Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves Meets Seasonal Frame!

Good morning, y’all!  When you read this, I’ll be on the way to spend a day crafting and carding and playing and eating and (hopefully!!) winning a prize or two!  Wish you could all come – I read someone was flying in from San Diego!  Yikes! 🙂

Now, today’s card is going to look awfully familiar.  That’s cause I used the same sketch challenge as my starting point that I used yesterday.  Normally, I wouldn’t do that.  But, when I first saw the sketch a couple days back, I actually had two card pictures get into my head.  So, I’m doing the one I didn’t do yesterday today.  Saturday.

So, this design was also inspired by Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #288.  Be sure to go over and check them out!

SSSC 288

For this one, I started with Into the Woods DSP as my color scheme launching point.  And I used just one TIEF – the Woodland TIEF.  For my sentiment, I used a die from the Seasonal Frame Thinlits.  And, of course, some Vintage Leaves.  You can see it’s going to go in a completely different direction than the All Ye Faithful card.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! All Ye Faithful in Black and Rose Red… Wait. What?!?

Good Friday morning, y’all!  Wanted to thank all of you who stopped by our Blog Hop yesterday – I surely hope that you had fun and saw some cool projects and got some ideas to use for your future craftiness! 🙂

I had so much fun doing a non-traditional-color Christmas card yesterday that I decided to do it again.  This card uses the lovely All Ye Faithful stamp set, a couple of TIEFs – Boughs & Berries and Elegant Dots, and….well, that’s really about it!  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Dove of Peace and Wonderland for the Happy Stampers Team Blog Hop!

11960226_1268896359803603_8583437756952711798_n

Welcome to the first of our new Happy Stampers Weekly Blog Hops!  Hope that you’ll join us each week to see what we all have to offer.  We have a lot of talented folks in our group and I know that you’re going to be inspired to get crafty with every blog hop you see! 🙂

This week’s blog uses a sketch for inspiration.  This is where we started:

Sketch 1 Blog Hop

Funny story (well, maybe funny – you be the judge.  But, pretend to laugh anyway, okay? I have very delicate feelings) – I was less than prepared for this blog hop.  I needed to provide a “Shortlink” for my fellow hoppers so they could get their blog posts all set up.  And I had to do that early this week.  Well, the way to get a shortlink is to make a blog post and save it and schedule it.  Easy enough – but the TITLE of the blog post has to stay the same once you make it or the shortlink changes and then everything is chaos.  I had to figure out what I was going to make, in order to come up with a title.  But on Monday evening I had no clue.  So, I thought about it for a while and decided I’d make something with the Dove of Peace stamp and the Wonderland stamp set.  I built my title and passed my shortlink on to the other ladies.

I tried to figure out what I was going to do with those two sets and the inspiration sketch.  On top of that, I wanted to incorporate pink into the card, to mark Breast Cancer Awareness and in response to our Happy Stampers challenge for October.  Hmmm….

And then, I remembered Christmas growing up.  My grandparents always had a silvery-flecked, sparkly white-flocked Christmas tree.  And it had pink and silver ornaments and lots and lots of that deadly silver “rain” (my favorite part of the tree!!).  I always loved those Christmas trees – and going with my grandfather to get that tree every year….well, that’s a pretty special memory for me.

And there it was.  White.  Pink.  Christmas Tree.  Take a look-see at how I made Wonderland and Dove of Peace and Pink work for my card!

Stampin’ Up! Joyful Season Makes a Lovely Fall Card

Today’s card share uses the Christmas-y stamp set called Joyful Season, but it’s in the guise of a Fall card.  That’s the only stamp set you’ll need to make this card! I also used some layered stamping techniques, like I’ve shown you before.  Take a look-see:

What’s Up at Stampin’ Up! for 29 Sept 15!

Mornin’, y’all!  It’s Tuesday again, so that means Stampin’ Up! updates and new Weekly Deals.

Here are a few personal news blurbs for you:

  • The Happy Stampers team is starting weekly Blog Hops!  Every Thursday, a group of us will join up to bring you our interpretation of a sketch or a color challenge or some other theme.  On Thursdays (starting this week!), expect my post to come to you at 9am Eastern Time (a little later than you’re used to getting it).  And I’ll have links all set up to help you navigate thru the ladies-who-hop!
  • This coming Saturday, Amy Koenders, Jari Francis and I are going to the World Card Making Day 2015 in Atlanta!  We’ll be spending the day with like-minded card makers, putting together cards and projects with our FREE stamp set, and trying to catch the eye of the Roving Prize Patrols!  There’s a prize for the Tackiest Name Tag, too – which I’m working on now.  I’ll post a pic for you guys when I get it done (well, maybe right before I go on Saturday  – so there’s no industrial espionage going on, if you catch my meaning!).  I think it’s going to be a super fun day – I’ll share some pictures with you on Sunday.  Or Monday if I’m as tired as I think I’ll be on Saturday evening when I get home! 🙂
  • On the 17th, I’ll be going to a Fall Craft and Vendor Festival at the Christ’s Church Whitewater  in Fayetteville, GA.  I’ll have a table and a fun make-and-take and maybe even some cash-and-carry items!  On top of that, you can get your Halloween punkin’ while you’re shopping!  So – if any of you are reading this blog from the south Atlanta area, I’d love to meet you in person.  Here’s a flyer with all the info!

Stampin’ Up! Lighthearted Leaves Super Simple Thank You!

Well, as anticipated, the night sky was not visible for us last night. So we missed the most-Super of the 2015 Super Moons AND the super-rare Total Lunar Eclipse of said Super Moon.  Perhaps we’ll still be around in 2033 and will get to see it then.  If any of you saw it – was it completely awesome?!?!  I SO wanted to see it!! 🙁

Today’s share is a super simple card to make.  It takes a little bit of time to make 8 of them like I did – cause of how you get to color!  I just used the Lighthearted Leaves, Watercolor Wishes and the Tin of Cards stamp sets, and added some color from 4 Fall-centric colors in the 2014-2016 In Color suite: Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist and Mossy Meadow.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Sleighless Sleigh Ride For All Things!

As we head into the first official weekend of the 2015 Fall Season, I thought it would be fun to Welcome Fall with a simple, one-stamp-set card.  Now, to be fair, I also used the Sleigh Ride Thinlits.  I’m sorry, but I just had to use the Big Shot on this one-stamp-set card!

It’s easy to forget, with all the fun new products in the 2015 Holiday Catalog, that the Annual Catalog also has wonderful items that will make super cards for Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and beyond!  The stamp set that I chose today is just such an item – the For All Things set.  This was originally in the 2014 Holiday Catalog and (thankfully!!) made it into the Annual Catalog.  It’s a good ‘un, and I hope it stays as an active set for many years to come.

Take a look see at what I got when I paired For All Things with the Sleigh Ride Thinlits:

Stampin’ Up! Papillon Potpourri and Watercolor Wishes for a Happy Birthday!

Friday Friday!!  Hope you’re all looking forward to a nice, Fall weekend!  I know that I am – the weather promises to be very Fall-ish.  And it’s too early for leaf burning, so we can keep the windows open and enjoy it!

My share for today is neither Fall-ish, Thanksgiving-ish, or Christmas-ish!  It’s a birthday card requested by a friend for her friend.  Description of the recipient:  Not woodsy.  A girly- girl.  Likes shoes.  Wears heels.

Not a lot to go on.  So…..I decided on flowers and butterflies!  We’ll find out soon whether I hit the mark or need to take a mulligan and try again! 🙂

I used some Papillon Potpourri, a little Watercolor Wishes, the Fluttering TIEF and some Winter Wonderland Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

Watercolor Wishes Potpourri Papillion 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

The design is from the Pals Paper Arts Sketch #269.  Be sure to head over as the week progresses to see what folks come up with!

PPA 269

I started by coloring one of the big, gorgeous flowers in the Timeless Elegance DSP (an Annual Catalog offering!).  I used Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and a little Wild Wasabi – courtesy of my Many Marvelous Markers set.  I colored everything in, and then outlined it, and added some shading with Calypso Coral on the flowers.  The centers are Daffodil Delight and So Saffron.  Then I fussy cut the whole thing out!

