Stampin’ Up! Pine Bough Christmas Greetings

Happy Tuesday and Day 2 of Online Extravaganza, y’all!  Hope you’re doing some shopping!  Don’t forget that I’ve got a great Ordering Special going on right now – be sure to scroll on down and get all the details!

Wanted to share a quick little picture of Finn-Chewie.

finn-watching-the-tub
This is what an-almost-6-month-old Aussie does when you take him in the bathroom with you while you take a bath.  Easiest way to keep track of His Busy-ness without putting him in the kennel.  He really didn’t think this was a “normal” activity.  He did, however, avail himself of a little tiny taste of the water.  And then I think he decided….”well, I guess I’ve been abducted adopted by a goofy-woman, so I might as well just chill and wait to see what she comes up with next!” 🙂

finn-by-the-tub
He’s developing into a nice little “go-with-the-flow” kind of guy – and that’s a heck of a trait for a little dog!  One of my favorite traits, actually! 🙂

Now.  Card for today.  You guys may notice that one of the items that’s on the Online Extravaganza list (at 30% off!) is the wonderful Pine Bough TIEF.  So I wanted to do a little something with that for you.  I added in some Christmas Pines and Pretty Pines Thinlits.  And, just cuz I have it, I used the Christmas Greetings Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Delicate Pine Embellished Ornaments for the Elegant Christmas Blog Hop

14650280_10211248288311309_13199545180675587_n
Good morning, y’all!  Welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop – this week’s theme is Elegant Christmas.  Amy left that wide-open for us to interpret any way we like.  So all the projects should be gorgeous – please do check out all the ladies’ blogs when you get done here!

And – send Happy Birthday thoughts to my mom today!  Happy Birthday, Mom! 🙂

For me, anything for and at Christmas is better with pine boughs.  I love going to Costco and garden centers at Christmas just to smell the pine.  I even bought those Glade air freshener thingys that are pine scented – and plugged them in in my hotel room when I was away in Arizona at the beginning of the year.  So when I walked into my room in the evening…I was met with “Christmas”! 🙂

So when I saw “Elegant Christmas”, I knew I was going to have pine boughs.  And Elegant sort of immediately made me think of the Annual Catalog  set – Embellished Ornaments and the Delicate Ornament Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

delicate-pine-embellished-ornament-4-stamps-n-lingers
I started with a panel of Whisper White card stock which I ran thru the Pine Bough TIEF – twice.  I moved the panel in the TIEF so that I’d have pretty pine boughs all over the card front.  Then I SNAILd it to a Copper Foil mat.

The ornament is two pieces, both cut with the Delicate Ornament Thinlits.  The backer is cut with the solid ornament die from Copper Foil.  The more intricate top piece is cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  I used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere them together.  I also cut a Copper Foil ornament top and the small center piece.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere them – and I left it to dry while I made dinner.  Cuz of how difficult it can be to adhere to Glimmer Paper!  When I got back to it, I added a few Pearl Basic Jewels to the center.

delicate-pine-embellished-ornament-2-stamps-n-lingers

I cut a few Garden Green boughs using the Pretty Pines Thinlits and uses a Sponge Dauber to brush them lightly with Whisper White Kraft Ink.  I also added some “snow” with a white Gel Pen.

I adhered the longer pine bough to the card front with Liquid Glue, then popped the ornament over that with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added the last two pine boughs with Liquid Glue.  Using Glue Dots, I added two Mini Pinecones, and a bow tied with three pieces of Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine.

delicate-pine-embellished-ornament-8-stamps-n-lingers
My sentiment is three die cuts from the Christmas Greetings Thinlits – I cut two in Cherry Cobbler and one in Garden Green and built it up with Liquid Glue, then added it to the card front.  And the card front was done! 🙂

delicate-pine-embellished-ornament-3-stamps-n-lingers
On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add the sentiment from Embellished Ornaments in Cherry Cobbler to a Whisper White panel.  Then I dry embossed the panel in the Pine Bough TIEF – twice.  Using a Sponge Dauber, I brushed the boughs with Garden Green ink.

delicate-pine-embellished-ornament-5-stamps-n-lingers
I SNAILd the panel to a Copper Foil mat and then into my Garden Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

For my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I inked the ornament from Embellished Ornaments in Versamark and stamped it on the envelope front, then heat embossed it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder…

delicate-pine-embellished-ornament-6-stamps-n-lingers
…and then I embossed the envelope flap in the Pine Bough TIEF and brushed it with Garden Green ink.

delicate-pine-embellished-ornament-7-stamps-n-lingers
Et Voila!  Elegant Christmas.  On a card!  Hope you like!

Scroll on down for the card cuts and all the goodies you need to make this one for yourself!

