Happy Happy Hawwmp day, y’all! We’re here in the south with just a “little rain” this week – LOL. Which is to say – we’re soaking here. I actually put a rain jacket on this morning to go out to the barn. Yes – it’s been THAT wet today. Bleh!
I took a meander thru my card stash this week and realized that I don’t have any sympathy cards. We don’t like it, but…we all know that the need for a sympathy card is always looming, right? I decided that I’d best get busy. Which is exactly what I did today, using the Peaceful Moments stamp set and just a splash of color from a little Peaceful Poppies DSP. Take a look-see:
I love this layout and it came from the Mojo Monday sketch challenge! I’m so glad this challenge was re-invigorated by Julee Tilman! 🙂
I started by cutting the second-to-largest rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly Die Set from a Whisper White panel. I used the same die to cut a Basic Black rectangle. Then I put the black rectangle in the hole in the white panel – and ran the whole thing thru my die cutting machine in the Stone 3D Embossing Folder (which…comes with the Power Of Hope stamp set as a $100 reward from the 2020 Sale-A-Bration First Release!).
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the Whisper White Panel to a Basic Black met – then adhered the black die cut into the negative space.
I cut the same size rectangle from a piece of the Peaceful Poppies DSP and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I pulled out my Peaceful Poppies Elements and, on a black circle die cut, stamped the sentiment from Peaceful Poppies in Versamark Ink. I sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.
I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere another die cut from Peaceful Poppies Elements – the scalloped-edge strip – across the card front. Then I popped the circle sentiment on with Dimensionals as well. And…the card front was done!
On the inside, I used my Stamparatus to add a second sentiment in Tuxedo Black to a Whisper White panel. On the bottom, I adhered another Peaceful Poppy Element die cut with Liquid Glue. I also used Liquid Glue to adhere a single Peaceful Poppy Sequin by the sentiment. With my Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker – I carefully filled in the little hole in the middle of the adhered sequin! 😉
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Poppy Parade card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Peaceful Poppy Element die cut on the front…
…and a little more Peaceful Poppies DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I do so love this gorgeous Peaceful Poppies DSP, don’t you? The colors are simply stunning and they can do ALL the work for you! Add in the sentiments with their beautiful fonts from the Peaceful Moments stamp set and…boom!! I hope you like!

Such a pretty card, your colors are perfect and the embossed die cut pieces are so pretty for your sentiment and scalloped layer. Hmmm…wonder who is under that towel? Must be the cat. 😉
You figured it out! It IS the cat! 😉 Thanks, Amy! 🙂
Who could not love that sweet snoozle! I wonder what he was thinking at the time? Your card is a perfect take on the sketch and I’m glad Julie returned. I’ll have to add her back into my challenge list. TFS.
He was thinking – hurry up, Mom – I want to play a little towel-tug!! Thanks much, Karen! 🙂