To make the card front, I took a piece of the Winter Wonderland Specialty DSP and ran it thru the Big Shot in my Fluttering TIEF (tip: be sure to double check that you have the paper in the folder correctly so that you get the embossing on the side that you want!).  Then I SNAILd it to a Gold Foil Mat.

Watercolor Wishes Papillion Potpourri 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers

The circular elements are a Tea Lace Paper Doily and a gold Metallic Doily.  I just adhered them to the card front with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and then I trimmed the excess with my Paper Snips.  I did the same with my fussy-cut Timeless Elegance flower.  Then I took a little more of the glue and spread it around on the flower centers, sprinkled that with Iridescent Ice Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up.  Just a little bit of sparkle!  Finally, I SNAILd the whole card front to my Basic Black card base.

The butterflies are all from the Papillon Potpourri set.  I picked the flowery design for both the large Elegant Butterfly and the smaller Bitty Butterfly punches.  I inked the stamps up with Versamark and stamped the flutterbies on Gold Foil (liberally rubbed with my Embossing Buddy first!).  Then I sprinkled Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the stamped images, hit them with my heat tool, and then punched them out with their corresponding punch.  Easy peasy! 🙂

Watercolor Wishes Papillion Potpourri - Stamps-N-Lingers

I curled all their little wings up a little, and added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to each butterfly.  I saved them for just a few minutes more….

The sentiment is from the ever-so-useful and beautiful Watercolor Wishes stamp set.  The sentiments in this set are wonderful – and the fonts are perfect.  I stamped it in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I made the banner end with my snips and then edged the banner with my Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker.  I used a little Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere it to a piece of Gold Foil and then fussy cut the mat out – again with my Paper Snips.

Watercolor Wishes Potpourri Papillion 9 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I ran a length of Blushing Bride Baker’s Twine and piece of Gold Metallic Thread thru a Gold Basic Metal Button, tied a little bow and adhered it to the sentiment banner with Liquid Glue.  Then I popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Once I had the sentiment where I wanted it, I added the small butterflies (Bitty Butterfly punch) with more Liquid Glue, and then put the single Elegant Butterfly up in the top corner.  And the front was done!

Watercolor Wishes Papillion Potpourri 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

For the inside, I heat embossed (in Gold) the same small flowery butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri set in the bottom corner of a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I added the Birthday sentiment from Watercolor Wishes in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  The mat is another piece of Gold Foil (note to self: buy more Gold Foil in next order! 🙂 ).

Watercolor Wishes Papillion Potpourri 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I added one more little line of Rhinestones at the top….cause I thought they looked cool and girly and sparkly!

For the envelope, I embossed one more butterfly in Gold on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope….

Watercolor Wishes Papillion Potpourri 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers

And (you guessed it!) added a liner of Gold and Black from the Winter Wonderland Specialty DSP using my Envelope Liner Thinlits.

Watercolor Wishes Papillion Potpourri 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers

So – we’ll find out in a couple of days whether this will work or whether I’ll be back to the drawing board! 😉  I hope she likes it – and hope that you enjoyed it as well.

Enjoy your last day of the week and I’ll be back tomorrow with another project to share!

Stampin’ Up! Happy Scenes on Vintage Leaflets!

Happy Thursday, y’all!  Business is satisfactorily concluded and I’m getting back on the road to head home!  In the meantime, please enjoy this card I have to share with you today.

I am really really pleased with this one (especially after the “teachable moment card” of yesterday!).  But, let me warn you up front – it wasn’t particularly easy OR peasy to put together.  It took a lot of adjusting and Stamp-A-Ma-Jigging and wiggling.  But I finally got it and I’m proud as punch at how it turned out!  And, let’s be honest here – if I can do it, so can you! Promise! 🙂

I’d seen a card with a Happy Scene on a Vintage Leaf (Miss Amy Koenders did one a few days back!) and I loved it.  So, I wanted to do a similar thing, but….I didn’t want a direct CASE.  So, I played in my head with an idea….and this is what I came up with.  Take a look-see:
