Good mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew team blog hop! Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Feminine projects! We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!
I went with one of my all-time favorites – the Floral Romance Specialty DSP and let that gorgeous paper shine with a simple sentiment from Fable Friends for Easter. Take a look-see:
The layout is from this week’s FUSION challenge – you can see I only used the sketch – no Easter eggs to be found on this one!
I started with a panel of the gorgeous printed vellum from the Floral Romance Specialty DSP and used Glue Dots to adhere it to a Whisper White panel. I used a bunch of the Glue Dots – all stuck under the leaves and flowers on the vellum – to hide them!
Then I matted that all on Fresh Fig for the card front.
I used more Glue Dots to wrap a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon around the card front – securing it in the back.
For the sentiment, I stamped the Fable Friends greeting in Fresh Fig on Whisper White and cut it out with the smallest circle Stitched Shapes Framelits die. I matted that on a scalloped Fresh Fig circle and straight-side circle in Pear Pizzazz – both cut with a Circles Layering Framelits die.
I popped the layered sentiment onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a Pearl Basic Jewel. I liked how that Pearl looked so much – I added one to each of the Fresh Fig flowers on the card front! 🙂
Finally, I resorted to an old favorite – a double-loop bow in Linen Thread with a simple bow in Old Olive Linen Thread on top. I adhered it with a Glue Dot – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I used the big leaves from the Wonderful Romance stamp set and stamped them in stamped-off-once Sahara Sand on a Whisper White panel. Around them, in stamped-off-TWICE Pear Pizzazz, I added the little splatter image. I colored just the tiniest leaves with my Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Fresh Fig mat and into my Pear Pizzazz card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the Wonderful Romance leaves on the front in full-strength Sahara Sand, surrounded by stamped-off-ONCE Pear Pizzazz splatters and colored with my Stampin’ Blend.
…and then I added a different, non-vellum, design from the Floral Romance Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I am, for sure, going to miss this Floral Romance Specialty DSP the very most when it leaves us! I just love it – and love how it coordinates with the Wonderful Romance stamp set. And the Fable Friends stamp set gave me the perfect Easter greeting! I hope you like -no LOVE!!

So simple, but so beautiful and elegant with the addition of the pearls. I, too, will miss that paper and a lot of other items I saw in the update. I can’t keep up with the changes, let alone daily living!
There’s a lot of change ahead, for sure – but I know it will all be for the better! Thanks, Karen! 🙂
Beautiful Mary and so easy I can do it. Thanks for the idea.
Thanks, Shirley! 🙂
Great choice!
Thanks, Mom! 🙂
Beautiful Mary! Love the clean design and that vellum panel is stunning! Perfectly embellished. 🙂
Thanks, Amy! 🙂
Another gorgeous card, Mary. But, then, I expect that from you. I guess this month’s hop would be pretty lacking without that spectacular Wonderful Romance Bundle and DSP! Sorry to see it retire. I love that you used the Burlap Ribbon with the elegant paper.
Thanks, Julie – it’s a nice contrast of rustic and elegant, I think! 🙂
Gorgeous card, Mary!! I will be CASEing this one for sure!
Thanks, Elisha! Have fun! 🙂
Absolutely gorgeous Mary 🙂
Thanks, Karen! 🙂
I have one small piece of this DSP left….may have to use it for Easter like you did! Very pretty card! Glad you shared it at Fusion!
Thank you, Linda – it’s just the prettiest paper, isn’t it? Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
