Happy Friday, y’all! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week – we’ve been in the tropical storm pattern all week. Muggy. Hot. Rain every day.

Guess how well our lavender plants are doing?

If you guessed…not so well, then…you are correct! We’ve got as much drainage as we could manage but…the little babies are struggling with their wet feet.

They may have trench foot. Hmm. Maybe I need to sprinkle some Dr. Scholl’s foot powder on them? 🤔🤔🤔

Stampin’ Up! Gather Together Video Sneak Peek

Good Morning, y’all! Happy weekend to you! Hope you’ve got something planned. And hoping that whatever it is is fun!

We have plans to re-introduce the Finn-man to the joys of…a shampoo and blow out.

Which I would like myself!!

But – HE gets it instead. Got to get some of that hair and that….aroma?…off!! Going to do it in the barn – versus taking him to Puppy Tubs. Might regret that decision…. 😉

Tonight – after the spa day – I’ll be going live at 7pm Eastern on my Stamps-N-Lingers FB page. I’ve got a fun card – well, I think it’s fun! – for you using a returning favorite stamp set and die! Take a sneaky peek.

Stamps-N-Lingers July 2020 Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin Peek!

Hey y’all – happy Friday! Sorry I missed you guys yesterday on YouTube – it was one of those days where I was at the mercy of the medical establishment. And – since all things run on their time-line (and not ours!), canceling our video just seemed like the prudent thing to do!

But…I missed ya! 🙁

For today – I thought I’d give you a peek at the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit called…Summer Nights! It’s a lot of fun – it makes luminarias and postcards if you make it according to the instructions in the kit! There’s also an Add-On – with note cards and envelopes to transform the leftovers – or the primary pieces depending on what you want to do! – into regular cards. Check out the kit!

First up – there’s the exclusive Summer Nights stamp set and a Blackberry Bliss Ink Spot…

Then it all opened up to reveal the goodies needed to create nine postcards and coordinating envelopes, as well as nine die-cut tealight bags.

I also bought the add on…

I love these lanterns strung on the twine, don’t you? With the fireworks in the background – it really says easy summer nights!

This next one is one of my faves! Here in Georgia, the lightning bugs have really been in out in force this summer! Like…more than I’ve seen in a long time. They often come right up to our windows and “bug” us! 😉 These cuties on this card – yep. They’re JUST like that!

The last one looks like summer on the boardwalk! And actually makes me think back to two summers ago when we were in Seattle before our cruise. We walked down to the pier and there was the giant ferris wheel! We didn’t ride it, but…it would have been fun. HIGH – but fun!

I’ve got cards and envelopes left-over – so they’ll be awesome bases for more projects! I think they’ll be great for birthday and congrats cards, don’t you? And – did you notice the uber-cute lightning bugs on the inside of the envelope flaps? #nonekkidenvelopes!

Stampin’ Up! Many Mates Whale Done Cngrats Card

Happy Monday, y’all! Sorry to start the week with an oxymoron! 😉

I made a fun Congratulations card for you guys today using the Many Mates (yes – a most-awesome sentiment stamp set!), Whale Done and the Whale of a Time DSP. Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

And I used the inspiration photo from this week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.

I started with a piece of the wunnermus Whale of a Time DSP that I matted on Calypso Coral for the card front.

Next, I embossed a Whisper White panel in the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder, matted it on Calypso Coral, and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

The horizontal element is another piece of the Whale Done DSP, matted on Calypso Coral and adhered with Liquid Glue.

For the sentiment, I cut a third design of the DSP with the largest square Stitched Shapes Die. In the corner, in Calypso Coral ink, I added a Many Mates sentiment. Then I popped the square onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I fussy cut three turtles from one of the DSP designs and adhered the two smaller ones to the sentiment square with Liquid Glue (and a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional to support some of the parts hanging over the edge…). The bottom turtle is popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

I used little dabs of Liquid Glue to adhere a few Whale of a Time Sequins and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Many Mates sentiment in Calypso Coral to a Whisper White panel. Then I stamped the turtle from Whale Done across the bottom of the panel in Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Blackberry Bliss. I added some Pool Party bubbles. 🙂

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Calypso Coral mat and into my Pacific Point card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Whale Done turtles and bubbles across the front…

…and a little more of the Whale of a Time DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila! I love the gorgeous images in the Whale of a Time DSP, don’t you? And fussy cutting the turtles really turned out cute, I think.

Also handy that there’s that cute turtle image in the Whale Done stamp set – making it easy to carry the theme into the inside and onto the envelope! Many Mates lends the perfect sentiments to the whole thing! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

We got hay the other day.

You knew that cuz I toldja.

Thought you might like a picture or two of the process.

Once we get the hay home – the real hot and dusty work begins.

Thankfully, Wayne does most of the hard stuff – with the help of the big tractor – complete with A/C and a radio!

Get it off the trailer….

Drop it on the ground to get it up on end and then carry it to the barn.

Then he stacks it in – using that giant tractor like a precision instrument!

Finn – in the meantime – is helping me supervise from the golf cart. Which has NEITHER A/C nor radio!

Tongue deployed.

The end result is…10 bales in the barn…

…And two more in the hay room!

Will last us close to a year!

Life is good!

Stampin’ Up! Happiest of Birthdays Fun Fold with Video Tutorial for The Paper Players

Hey y’all – it’s Sunday, which means I’ve got another fun challenge for you from the Paper Players – it’s a clean-and-simple theme challenge from Jaydee. Our theme is CELEBRATION! – which is appropriate since this is The Paper Player’s 500th Challenge!! Whoo-hoo!! I hope you’ll come and play along to help us celebrate! 🙂

I picked birthday celebration for my theme – and pulled from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set for my big bold focal sentiment. I added it atop some relatively subtle plaid from the new Plaid Tidings DSP – coming on 4 Aug in the Aug – Dec 2020 Mini Catalog!! Take a look-see:

I also pulled a little help for the layout of the smaller “card” on the front of my fun-fold from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

This is a SUPER easy fun fold, y’all! It probably looks familiar – cuz I did a similar fold not too long ago, using the Forever Fern Bundle!

For this one, I started with a piece of gorgeous plaid paper from the Plaid Tidings DSP pack that I matted on Misty Moonlight and then adhered to my Bumble Bee card base with Liquid Glue.

I cut a smaller piece of the same plaid and matted it on Misty Moonlight – to make the card front for the small card.

I placed a piece of Whisper White into my Stamparatus and, using the Marker-to-Rubber technique, stamped the Happiest of Birthdays sentiment. I colored the large letters with my Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Write Marker and used the Pretty Peacock Marker for the small letters.

I used a Stitched Rectangle Die that was the right width – but too long – to cut the sentiment. I made it smaller by running the cut thru my die cutting machine a second time. The video shows how to do that – way easier than words would do! You can scroll thru to about the 14 minute mark! 🙂

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a small strip of Bumble Bee plaid from Plaid Tidings to the bottom of the sentiment, then popped the whole thing onto the small card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a single Bumble Bee 2020-2021 In Color Enamel Dot – and the small card front was done.

For the inside, I matted another strip of the Bumble Bee Plaid Tidings DSP on Misty Moonlight and then adhered it to a Whisper White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight mat and into the small Bumble Bee card base – then I adhered that whole little card to the larger card base – offset to the left – with Liquid Glue – and the fun-fold card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another fun sentiment from Happiest of Birthdays on the front – in Pretty Peacock ink…

…and more of the blue-toned Plaid Tidings DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! The Happiest of Birthdays stamp set is perfect for clean-and-simple cards – the big bold sentiments really do all the work! It’s also handy to have a cute sentiment for those SO FEW times you MIGHT be a little-bit-late with a card! 😉

And – Stampin’ Up! heard us when we asked for MORE PLAID!! The new Plaid Tidings DSP is gorgeous!!

Good morning and welcome to the weekend!

We’ve got a few errands – all masked up, thank you very much. And then this afternoon, if we can beat the rain, it’s time to get a load of hay for the ladies! Getting hay in when it’s a million degrees with the same humidity? Oh yes – horse ownership is a glamorous life, indeed! 😉 But – the sense of well being that comes from a barn full to the rafters with round bales of good horse hay…can’t be beat for a horse owner. So – we’ll get it done.

Thank GOODNESS for heavy equipment. That’s all I have to say about that! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

On Friday – we took a big excursion to the bank to cash a check.

It’s about 5 miles round trip. And that includes the 1/3 mile of driveway!!

But – when asked, Finn enthusiastically agreed that a quick trip to the bank was just the thing for a too-hot-for-furry-dogs Friday.

So…we all piled into the van and headed out.

Why did he want to go?

Well – any ride – any time – anywhere is sort of his motto.

Also? The teller ALWAYS passes a milk bone for him.

Any bone – any time – anywhere.

See a pattern?

We left the window down some for him on the way home.

He likes that a lot!

If you look close in this next one – you can see his lips blowing in the breeze.

That’s how you know it’s been a good ride.

Your lips get blown!

Stamps-N-Lingers Snowflake Splendor Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

When I saw the colors this week, I first thought…”ocean”. So I headed to the Whale Done bundle and Whale of a Time DSP. But THEN….I thought…SNOW! So, I totally pivoted and went for the new Snowflake Splendor Suite goodies in the Aug – Dec 2020 Mini Catalog (available to customers on 4 Aug!). Take a look-see:

And here’s our oceany/snowflakey color challenge this week (I picked Balmy Blue for my fourth color)!

I used the sketch side of the current FUSION challenge for the layout.

I started with a piece of Pool Party paper from the Snowflake Splendor DSP and I embossed it in the Winter Snow Embossing Folder (coming on 4 Aug), then I matted it on Pacific Point for the card front.

