut three rectangles from Vellum card stock.  These I adhered to the egg shell with Glue Dots.

Using the Word Wishes Die Set, I cut the words in Daffodil Delight and used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the Vellum rectangles.

Finally, I used the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend to color three Pearl Basic Jewels then I adhered them to the card front.  And…the card front was done!

On the inside, I matted a second piece of Pleased As Punch DSP on Daffodil Delight and used Liquid Glue to adhere it in my Granny Apple Green card base.  I cut another small piece of Whisper White and stamped a second sentiment from Easter Promise in Granny Apple Green.  I stamped and colored the Easter Promise flower in the corner.  Finally, I adhered a Pearl Basic Jewle that I’d colored with my Dark Daffodil Delight Blend.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into the card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Easter Promise flower on the front…

…and more of the Pleased As Punch DSP on the envelope flap.

Et voila!  These beautiful flowers from Easter Promise are so bright and cheerful – and harbingers of hope that Spring – and the promise of Easter! – WILL come!  I love the Word Wishes sentiment die set – it works so well with this (and so many other!) stamp set!

Don’t forget to delve into your Annual Catalog goodies to pair up with the Mini catalog and Sale-a-bration products, okay? And, of course, the pretty Pleased As Punch DSP is so darned versatile!  I hope you like!

Sunday was outside-jobs day.  The one day in a bit where there was no rain AND it got warm enough to be outside without 28 layers of insulated clothes on!

We put hay in the back for the ladies…

Then – cuz this is happening on the kitchen island…

…we realized that it’s time to get busy getting the raised beds ready for planting!

Not only is it time for a dirt refresh – or, more accurately – a Mel’s Mix refresh! – but we’ve decided to add a board and deepen the beds.

I put my best welder on the job!

One down – four to go!

See the difference?

Finn was banned to the carport…

…which he didn’t mind one bit.  He’s not a fan of the loud machines – like the welder.  And he’s not a fan of sparky-fire-y things, either.  Like…the weld!

Which he really REALLY didn’t need to watch!  Trying to treat his weld-burned-eyeballs with potato slices…can’t even imagine!

Also?  They don’t work.

At all.  Guess how I know? 😳😳😳

Stampin’ Up! Botanical Easter Promise

Happy FRIDAY!!  Whoo-hooo!!  Hope you’ve got something fun planned for the weekend?  I’m thinking about heading south a bit to attend a little Thirty-One Gifts soiree.  We’ll see!  And – I’m going to get Wayne to help me blow up the three fitness/yoga balls I bought this week to help me and Finny learn treiball.

What?  You thought I might use fitness/yoga balls for YOGA?  Or…FITNESS??!

ROFL!!!  🙂

So – I got a new stamp set this week – it’s called Easter Promise.  And it’s got some beautiful flower images as well as sentiments.  I paired it up with the pretty paper from the Botanical Prints Product Medley to make today’s card.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

I started with a piece of Pretty Peacock paper from the wonderful Botanical Prints Product Medley and matted it on Daffodil Delight for the card front.

Then I cut a Stitched Rectangle from Daffodil Delight, embossed it in the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder (this may be my favorite embossing folder EVER!!) and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I wrapped some of the Old Olive 1/4″ Twill Ribbon (from the Botanical Prints Medley) around the card front – securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

For the sentiment, I stamped the pretty flower image from Easter Promise in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Whisper White.  Using my Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin’ Blend Combos and the Light Mango Melody Blend (for the stamen), I colored the image.

When it was completely dry, I added the big sentiment over it in Versamark Ink.  I sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.

With another die from the Stitched Rectangle set, I cut the sentiment and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a small bow from the Old Olive Twill Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

Finally, I added one of the sweet little bees from the Product Medley with a Glue Dot – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Easter Promise in Pretty Peacock on a Whisper White panel.  At the bottom, I added the flower image in Tuxedo Black and colored it with my Blends.  Then, cuz I like them a LOT!, I added another Product Medley bee with a Glue Dot!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into my Old Olive card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Easter Promise flowers on the front…

….and I added more of the Botanical Products DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This card highlights the beauty of a Product Medley – a curated grouping of products that work together and let you and your creativity SOAR! – and the Botanical Prints medley is no exception!  The papers are gorgeous and the accompanying stamp set, dies, labels, die cuts, ribbon and embellishments go perfectly hand-in-hand!

And, of course, Easter Promise brings perfect images and sentiments to celebrate the Miracle of the Season!

I hope you like!