Stampin’ Up! Suite Seasons, Presents & Pinecones for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2
Mornin’, y’all –  welcome to another edition of the Happy Stampers Blog Hop.  It’s sketch week, so be sure to check out everyone’s take on it, okay?  It was kind of wide open, so I bet we see a lot of fun projects!

Here ’tis!

14034894_10210533680086550_298893949153736339_n
So, in my usual way of planning ahead and my wondrous time management, I didn’t make my card ahead.  I waited until Wednesday.  And, of course, work totally body slammed me!  My “real” job is feast or famine – well, in a world where feast is bad and famine is good!  Wednesday was a feast.  I worked on my other computer all day trying to make a document that was right before – get right again.  My Word document just bamboozled me.  So by the time I got done, I was brain-whupped!

Fortunately, I’d been sort of planning my card in my head kind of in the background.  Like…when you minimize a program and it just keeps running on your computer.  So, I was able to whip it up right quick.  And, since I’d planned on using the pretty Presents & Pinecones DSP and the Pine Bough TIEF and Suite Seasons….it was too easy!  Take a look-see:

suite-seasons-presents-pinecones-4-stamps-n-lingers
So, I started out by SNAILing a panel of Presents & Pinecones DSP to a Cherry Cobbler mat.  Then I cut a smaller piece of Whisper White.  I used Early Espresso to ink up just the words on the sentiment stamp in Suite Seasons, and lined it up with my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp right in the middle.

Then I lined the panel up in the Pine Bough TIEF, turning it this way and that.  I wanted more pine bough on the panel than I could fit at the top, so…I just decided to emboss right over the sentiment.  I figured – what’s the worst that could happen?  I hate it and have to make another one?  But – that didn’t happen!  It looked just right, so I SNAILd it to its own Cherry Cobbler mat and then onto the card front.

suite-seasons-presents-pinecones-2-stamps-n-lingers
My decoration is a bit of a reflection of the Presents & Pinecones DSP – the Emerald Envy pine boughs and the red bow (which is a prominent feature on another design)!  I cut a Cherry Cobbler bow using the the Bow Builder Punch and assembled it with Glue Dots.  Using the Pretty Pines THinlits, I cut a Whisper White pine cone and a Mint Macaron background pine cone and adhered them together with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  I also cut a couple of long Emerald Envy pine boughs and shorter Mint Macaron bough.

suite-seasons-presents-pinecones-8-stamps-n-lingers
I began the assembly with a few Glue Dots to wind some Silver Metallic Thread loops around.  Then I used Liquid Glue and added the pine boughs and cone.  Finally I stuck the bow on with Liquid Glue.  Using a Glue Dot, I nestled a little holly sprig from the Christmas Trinkets Embslliehments in for a final little sparkle.  And that was it for the card front!

suite-seasons-presents-pinecones-3-stamps-n-lingers
On the inside, I stamped a Whisper White panel with just the little pine image from the bottom of the Suite Seasons sentiment – using my Emerald Envy and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to ink the stamp directly.

suite-seasons-presents-pinecones-5-stamps-n-lingers
I SNAILd the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done.

On my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I repeated the pine image from Suite Seasons on the front…

suite-seasons-presents-pinecones-6-stamps-n-lingers
…and added more of the Presents & Pinecones DSP to the envelope flap.

suite-seasons-presents-pinecones-7-stamps-n-lingers
Et Voila!  Stampin’ Up! gave us perfect tools to use to put together a pretty card – even when our brains have been bamboozled!  Pretty Pines Thinlits, the Suite Seasons stamp set and some Presents & Pinecones DSP (which is one of the papers on the buy-three-get-one-free special!).  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Pines Simple Joys for CAS(E) This Sketch

Good morning – again!  This is my second post for the day – if you’re looking for my Happy Stampers Blog Hop card, check it out here!

I was honored and amazed when the talented ladies over at CAS(E) This Sketch asked me to be a Guest Designer for them!  Wow.  That’s kind of a big deal.

I accepted with gratitude – and trepidation!  So, here’s a little life lesson I’ve learned.  When you’re doing something big – like this was for me – you don’t pick this time to think outside of the box.   I mean, yea – there’s a time and a place for getting out of that box, but for me, this wasn’t it!  So, I ran into my wheelhouse, slammed the door behind me and huddled with my back in the corner.  Holding my This Christmas DSP, and the wonderful Christmas Pines bundle in front of me for protection! 🙂

Here’s the sketch they asked me to design to…be sure to head over there and check it out, okay?

cts-192-sketch
And – using the aforementioned protective stamps and thinlits and designer paper – here’s what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Endless Thanks This Christmas Pines!

