Stampin’ Up! Alpine Winter Adventures Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

Our theme pointed me to the Winter Adventures bundle (there’s some foreshadowing for you!) and the coordinating Alpine Winter DSP!  But – I wanted a birthday card so…I pulled out the amazing Banner Sayings bundle!  And – here’s what I came up with! Take a look-see:

And – I know it’s a mystery but…here’s our challenge!

I also used the sketch from the Sunday Stamps challenge for my layout!

I started by adhering a panel of the most gorgeous plaid – from the Alpine Winter DSP – to the front of my Crumb Cake card base using Liquid Glue.

I matted a 3 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ piece of a second design from the DSP – one with some WINTERY mountains! – on Crumb Cake cardstock and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the die in the Winter Adventures set, I cut out the pretty oval die cut from a piece of Peaceful Pine cardstock and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I also cut out some trees – never too many of those! – three from Peaceful Pine 2026-2028 In Color Pearlized Paper and two from the LIGHT-side of Peaceful Pine Two-tone Cardstock.

I adhered the trees to (and behind!) the die cut oval using Liquid Glue.

On a strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a Banner Sayings sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink and cut it out with the bundled Three Banner Punch – cheating the sentiment towards the RIGHT side of the banner.

I adhered the banner to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the gorgeous Winter Adventures pine bough image in Pecan Pie ink. I colored the image with a Light Pecan Pie and the Light and Dark Peaceful Pine Stampin’ Blends and cut it out with the coordinating die in the set.

Then I adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I made a figure-8 with some Secret Sea & Gold 1/4″ Satin Ribbon.  I didn’t tie it in an actual bow – instead I wrapped a length of Linen Thread around it and tied a little bow from that to secure it.

Then I adhered the bow with a Mini Glue Dot.

I added five Secret Sea Adhesive-backed Snowflakes and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a Winter Adventures sentiment in Secret Sea ink on a Basic White panel. In the corner, I stamped the Winter Adventures pine bow in Pecan Pie and colored it with Pecan Pie and Peaceful Pine Stampin’ Blends.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Crumb Cake card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Winter Adventures pine bough on the front…

…and more of the amazing plaid Alpine Winter DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Wow – I love the Winter Adventures bundle – that pine bough is one of my fave images ever!  And the bundled die set is amazing – from the oval to the stand-alone trees!!  The coordinating Alpine Winter DSP is simply stunning!  And the Banner Sayings bundle – with that amazing Three Banner Punch – is one that is on my short list to keep on my shelf even after it retires.  Yup – it is just THAT good! 🙂
