Stampin’ Up! Falling For You Anniversary Wishes

Good morning, y’all! How’s the weekend going so far? Didja miss that extra hour this morning?

You did set your clocks forward an hour last night when you went to bed, yes? Or do you prefer to wake up and then…lose an hour of your day?

So…I started – started – typing this blog post at 1000 last night. Which is approximately 2 hours past my TUC (Time of Useful Consciousness). And that means my ability to be coherent – let alone witty! – is at an extreme low!

And so…I decided to make this a teaser blog post. 😉 And then I’ll do a live Facebook video tonight at 8pm Eastern to show you how to make it. How does that sound? You guys know we live in Georgia, close to Atlanta. Atlanta is the HQ of Coca Cola.

Which is why it’s odd to see signs in diners and restaurants that say “Georgia Loves Diet Mt. Dew”.

Being that Mt. Dew is a Pepsi product…

But – this house does, indeed, love Diet Mt. Dew!

Even the dog.

Well, maybe he doesn’t care so much about the contents, but he’s fiend for the bottles!!

Stampin’ Up! Falling For You for a Wedding

Happy Tuesday, y’all! Back to work – hope your long weekend was relaxing. Or productive. Whichever you wanted it to be! 🙂 I got…part of my list done. At least the Christmas tree is put away for another year!

I had some help card making today.

Those lips just crack me up! I’m not sure what, exactly, he wanted right here. Some form of attention, no doubt. He got his picture taken, instead.

Okay – and I kissed his schnoozle.

How could I not?!? 🙂

The card he was trying to help me with is one I made as a contender to give to my friend for his wedding in February. I used the new Falling For You stamp set and some Falling in Love DSP, with the So Detailed Thinlits. Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Avant Garden Banner Thanks

Good Monday morning, y’all! Another week begins! We got our Christmas tree…half way down this weekend. Too cold to get the big tree box out of the garage store room. So it sits in white-lighted splendor. Nekkid but for the lights. I wish I had room to leave it up all year – I love the lights so much!!

I’ve mentioned that it’s cold. By which I mean ridiculously cold. Unless you’re an Australian Shepherd.

I invited him back in three times. He politely declined! Just sittin’ in the sun, enjoying the day. While mom freezes her hindquarters off (I wish!) trying to get him back in.

“Me. It’s all about me! Even have a picture frame that says so. They love me so much…”

He did finally come in – even a fur-ball finally gets a little chilly!

So ever since our non-snow-lots-of-ice event of 2017, I’ve been thinking on this picture I took.

I wanted to make a card inspired by this icy branch, so…I pulled out the Falling in Love DSP and used the design that is a…well – icy branch! And I embellished it with some Copper embossed Avant Garden (free in the Sale-A-Bration flyer) flowers and a couple of sentiments from Banners for You. Take a look-see:

I used the Freshly Made Sketches challenge for my layout inspiration.

To begin, I cut a small panel of Vellum card stock for my artwork. I rubbed it a bit with my Embossing Buddy, then stamped the Avant Garden flower twice in Versamark. I sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed the image. I lightly colored the flowers with my Sweet Sugarplum Stampin’ Write Marker, and the leaves with Pear Pizzazz.

I adhered the embossed panel to a piece of Falling In Love DSP – using Liquid Glue only behind the embossed image to hide it. Then I wrapped a piece of Very Vanilla 1/4″ Satin Ribbon around the panel – being sure that the edge of the Vellum was trapped under it. Next came a piece of Blushing Bride 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon, with a piece of Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim over the top, wrapped around the panel and secured in the back with scotch tape.

I SNAILd the whole thing to a mat of Blushing Bride card stock.

My sentiment is from the Banners For You stamp set, stamped in Sweet Sugarplum on a piece of Very Vanilla and cut with a die from the Bunch of Banners Framelits set. I used my Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker to edge the banner, and secured it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I embellished the sentiment with a Classy Designer Button, adhered with Liquid Glue, and a small bow from Blushing Bride Solid Baker’s Twine. To finish the card front, I added a few Pearl Basic Jewels.

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Banners for You in Sweet Sugarplum to a Very Vanilla panel. Across the bottom, I stamped a couple of images from the Delicate Details stamp set (also a free Sale-A-Bration item!) in Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand.

I SNAILd the panel to a Blushing Bride mat and into my Sahara Sand card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

For my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I stamped two more Avant Garden flowers in Sahara Sand on the front. Then I used my Blender Pens to color the flowers with Sweet Sugarplum and Blushing Bride ink, and the leaves with Pear Pizzazz…

…and I added more of the Falling in Love DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila! We’ve got some very very pretty stamp sets in the Sale-A-Bration flyer this time, don’t you think? I love the flowers in the Avant Garden set and they go so nicely on the Falling in Love DSP. Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Sitting Here in a Mediterranean Moment

Well, good morning! I’m typing this on Friday evening, as we sit in eager (?) anticipation of the arrival of Winter Storm Helena to the south. My entire office was closed today in Huntsville as were all of the schools. Here in GA, they sent everyone home early. No doubt to swing by the grocery store to get the obligatory 25 loaves of bread and 37 gallons of milk!

