Welcome, y’all! Well – it’s Sunday, the four-day weekend is drawing to a close, and I have to go to Utah tomorrow. Not for a Stampin’ Up! convention, either. For work! And, of course, it’s fixin’ to snow there. I. Can. Hardly. Wait. 🙁 I’ll be there for a week. Bleh.
So, have I mentioned that Finn feels he should probably be a lap dog? Well – he does.
Who’s gonna say “no” to that face?!? Obviously not me! Maybe his dad.
Maybe Katy…
I believe her opinion is pretty clear…. 🙂
My card for today uses the fun Flurry of Wishes stamp set and the Snow Flurry Punch. And – you can get them bundled and on sale TOMORROW ONLY in the final 24-hour sale in the Online Extravaganza. 20% off makes this bundle available for $31.20! I added some This Christmas DSP and some snowflakes that I cut with the Christmas Stockings Thinlits and…here’s what I came up with!
Take a look-see:
Yes – it’s a z-box fold card. And this is one of my favorite fun-folds. It’s so easy, but it looks like a million bucks and it fits in a regular Medium Envelope. Winner winner!
One of these days, I’ll get a Tutorial posted for this kind of card, but for now….here’s a template for the folding part (the black portion of this card).
For this card, I knew I was using the Black and Vanilla snowflake paper from the This Christmas DSP, so I elected to use Basic Black for the folding portion of the card, and Silver Foil for all the mats.
I cut my Basic Black card stock and made the cut, score lines and folds like you see in the template. Using the Stampin’ Trimmer makes it easy to line up the 1″ cut line. Then I folded each fold so that my z-box was ready to go.
I cut all the Silver Foil mats and the This Christmas pieces and SNAILd them together, then I used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to add them to their respective panels in the z-box.
I cut two Very Vanilla panels and stamped the images from Flurry of Wishes in Soft Sky ink. My two sentiments are both heat embossed in Silver over top of the Soft Sky images. Then I sponged the edges with Bermuda Bay and adhered them to their respective panels.
And then it was time to decorate!
I stamped the double snowflake image in Versamark on Very Vanilla and heat embossed it in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Then I punched them out with the Snow Flurry Punch. Each one got a Rhinestone Basic Jewel in the center.
I also used the die from the Christmas Stockings Thinlits to cut a bunch of small snowflakes from Silver Glimmer Paper. Then I used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere them artfully about on the card. I made sure to make some that would “stand out” when the card was open. Just be sure that you don’t go crazy with the Glue and glue your z-box shut! 🙂
I used some more Liquid Glue to adhere the z-box to a Silver Foil mat and then I SNAILd the whole thing to a Bermuda Bay panel – and that completed the card! When you put the glue on, you’re only putting it on the back of the larger sentiment panel, and the one little 1″ piece on the bottom right. Nowhere else – or the “Z” won’t “box” or “fold”!
For my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I stamped some more Flurry of Wishes snowflake images in Soft Sky across the front…
…and I added some more This Christmas DSP to the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I sure hope that since the last card I made like this (see it right here!), you’ve tried one for yourself. If not…give it a shot! And be sure to snap up the Flurry of Wishes stamp set and Snow Flurry Punch tomorrow while it’s on sale! 🙂

That is an awesome design Mary! The colors are just perfect and I love the embossing. Great use of that designer paper! 🙂
Thanks much, Amy! 🙂
superbe carte +++++++++++++++++
Thank you, Nathalie! 🙂
Ha Ha, our Major (Aussie) LOVES to sit in the recliner. He used to lay beside “daddy”. Now he doesn’t fit so he drapes himself across his lap or gets behind his head and lays across his shoulders like a pillow. Hilarious!
Your card is beautiful. I am really drawn to the Z-fold. It gets such a WOW! reaction from the recipient.Have a safe trip.
Thanks, Debra – it’s one of my fave card types! Easy and WOW! Perfect combo. The Aussies are such characters. I can’t believe I’ve gone thru my whole 31 years without having one around! 😉
Oh. I don’t know which is more clear. Finn who is obviously basking or Katy who is having trouble summoning up the Christma spirit on this first Sunday of Advent!!! Priceless pairing.
Your absolutely spectacular card is another feat of engineering. And the flurry and the sentiment are perfect. The snow thing not so bueno for travel, but oh-so-beautiful to behold…as I am this morning. Just getting underway but full of promise.
They were pretty lucky pics! Thanks, Mom! 🙂
Et viola! You make it sound easy and it sure looks absolutely stunning but I think it’d be more like “and hours later, here is a masterpiece.” I appreciate you sharing the details so much…not that I could ever CASE it! But I do want to try the fun fold! Great job. You do amazing things!
Love the expression on Katy’s face. That’s a cat for you!
Safe travels.
Ha – trust me, if I can do it – you surely can! Give it a shot, Susan! And yes – that’s Katy (and cat’s) for you! Thanks so much! 🙂
Beautiful card! Thanks for the picture as well as the directions. I am a visual person and pictures really help. Safe travels.
I enjoy seeing pictures, too! Helps me a lot. Thanks so much, Kathy! 🙂