Next, using the smallest square Stitched Shapes Dies, I cut 12 squares from a different paper in the Snowflake Splendor DSP. Using Liquid Glue, I adhered them in a grid on the card front.

Using Stampin’ Seal, I adhered a few loops of new Snowflake Splendor 1/4″ Ribbon (also coming on 4 Aug).

With the So Many Snowflakes dies – the MOST wunnermus die set bundled with the Snowflake Wishes stamp set in the suite – I cut some Whisper White snowflakes and some Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper (loooooove this!!!). I adhered them here, there and everywhere on the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a strip of Whisper White, in Just Jade ink, I stamped the Snowflake Wishes sentiment. I snipped banner-ends with my Paper Snips and popped the banner onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems (part of the suite and available on 4 Aug) and some Pool Party gems from the Holiday Rhinestones (available right now in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog). And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Snowflake Wishes in Just Jade on a Whisper White panel. I added some stamped snowflakes in Pool Party and Balmy Blue, and adhered a die cut Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper snowflake. I added some Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems and Holiday Rhinestones, just cuz I could!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pacific Point mat and into my Just Jade card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Snowflake Wishes snowflakes on the front…

…and a little more Snowflake Splendor DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! Y’all – we’ve had a lot of snowflake bundles – with stamp sets and snowflake dies – but this Snowflake Wishes with the wonderful So Many Snowflakes Dies is simply stunning!!

And the Snowflake Splendor DSP and Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper are gorgeous, right?

And – although it’s not just POPPING out at you on this card, you’re going to want the Winter Snow Embossing Folder (I promise!).

Stampin’ Up! Itty Bitty Christmas Poinsettia Petals Sneak Peek

Hey guys – Happy HAWWWWMP day!! And uhm…it’s Tax Day in the Time of COVID, so….don’t forget!

FYSA – f you’re expecting a new Aug – Dec 2020 Mini Catalog from me in the mail – give it a couple of days and then start looking and bugging Mr. Postman.

And – don’t flame me – I know there are Postwomans…but so far there hasn’t been a song, okay?

In that catalog, one of the MANY wonderful new goodies you’ll see is the Poinsettia Place Suite – anchored by today’s Sneak Peek – the Poinsettia Petals Bundle and Poinsettia Place DSP! I paired those new goodies with the fun and handy Itty Bitty Christmas set from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. Take a look-see:

Yep – jumped smack back into my wheelhouse – layers, big bows, greenery and woodgrain! Whoo-hooo!!

The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch challenge over at CAS(E) This Sketch.

I started with some woodgrain paper from the new Poinsettia Place DSP – there are some wonderful designs to choose from in this paper, y’all! And – you can try them all out with one of my paper shares. Just sayin’….

I matted that paper on a piece of Soft Suede with Liquid Glue to create the card front.

Then I took a die in the Stitched Triangles die set – this is destined to be one of my go-to layering die sets!! – and cut a piece of pine-cone-strewn paper.

I laid it on the card front and then put the whole thing into my Stamparatus. With the triangle in place – held with the magnets – I added the small sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas in Soft Suede. I stamped it multiple times in order to get it dark enough and visible on the wood-grain paper.

I stamped the pine bough from Poinsettia Place in Garden Green a couple of times on the card front.

Then I cut a couple of holly leaves using the cutting die and the embossing die in the set. I spritzed the card stock with water before cutting – to really emphasize the embossed veins in the leaves.

I also cut some berries from the wunnermus Brushed Metallic 12″ x 12″ card stock (I used the Bronze – but there’s also copper and gold in the pack!).

Finally – and this is so stinkin’ cool! – I used the large die in the Poinsettia Die set to cut the flower from one of the designs in the Poinsettia Place DSP.

Whaaaaa??! 😉

I laid it all out and then adhered the leaves and berries with Liquid Glue.

Then I tied a Linen Thread double-loop bow and adhered it, and a Gold Hoop Embellishment, with a Glue Dot. I popped the flower over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some gold Metallic Pearls here, there and…in the middle of the flower…and four Antiqued Corners with Glue Dots – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I once again laid a Poinsettia Place DSP Stitched Triangle die cut on a piece of Whisper White and used my Stamparatus to stamp a second Itty Bitty Christmas sentiment in Soft Suede.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the triangle to the panel and then mat the panel on Soft Suede. Then I adhered the panel inside my Crumb Cake card base with Liquid Glue. I added the card front with Liquid Glue – plenty of dimension already – and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a poinsettia – two of the smaller flower images, stamped in Soft Suede and blended lightly with a Blender Pen, with the flower center colored using my Bumble Bee Stampin’ Write Marker – on the front…

…and more of the Poinsettia Place DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! Wow – how gorgeous is this Poinsettia Petals stamp set with the stunning bundled Poinsettia Dies?!?

And it’s made even better knowing you can cut perfectly colored flowers right from the Poinsettia Place DSP using that large die in the bottom righthand corner of the picture above! Oh, yea….you can ALSO cut the flocked poinsettia from the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper! Winner Winner!