We refrained from a grocery run, but did have to go buy a few bags of feed for the Old Man. So…we took Finn-Chewie with us. I kind of didn’t want to, cuz the last time we went he resembled a bass at the end of the leash. Completely whack. So I almost took the easy way out and left him here. But, as Wayne pointed out, he’ll never figure it out if we never take him.

Dang – I hate when he’s all logical and right like that!!

Well. Apparently the work Finny and I have been doing in the mornings – on the leash, with training treats and the clicker – are paying off!! He was very very good! Perfect? Oh, no – not even. But…under control. Looked like a dog not a fish! Even did some stay-come-heel work. It wasn’t easy for him – lots of people he was sure wanted to pet him….but. He kept it together! I was very very proud.

He was a little surprised that I had so little faith…

When I got home, I whipped up a little card to share, using the pretty new stamp set called Mediterranean Moments. This one was created by Susan Nygaard – when she hit a Million Dollars in Sales! When I hit a million – my stamp set’s going to have a Haflinger and an Aussie – and not cartoon ones, either! Pretty ones – like in this set!

I used a nice little sentiment from the Sitting Here stamp set, and put it all together with some of the Falling in Love DSP. Take a look-see:

We went over to our friends’ house yesterday for New Year’s dinner (hope y’all had your black eyed peas and greens!). Finn joined us – and he and the kids wanted to pass along their wishes for a Happy New Year.

Yes, their eyes are glowing like they’re possessed!! They were pretty sure treats were involved and I think they were trying to cast some sort of feed-me-now spell!!

So, folks – day after tomorrow is the big day! The launch of the 2017 Occasions Catalog and the beginning of Sale-A-Bration! Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Thanks and Falling Flowers!

Happy Sunday, y’all! I hope you’re whittling down your get-ready-for-Christmas list. I managed to get thru a few things on Saturday, so I have half a shot at getting things to the mail tomorrow.

Every year, around Thanksgiving, an old and useful friend makes an appearance at our house. This came to me as one of the first Christmas gifts my soon-to-be-husband gave me. He didn’t actually go get it – he cut out a picture of it from the Service Merchandise catalog. Remember Service Merchandise?? Anyway, he cut it out and stuck it in an envelope. That was a hundred years ago. He’s gotten a little more with the Christmas spirit these days. Meaning…he panics around the 23rd and makes a heroic effort to make up for waiting so long! LOL.

But…we went to the Service Merchandise and got…

Yes. The workhorse of the kitchen! Not something I use every day or even every month. But…when it’s needed, it’s there. Dependable and sturdy and strong.

Kind of like my husband, I suppose you could say! 🙂

My card for today uses a fun Annual Catalog bundle: the Falling Flowers bundle, which is a part of the Irresistibly Floral Suite. The bundle includes the Falling Flowers stamp set and the matching May Flowers Framelits die set. To that, I pulled in the Thankful Thoughts stamp set for a couple of sentiments. And, cuz I could, I used a little more of the gorgeous Falling in Love DSP from the 2017 Occasions catalog. Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! So In Love Sneak Peek!

Hey, y’all – how goes the weekend for you? We had hephalumps and woozles flying by all day! That is to say…it was windy as all get out on Saturday! And the cold front came thru overnight – teasing us with clouds on Saturday morning. But it was a total tease – not a drop dropped on us.

Finn was introduced to the joy of having leaves (i.e.: toys!) falling all willy and nilly from the sky and blowing hither and yon. He liked it just fine! Did a lot of leaping about and snatching them from mid-air! I tried to get a picture of him, but…I was laughing too hard and he was galumphing about too much. So…I captured him when we sat down to do our blog post.

Chasing leaves is hard work. He delegated the blog post to me, because blogging is also hard work. Especially if you have paws for hands and no thumbs. Gives a whole new meaning to “hunt and peck”! 🙂 He’s laying plastered up against the chair in the kitchen where I work during the week and do much of my our blogging. I’m in my spot and he’s in his. It floors me how quickly we’ve all fallen into the routine – especially him. And how much I love the little mongrel already!

My card for today is not a Thanksgiving card. Nope. You’ll see a couple more of those before the big day – hope your turkey is thawing! – but for today…how’s about a sneak peek of a beautiful new Suite in the Occasions Catalog? Falling In Love…is a soft and romantic suite. I used the stamp set called So in Love and the gorgeous Falling in Love DSP. And called on the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits for a sentiment.