Happy Saturday, y’all!  Hope you’ve got something fun planned.  My goal – yes, I actually have a goal – is to finish the living room re-arrangement that I started on Friday.

I’ve now officially annexed half of my living room as my craft area.  When Wayne gets home tonight, he’s gonna be….a little surprised. 😉

Now, to be fair, I have a really large living room – so there’s space.  It just doesn’t look like anything you’re likely to see in a design magazine, you know?  And yes – I have an extra bedroom that I could set up in – but…I’m not a fan of being “off in a corner”.  I don’t need quiet to work – I like the television yakking in the background and activity around me.  Keeps me going!

Also – Martha Stewart never comes to visit and it’s my living room.

So…there!

My card for today depends on texture and a fun fold for its interest.  I made a thank you note, using the Endless Thanks stamp set, adding some This Christmas DSP in a fun drapery fold, some Pretty Pines boughs and some texture from the Pine Bough TIEF.  Take a look-see:

endless-thanks-this-christmas-4-stamps-n-lingers
I used a tutorial from the Split Coast Stampers website to make my This Christmas fun fold.  You can check it out right here.

I started by cutting a piece of This Christmas DSP to 7 3/4″ x 3″.  Then I cut the angle, per the tutorial.  I made y’all a template:

drape-fold-template
Make a mark 1 1/2″ down the right side, and 3″ over from the bottom left corner, and use your trimmer to cut from point to point, to create the angle.

Then use your trimmer or Simply Scored Board to score at 3″, 3 1/2″, 5″ and 6 1/8″.  Make an accordion fold – folding the 3″ as a valley and then alternate mountain and valley.  Use a little SNAIL or Fast Fuse to adhere the folds down to the paper.

endless-thanks-this-christmas-1-stamps-n-lingers
I wanted my fold to be card-front sized, so I trimmed the un-folded side to make it be 4″ wide.

For the card front itself, I ran a panel of Garden Green card stock thru my Big Shot in the Pine Bough TIEF.  Then I used SNAIL and Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere the folded This Christmas DSP to the panel.

I ran a length of Cherry Cobbler 3/8″ Silky Taffeta Ribbon around the panel, topping it with a length of Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim and securing them both in the back with scotch tape.  Over that, I ran some Linen Thread and Garden Green Baker’s Twine.

endless-thanks-this-christmas-2-stamps-n-lingers
I stamped my Endless Thanks sentiment in Early Espresso in the unembossed portion of the card front.

For my embellishment, I cut a couple of pine boughs with my Pretty Pines Thinlits in Garden Green and Crumb Cake.  I also cut a small “bow” and some berries from Cherry Cobbler.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the ribbon…

endless-thanks-this-christmas-8-stamps-n-lingers
The last little touch was to make a bow from Linen Thread and Garden Green Baker’s Twine, capturing a couple of Mini Pinecones as I tied the bow.  I used a Glue Dot to adhere it over top of the card stock bow.  And that was it for the card front!

endless-thanks-this-christmas-3-stamps-n-lingers
On the inside, I took a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and cut two pine boughs from the corner using my Pretty Pines Thinlits.  Then I used SNAIL and Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to my Garden Green mat.  I made sure to get Liquid Glue on each of the little “needles”, to ensure the card stock was thoroughly adhered to the mat.

endless-thanks-this-christmas-5-stamps-n-lingers
I SNAIL the liner into my Crumb Cake card base and added the card front with SNAIL as well, and the card was done!

On my Crumb Cake Medium Envelope, I used the two Very Vanilla pine boughs that I’d cut from the inner liner, and adhered them with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to the front…

endless-thanks-this-christmas-6-stamps-n-lingers
…and added some more of the sheet music from This Christmas to the envelope flap.

endless-thanks-this-christmas-7-stamps-n-lingers
Et Voila!  Sorry to keep using this piney set, but… I really love it!  And, I think it really shows that the same bundle can make so very many different kinds of “looks”, don’t you?!  Hope you like! 🙂

Scroll on down for the card cuts and all the goodies you need to make this for yourself!

Stampin’ Up! Wisteria Wonder Perfect Christmas Pines!

Mornin’, y’all!  It’s Friday.  Before a 3-day weekend – the last big one of the summer!  If you’re headed somewhere this weekend, please be safe!  And have fun!  And watch out for Hermine.  Is Hermione copyrighted?  Does an “o” cost more?  I don’t know – I’m calling it Hermione anyway.  That’s the hurricane hitting Florida today.  She should be gone by the weekend proper, so you’ll be good…

So.  A little story.  About a 1000 million years ago, before the internet…okay, there was internet, but I didn’t have a blog.  Heck, I wasn’t even a demonstrator!  About a 1000 million years ago, I saw this card on the internet.  Don’t think Pinterest was around….
