Stampin’ Up! Pine Bough Christmas Greetings

Happy Tuesday and Day 2 of Online Extravaganza, y’all!  Hope you’re doing some shopping!  Don’t forget that I’ve got a great Ordering Special going on right now – be sure to scroll on down and get all the details!

Wanted to share a quick little picture of Finn-Chewie.

finn-watching-the-tub
This is what an-almost-6-month-old Aussie does when you take him in the bathroom with you while you take a bath.  Easiest way to keep track of His Busy-ness without putting him in the kennel.  He really didn’t think this was a “normal” activity.  He did, however, avail himself of a little tiny taste of the water.  And then I think he decided….”well, I guess I’ve been abducted adopted by a goofy-woman, so I might as well just chill and wait to see what she comes up with next!” 🙂

He’s developing into a nice little “go-with-the-flow” kind of guy – and that’s a heck of a trait for a little dog!  One of my favorite traits, actually! 🙂

Now.  Card for today.  You guys may notice that one of the items that’s on the Online Extravaganza list (at 30% off!) is the wonderful Pine Bough TIEF.  So I wanted to do a little something with that for you.  I added in some Christmas Pines and Pretty Pines Thinlits.  And, just cuz I have it, I used the Christmas Greetings Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

This card used a sketch challenge from Sunday Stamps as inspiration for the layout.

The color palette came from the Just Us Girls Color Week Challenge.

Finally, I think it’s pretty clean-and-simple, so I played along with The Paper Players

pp-332-sketch
I started with a piece of Gold paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack and SNAILd it to an Elegant Eggplant card stock mat.

Next up is a piece of Fancy Frost Specialty Designer Paper.  I used a Sponge Dauber, dipped in Bermuda Bay ink and wiped off pretty good on scrap paper (so that there was hardly any ink left on it) and oh-so-lightly brushed it over the embossed portions of the paper.  Then I SNAILd it to an Elegant Eggplant mat and to the card front.

The central art is a piece of Gold Foil, embossed in the Pine Bough TIEF, matted on Elegant Eggplant and then popped onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut three of the “peace” dies with the Christmas Greetings Thinlits die – one in Bermuda Bay and two in Elegant Eggplant and stacked and adhered them with Liquid Glue and then added that to the card.

For my little embellishment, I cut a Pretty Pines Thinlits pine cone from Elegant Eggplant and Gold Foil backer, and adhered them together with Liquid Glue.  I also cut a little Bermuda Bay berry sprig.

Using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, I adhered the berry sprig and the pinecone to the card front.  Then – and this is the only persnickety piece of the whole card! – I made a bow.  Wait for it!!  It’s four strands of Gold Metallic thread and four strands of Black Metallic Thread.

Yea.  Eight stands of thread.  Trust me – you gotta hold your mouth just right, and this one definitely takes a tongue-stuck-out-the-right-side to work!  I used a little dab of Liquid Glue to adhere it! 🙂

And that was it for the front of the card!

On the inside, I embossed the corner of a Whisper White panel in the Pine Bough TIEF and then lightly brushed it with my almost-dry Bermuda Bay Sponge Dauber.  Then I added a sentiment from Christmas Pines in Elegant Eggplant.

I SNAILd the panel to an Elegant Eggplant mat and into my Bermuda Bay card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

For my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I used Bermuda Bay to add a Christmas Pines bough on the front.  I stamped the first image off once, and the second image I stamped off twice…

…and I added more of the Gold paper from the Neutrals DSP Stack to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Pine Bough TIEF is absolutely one of my favorite things in the Holiday Catalog!  And getting it at 30% off is a great deal!  Guess what else?  You can get the Fancy Frost Specialty DSP at that same 30% off!  Score!  Hope you like.

Gotta love go with the flow! He is a sweetie for sure.

And today’s card is a winner too. Branch and a cone do it for me every time.

Just a clarification!! Did you use the dab of glue on the 8-strand bow or the tongue on the right side??!! Great card & what a great “go-with-the-flow” guy…….I’m surprised he didn’t plop right in the drink with you!!

    • On the bow – I had to be extra careful to NOT get it on the tongue-on-the-right-side! LOL! And – I briefly considered the possibility of a lap full of wet of Aussie! I suspect it wouldn’t have been pretty! Thanks Karen! 🙂

  5. Ina
