Stampin’ Up! Garden in Bloom Hello and Blog Candy #1 Winner!!

Yikes – can you believe it’s Friday already?!?  Crazy how fast time is flying by!  Seems like I look up and it’s Monday, blink and it’s Friday.  How about you guys – is the summer flying by for you?

My card today was inspired by two different challenges.  After you finish here, do take a minute to go over to their blogs and check them out, okay?

The design comes from Freshly Made Sketches, #198:

The color palette was inspired by Pals Paper Arts Challenge #260:

With those two starting points and the desire to add a “Hello/Just Because” card to my stash, here’s what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! You’ve Got This…..

So, yesterday’s share was quite bright and spring-y and featured a very busy little bee.  For today, I went a little more on the quiet and elegant side of things.  This was another submission for our “purple” challenge and I really love the combination of black, Sahara Sand and Rich Razzleberry.  To me, the combo really screams “elegant”.  Or, more likely, states it quietly and probably with an upper-end British Accent! 😉

I used the new You’ve Got This stamp set and took my inspiration from Freshly Made Sketches challenge #194.  Be sure to head over to check out their blog:

Very simple and clean, huh?  Well, I didn’t stray very far from the sketch.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Garden in Bloom and English Garden Hello!

Today’s share uses the beautiful new Designer Series Paper called English Garden.  It’s reminiscent of the Painted Blooms DSP that was featured in the Sale-A-Bration at the start of the year.  Like that pretty paper, the English Garden DSP can easily stand on its own – lending any card instant color and charm.

I’d also recently received the new Garden in Bloom set – and was itching to play.  So, I combined the two and came up with this card for you.  I even used some of the new Vintage Leaves stamps and matching die set (that I got as a bundle and saved myself 15%!).  I had a real party, I tells ya and it was fun fun fun! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Lovely as a Tree and Timeless Love say “Happy Anniversary”!

Hey Mike Mike Mike!  What day is it, Mike?!?  It’s HAWMP-day!! LOL.  That commercial just cracks me up every time I see it!  Which isn’t all that often unless I’ve screwed up and am watching something in real-time and not on my DVR.  Which is almost never!  But, I digress….

I have a lovely anniversary card to share with you today.  It uses two of my fave stamp sets – Lovely as a Tree and Timeless Love.  One as old as the hills (rumor has it that it’s been in the SU! catalog since the very first catalog was published!) and one brand new.

This was a request-card from my mom for her good friend’s anniversary.  She asked for something “woodsy”.  I think I got it!  Take a look-see:

What’s Up at Stampin’ Up! from Stamps-N-Lingers

Good morning, y’all!   Hope that the start of your week has gone well.  It’s hotter than Hades here in GA – and I know it’s the same in many parts of the country.  If you’re in one of those spots – hope that you can stay cool!

I wanted to share the results of just a couple of hours of work yesterday.  I sat down and assembled my Watercolor Wishes kit cards!!  Actually, the first thing I did was pick one card and make it right quick-like (took me about 7 minutes – and 2 of that was PICKING which card I wanted to make and send! 🙂 ).  The end result is wondrous – I have 19 cards, with various sentiments, ready to go on a moment’s notice.  And it was so easy to do – everything was ready for me!  All I needed was some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and a few glue dots.  Everything else is in the kit!  And – I still have some fun wooden accent embellishments left over to use on future projects.  And that’s on top of the great photopolymer sentiments that you get – I love them and the fonts are beautiful.  Yep, it’s a great kit and a great deal!

Here’s the fine print, though.  Stampin’ Up! has already said that this kit has proven to be just as popular as the Tin of Cards and Cottage Greetings kits, and they anticipate it going on backorder soon.  So – if you want to get this kit (and it would be great for your own use – and also a SUPERB gift for your mom, sister, aunt, BFF……) you ought to consider doing it now!

Farmer’s Market DSP Makes a Cool Country-Vibe Card!

One of the cool things about doing the catalog shares these past few weeks, was that it gave me the excuse to buy enough of each of the new items to ensure that I had a bit of a stash, too! 😉  I’m having a lot of fun playing with the new papers and trying out some of the new ribbons and embellishments as well.  Well, this week, my upline challenged us to make projects using the color purple.  I sorted thru all my new paper-toys, and stumbled onto the Farmer’s Market DSP.  While some of the designs are a bit head-scratchery (“How in the world do I incorporate artichokes and lettuce into a card?” Any ideas out there?!?), there are many that are really awesome.  I picked a few of those for today’s card (and got a purple challenge card in the bargain!).  Take a look-see:

What’s Up at Stampin’ Up! from Stamps-N-Lingers

It’s Tuesday, so that means a new set of Weekly Deals.  Looks like a great time to get a really good price on two of the large punches – those guys look like fun.  I waited too long on last week’s deals, so I didn’t get the 2″ punch I’d wanted.  Don’t be like me, okay?  If you see something this week you want – get it while you’re thinking about it – cause it’ll be NEXT Tuesday before you know it!  AND – there are several items that are brand new in the catalog and those will sell out in a hurry! 😉

Watercolor Wings Book Card

Here’s something you don’t know about me.  I am an ORGANIZING MAVEN!!  I LIVE to clean and organize my household, my barn, my life.  My closet is organized by color, garment type and day of the week.  My kitchen – well, let’s just say that it could pass for Martha Stewart’s kitchen.

I am possibly the most organized person you will ever know – virtually or in reality.

She said – never!

I’m possibly the polar opposite of everything I wrote above.  Oh, I have good intentions.  I can straighten and organize an area in the house and it looks quite awesome.  And then I USE that area and….well, you know.

Why am I telling you this, you might ask?  Well – think back a few posts, when I told you that I’d lost the piece of paper with the recipe for the book Wedding card.  Remember me telling you that I would likely FIND said paper where I least expected I would?  Guess what?  I was right.  I DID find it.  Tucked away with my embellishments and a couple of ink pads.  That’s where you’d have stuck it, right?  Certainly you wouldn’t have carefully placed it in your computer roll-on with the other pieces of paper with card recipes.  THAT would be crazy. 😉  But, find it I did – so here’s how to make a book card.

Now, this is a different card – I decided to make a new card using the same technique.  So the card cuts will be very close to what I used in the wedding card – just different colors.  If anyone wants the actual info for the Timeless Love wedding card – just leave me a comment and I’ll post that one as well.

I decided to use the Watercolor Wings set – brand new! – Butterfly Basics, and the Thoughts and Prayers set to create a Get Well card.  Take a look see:

One of Those Days….and a Thank You Card!

So – if you’ve been a follower of my blog for any time at all, you know that I very recently got home from 4 ridiculously long months in California.  In case you’re new here (welcome! 🙂 ) and let me just say that I wasn’t in the part of CA that you see Clint Eastwood talking about on TV.  No indeed.  But – I’m home now.  And I’ve been taking a couple of weeks of vacation.

We live very near Atlanta.  We have lots and lots of stuff to do here.

Six Flags over Georgia.

Water Parks.

Lake Alatoona, West Point Lake and Lake Lanier within an hour or two.  And a nice fishing boat in the garage.

Calloway Gardens just a couple of hours south of us.  And I hear the butterflies are hatching.  De-robing?  Un-cocooning?

Stone Mountain is close and apparently fun.  Nope – never been there.

One of the best aquariums in the country – just up the road.

The Coca-Cola plant and museum – just up the same road.  And it boasts the opportunity to try Coca-Cola products from all over the world.  Sorry, though – until they make Diet Mountain Dew….I’m a Pepsico girl.  And – other countries have some pretty……”hmm” ideas of what makes soda taste good.  Just sayin’.

Bottom line?  We gots lots and lots of cool, fun things to do – right here.  So – what do you think we did?

Yup – you guessed it.  We replaced the toilet in our master bathroom.  I believe the old one is as old as the house (and it’s no young-un!) and was really ready to be replaced.  Like coffee and toilet paper – there’s just some things that are life-critical.  Toilets that WORK are right up there on that list (maybe for DH the entire outdoors is a valid alternative, but….not for the DW (that’s me)!).  So it was necessary.  But, I must say – if asked to write a one page (single spaced) essay on “What I did on summer vacation” – this would be kind of pathetic!

To top it all off – it’s been “one of those days”.  You know the kind I mean?  I’ve been in a completely stinkin’ mood all day.  One might even say…..

bitchy day

No idea why or where-from the great B****-iness overcame me today – but it did.  Which I’m sure added to the overall pleasantness of replacing the toilet for my DH.  Oh!  Did you think I meant “WE” when I said “we”?  No – HE did the toilet while I supervised, read the directions (which he pretty much ignored), checked for leaks, etc.  The usual.

But – it’s done now.  Ready to roll.  Or flow.  Or….something.  And I’m sure tomorrow will be much better!  And hopefully the little bundle will be all gone.

Now – let’s get on with why you came here today, shall we?  My card today was one I did to thank my friend in CA for all the help he gave me on this last trip.  It uses the brand new Happy Birthday, Everyone stamp set, and is done in a few of the new 2015-2017 In Colors.  Take a look-see:
