Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! Today’s a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table! I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
When I saw the color palette for the challenge this week, I thought of the Peaceful Poppies DSP right away. And then, I saw a cool sketch challenge and…boom! So Sentimental and the awesome bundled Stitched So Sweetly Dies came off the shelf. Take a look-see:
Here’s our color challenge.
And this is the sketch that gave me the “boom!” moment. It’s from the Tuesday Morning Sketches.
I started with a design in the Peaceful Poppies DSP and matted it on Old Olive for the card front.
I wrapped some of the Old Olive ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack (get the whole suite on 1 April 2020!!) twice around the card front – securing it in the back with Glue Dots.
Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the flowers from the Painted Poppies stamp set in stamped-off-twice Poppy Parade on a piece of Poppy Parade paper from the Peaceful Poppies DSP.
Again with the Stamparatus, I stamped the So Sentimental sentiment in Tuxedo Black – stamping the image multiuple times to get it good and dark.
Then I cut the image/sentiment with the next-to-largest rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly die set. I also cut the same size from an Old Olive piece of the DSP.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere both die cuts to the card front – keeping the sentiment panel straight and angling the “mat” die cut.
I pulled out the Peaceful Poppies Elements and chose a couple of vellum flowers and some vellum leaves. Using Glue Dots (under the embossed portions of the velum) – I adhered the flowers. Then I used little dabs of Liquid Glue to tuck the leaves in under the flowers.
I tied a double-loop simple bow from the Old Olive Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot. Finally, I added some Peaceful Poppies Sequins with little dabs of Liquid Glue – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I added a sentiment from Peaceful Moments in Tuxedo Black on Whisper White, using the Stamparatus. Over the top, in stamped-off-twice Poppy Parade – I added those pretty poppies again!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Old Olive mat and into my Blackberry Bliss card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Painted Poppies on the front…
…and some more of the Peaceful Poppies DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love it when several sets and bundles can come together as well as the So Sentimental bundle, Painted Poppies and Peaceful Moments sets have done in this card. The Peaceful Poppies DSP is the perfect tie-er-together-er, don’t you think?! I hope you like!