Here it is.

The Lip-Look.

It’s one of my favorite looks from The Man.

He gives it to us often.  Usually when we say something that interests him.  Or that he didn’t understand.

First – the closed mouth to achieve “the lips”… the equivalent of…”say what now?”

And then the slight head-tilt.

The equivalent of…hmm.  That IS an interesting question.  I’ll ponder that for a nano-moment!!

Stampin’ UP! Blooms In Windows for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a Color challenge and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop.

Now, our color scheme really called out for the Happiness Blooms suite, and I went smack dab with the subliminal suggestion!  I used the Bloom By Bloom (retiring!) stamp set, and paired it with a simple sentiment from Fabled Friends (carrying over – YEAH!) to create a spring-y Easter card.  Take a look-see:

And, although I feel sure you can figure it out, here’s our color scheme –

I borrowed a layout from this week’s Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I started with some Call Me Clover paper from the Happiness Blooms DSP and double-matted it on Pineapple Punch and Calypso Coral for the card front.

My art is from the Bloom By Bloom set.  I used my Stamparatus so that I could stamp the same image mulitple times.  First I inked the small flower stamp with Pineapple Punch, then I used a Sponge Dauber to add some Calypso Coral around the edges.  I made three of these flowers and cut them out with a Stitched Shapes Framelits square die.

I cut three Pineapple Punch mats with a scalloped Squares Layering Framelits die and adhered them all together to create three matted art pieces.

I used my Stampartatus again to stamp the little sentiment from Fable Friends in Call Me Clover on what would become the middle art square.

I popped each square onto a strip of Calypso Coral card stock with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then adhered the whole thing to the card front with Liquid Glue.

A Happiness Blooms Enamel Dot or three finished off the card front!

On the inside, I added a few more Pineapple Punch and Calypso Coral flowers from the Bloom by Bloom stamp set, plus a couple Call Me Clover leaves, to a Whisper White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pineapple Punch and Calypso Coral mat, then into my Call Me Clover card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Bloom by Bloom flowers and leaves on the front…

…and the envelope flap got more Happiness Blooms DSP!

Et Voila!  I do love this sweet Bloom by Bloom flower set and the colorfully cheerful Happiness Blooms DSP – and you’re going to want to get them added to your stash before they retire!  Fable Friends is an awesome stamp set – perfect for Spring and Easter cards – and I’m tickled it made it into the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog!  I hope you like!

Well – we did it!  Got to Friday again!  Guess where I’ll be NEXT Friday!?  Yep – on my way down to Charlotte for OnStage!  I am so excited – both for the event AND to see all my friends in my team – and the folks I’ve met in the almost 5 years I’ve been in Stampin’ Up!  AND – I’m super excited to be able to share sneak peeks of the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog goodies!! Whoo-hoo!!

(Gotta practice my whoo-hoo-ing, you know!)

So – I recently added a beautiful stamp set from the 2019 Occasions Catalog called His Grace to my stash.  And I decided it was time for an Easter card – so…that’s what I did.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Hold on to The Cross of Hope for Easter!

Happy Easter, y’all!  Rejoice in the miracle of this day!

So – bad news first. 🙁  I’m not going to be doing a FB Live video tonight – sorry!  I’m cooking today and going to our friends’ for dinner, so…it’s just not in the cards.  And – I suspect y’all have plans of your own! So – we’ll make a date and meet again next Sunday!

The good news is that I have a whole card – with instructions! – to share with you right now! No sneak peek! 🙂

I felt that an Easter card was called for, so I went to my Hold On To Hope bundle – which includes the Cross of Hope Framelits.  I added in some leaves from the wonderful Petals & More Framelits and a pretty little sentiment from You’re Inspiring.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Wood Textures Easter Basket (weave!)

Happy happy Hawwwwmp day!  Hope your week is going well!

Before I get to the project for today – I need to clarify something on the twist-and-pop-up card measurements.  I’d inadvertently put a bad measurement for the “mechanism” on the blog posts for the two cards I made.  Here’s the real numbers:  2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.  I’ve fixed the posts already to reflect the correct numbers – but…if you’ve been trying to make one of your own – this measurement will work much more better! 🙂

Okay – now that that’s out of the way, let’s get started! The other day at our team meeting, we made a fun little 3-D project that Amy designed for us.  I decided to do a little bit of modification and add a few little fun goodies.  It uses the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF….the Daisy Punch and…the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.  Take a look-see:

The little basket is fun and easy! Continue reading
