Happy Friday, y’all! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week – we’ve been in the tropical storm pattern all week. Muggy. Hot. Rain every day.
Guess how well our lavender plants are doing?
If you guessed…not so well, then…you are correct! We’ve got as much drainage as we could manage but…the little babies are struggling with their wet feet.
They may have trench foot. Hmm. Maybe I need to sprinkle some Dr. Scholl’s foot powder on them? 🤔🤔🤔
Or not….
So, if you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube live, I appreciate you spending some time with me – if not, but you’d like to see the replay, here ’tis! 🙂
I am really loving the In The Pines Bundle – with the wonderful tree images and simple sentiments for the season – and the bundled Pines Dies are truly stunning! I used them – with some returning Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP to make my fave fun fold – a Double-Easel. Take a look-see:
Since this is a pretty Christmas-y card – even without the actual WORD on the card – I decided I could play along with the Christmas in July theme over at The Card Concept. I think I’d classify this as somewhere between Clean-and-Layered and leaning toward Classy and Elegant, as far as the styles defined on the challenge. I took the trees and stars as starting points from the photo! And then adapted it to more my style of Christmas card!
So – take a gander at the video to see how to do the scoring and folding – basically, this is a regular A2 card made as a portrait tent card – in this case it’s a Soft Suede card base.
Then, I created the double-easel with a 4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Night of Navy card stock – that I scored at 5 1/4″ and 7 7/8″ along the long side.
I adhered the “back” of the easel panel to a Crumb Cake mat.
The stars on the Night of Navy field come from the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP – which is returning in the Aug – Dec 2020 Mini Catalog!! I adhered a piece to the back of the easel and a smaller piece on the front-most easel panel.
My “snow” is three pieces of Whisper White that I cut using the edge dies in the new Pines Die set. I added “snow squiggles” in stamped-off-TWICE Night of Navy. On the shortest “drift” – I stamped the sentiment from In The Pines in Night of Navy. Then I adhered the larger drift to the easel and popped the sentiment drift on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I cut numerous pine trees – both the solid and detailed tree cuts – in Mossy Meadow and stacked them with Liquid Glue. Then I adhered two of them to the front easel with Liquid Glue and then added the Soft Suede Moose Punch moose. I popped the final – large – tree onto the sentiment drift with Liquid Glue.
For the back panel – I VERY lightly sponge-daubered Night of Navy onto a Whisper White Layering Circles die cut – and my dauber was also VERY dry! – then I added it to the panel with Liquid Glue to create the full moon.
I adhered a small tree with Glue, added a snow drift and then popped a larger tree on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Then I added a single Star Designer Element by the sentiment and the card front/easel was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second In The Pines sentiment in Night of Navy on a Whisper White panel. In the bottom corner I stamped the outline and fill tree shapes in Mossy Meadow and added stamped-off-TWICE Night of Navy snow quiggles. And one more Star Designer Element!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to Night of Navy and Crumb Cake mats and into the Soft Suede A2 card base, adhered the card front/easel with Liquid Glue and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more In The Pines trees and snow squiggles on the front…
…and a little more Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Oh my goodness – I do love how this In The Pines stamp set and bundled Pines Dies comes together on this fun double-easel, don’t you? They have the perfect images and sentiments…and die cut trees!!…
…to let you create wonderful snowy, Christmas-y scenes! And – the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP is just as stunning and elegant now as it was when it debuted last year. SO happy it’s back!
I hope you like!
And – the In The Pines bundle is one of the goodies you can pick up – while saving a little money! – in my Winter Bundle #2! Be sure to check that out, okay?

Finn Fan Fix
Love the trees on the fun fold. Those die cuts are amazing! I love your creativity—envy might be a better word! Chillin to avoid a bath is enviable too on these humid days!
LOL – it’s experience as much as anything, I promise! Thanks very much, Susan! 🙂
Love, love, love this card! The winter night scene that you created is perfect! Yep, Finn has the right idea, stay in the shade and out of the nasty and no bathing required. 😉
Yup – no sweat…no bath! Logic! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂
Ackkk, are you kidding me? I was NOT going to get the PINES but now, doggone it – I’ve got to order that so I can make this card!!! Well done, as usual.
Thanks much, Kathy – it’s an amazing bundle! Hoping it sticks around!! 🙂
What a wonderful card from the fun fold, to the envelope and the envelope flap. The recipient will be so lucky to receive it! Thank you very much for joining us at The Card Concept!
Thank you so much, Anita – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
What a GORGEOUS card. I love everything about it. I have a tonne of tree sets, so I was going to resist this one, but I think I need it now, dang it. You really are my favourite enabler. LOL. Tania…
LOL! My work here is done! 😉 Thanks so much, Tania – you’re very kind!
Stunning card, great use of this fancy fold!
Thank you, Kim! 🙂
Here I am…months later, “CASEing” this card for my brother’s birthday in early January. I had 1 piece of the brightly gleaming paper — and it was the star one (Yay!) I am mightily proud at how well it turned out. Thanks for the “inkspiration!” Happy 2021!
Yeah! So glad that you were able to make it for your brother! I’m sure he’ll love it. Thank you so much, Mary – and Happy New Year! 🙂
I love the double easel fold card, but can you double check the sizes. I’m using the sizes and it’s not quiet coming out like yours. So I’m having to trim things down in order to have borders around the mats like you have. Please help!
Hey Naoma – I’m sorry it’s not working out – can you tell me which panels you’re having trouble with? Thank you!
